Deuteronomy 13

1 Enticers to idolatry, 6 how near soever unto thee, 10 are to be stoned to death. 12 Idolatrous cities are not to be spared.

 13:1 “If 3588 a prophet 5030 or 176 a dreamer 2492b of dreams 2472 arises 6965 among 7130 you and gives 5414 you a sign 226 or 176 a wonder 4159,

 13:2 and the sign 226 or the wonder 4159 comes 935 true, concerning which 834 he spoke 1696 to you, saying 559, ‘Let us go 1980 after 310 other 312 gods 430 (whom 834 you have not known 3045) and let us serve 5647 them,’

 13:3 you shall not listen 8085 to the words 1697 of that prophet 5030 or 176 that dreamer 2492b of dreams 2472; for the LORD 3068 your God 430 is testing 5254 you to find 3045 out if you love 157 the LORD 3068 your God 430 with all 3605 your heart 3824 and with all 3605 your soul 5315.

 13:4 “You shall follow 310 1980 the LORD 3068 your God 430 and fear 3372a Him; and you shall keep 8104 His commandments 4687, listen 8085 to His voice 6963, serve 5647 Him, and cling 1692 to Him.

 13:5 “But that prophet 5030 or 176 that dreamer 2492b of dreams 2472 shall be put 4191 to death 4191, because 3588 he has counseled 1696 rebellion 5627 against 5921 the LORD 3068 your God 430 who brought 3318 you from the land 776 of Egypt 4714 and redeemed 6299 you from the house 1004 of slavery 5650, to seduce 5080 you from the way 1870 in which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 commanded 6680 you to walk 1980. So you shall purge 1197a the evil 7451b from among 7130 you.

 13:6 ¶ “If 3588 your brother 251, your mother’s 517 son 1121, or 176 your son 1121 or 176 daughter 1323, or 176 the wife 802 you cherish 2436, or 176 your friend 7453 who 834 is as your own soul 5315, entice 5496 you secretly 5643a, saying 559, ‘Let us go 1980 and serve 5647 other 312 gods 430’ (whom 834 neither 3808 you nor 3808 your fathers 1 have known 3045,

 13:7 of the gods 430 of the peoples 5971a who 834 are around 5439 you, near 7138 you or 176 far 7350 from you, from one end 7097a of the earth 776 to the other end 7097a),

 13:8 you shall not yield 14 to him or listen 8085 to him; and your eye 5869 shall not pity 2347 him, nor 3808 shall you spare 2550 or conceal 3680 him.

 13:9 “But you shall surely 2026 kill 2026 him; your hand 3027 shall be first 7223 against him to put 4191 him to death 4191, and afterwards 314 the hand 3027 of all 3605 the people 5971a.

 13:10 “So you shall stone 5619 him to death 4191 because 3588 he has sought 1245 to seduce 5080 you from the LORD 3068 your God 430 who brought 3318 you out from the land 776 of Egypt 4714, out of the house 1004 of slavery 5650.

 13:11 “Then all 3605 Israel 3478 will hear 8085 and be afraid 3372a, and will never 3808 again 3254 do 6213a such 2088 a wicked 7451a thing 1697 among 7130 you.

 13:12 ¶ “If 3588 you hear 8085 in one 259 of your cities 5892b, which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 is giving 5414 you to live 3427 in, [anyone] saying 559 [that]

 13:13 some worthless 1100 men 376 have gone 3318 out from among 7130 you and have seduced 5080 the inhabitants 3427 of their city 5892b, saying 559, ‘Let us go 1980 and serve 5647 other 312 gods 430’ (whom 834 you have not known 3045),

 13:14 then you shall investigate 1875 and search 2713 out and inquire 7592 thoroughly 3190. If 2009 it is true 571 [and] the matter 1697 established 3559 that this 2088 abomination 8441 has been done 6213a among 7130 you,

 13:15 you shall surely 5221 strike 5221 the inhabitants 3427 of that city 5892b with the edge 6310 of the sword 2719, utterly 2763a destroying 2763a it and all 3605 that is in it and its cattle 929 with the edge 6310 of the sword 2719.

 13:16 “Then you shall gather 6908 all 3605 its booty 7998 into the middle 8432 of its open 7339 square 7339 and burn 8313 the city 5892b and all 3605 its booty 7998 with fire 784 as a whole 3632 burnt 3632 offering 3632 to the LORD 3068 your God 430; and it shall be a ruin 8510 forever 5769. It shall never 3808 be rebuilt 1129.

 13:17 “Nothing 3808 from that which 2764a is put under 2764a the ban 2764a shall cling 1692 to your hand 3027, in order 4616 that the LORD 3068 may turn 7725 from His burning 2740 anger 639 and show 5414 mercy 7356 to you, and have 7355 compassion 7355 on you and make you increase 7235a, just 3152c as He has sworn 7650 to your fathers 1,

 13:18 if 3588 you will listen 8085 to the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 your God 430, keeping 8104 all 3605 His commandments 4687 which 834 I am commanding 6680 you today 3117, and doing 6213a what 3477 is right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 your God 430.
