Deuteronomy 23

1 Who may not enter into the congregation. 9 Uncleanness to be avoided in the host. 15 Of the fugitive servant. 17 Of filthiness. 18 Of abominable sacrifices. 19 Of usury. 21 Of vows. 24 Of trespasses.

 23:1 “No 3808 one 6481 who is emasculated 1795 6481 or has his male 8212 organ 8212 cut 3772 off 3772 shall enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068.

 23:2 “No 3808 one 4464 of illegitimate 4464 birth 4464 shall enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068; none 3808 of his [descendants], even 1571 to the tenth 6224 generation 1755, shall enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068.

 23:3 “No 3808 Ammonite 5984 or Moabite 4125 shall enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068; none 3808 of their [descendants], even 1571 to the tenth 6224 generation 1755, shall ever 5769 enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068,

 23:4 because 5921 1697 834 they did not meet 6923 you with food 3899 and water 4325 on the way 1870 when you came 3318 out of Egypt 4714, and because 834 they hired 7936 against 5921 you Balaam 1109a the son 1121 of Beor 1160 from Pethor 6604a of Mesopotamia 763, to curse 7043 you.

 23:5 “Nevertheless, the LORD 3068 your God 430 was not willing 14 to listen 8085 to Balaam 1109a, but the LORD 3068 your God 430 turned 2015 the curse 7045 into a blessing 1293 for you because 3588 the LORD 3068 your God 430 loves 157 you.

 23:6 “You shall never 3808 5769 seek 1875 their peace 7965 or their prosperity 2899b all 3605 your days 3117.

 23:7 ¶ “You shall not detest 8581 an Edomite 130, for he is your brother 251; you shall not detest 8581 an Egyptian 4713, because 3588 you were an alien 1616 in his land 776.

 23:8 “The sons 1121 of the third 7992 generation 1755 who 834 are born 3205 to them may enter 935 the assembly 6951 of the LORD 3068.

 23:9 ¶ “When 3588 you go 3318 out as an army 4264 against 5921 your enemies 340, you shall keep 8104 yourself from every 3605 evil 7451a thing 1697.

 23:12 ¶ “You shall also have 1961 a place 3027 outside 4480 2351 the camp 4264 and go 3318 out there 8033,

 23:13 and you shall have 1961 a spade 3489 among 5921 your tools 240, and it shall be when you sit 3427 down 3427 outside 2351, you shall dig 2658 with it and shall turn 7725 to cover 3680 up your excrement 6627.

 23:16 “He shall live 3427 with you in your midst 7130, in the place 4725 which 834 he shall choose 977 in one 259 of your towns 8179 where it pleases 2896a him; you shall not mistreat 3238 him.

 23:17 ¶ “None 3808 of the daughters 1323 of Israel 3478 shall be a cult 6945 prostitute 6945, nor 3808 shall any 4480 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 be a cult 6945 prostitute 6945.

 23:18 “You shall not bring 935 the hire 868 of a harlot 2181 or the wages 4242 of a dog 3611 into the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 your God 430 for any 3605 votive 5088 offering 5088, for both 1571 8147 of these are an abomination 8441 to the LORD 3068 your God 430.

 23:19 ¶ “You shall not charge 5391b interest 5391b to your countrymen 251: interest 5392 on money 3701, food 400, [or] anything 3605 that may be loaned 5391b at interest 5391b.

 23:20 “You may charge 5391b interest 5391b to a foreigner 5237, but to your countrymen 251 you shall not charge 5391b interest 5391b, so 4616 that the LORD 3068 your God 430 may bless 1288 you in all 3605 that you undertake 3027 4916a in the land 776 which 834 you are about to enter 935 to possess 3423.

 23:21 ¶ “When 3588 you make 5087 a vow 5088 to the LORD 3068 your God 430, you shall not delay 309 to pay 7999a it, for it would be sin 2399 in you, and the LORD 3068 your God 430 will surely 1875 require 1875 it of you.

 23:22 “However, if 3588 you refrain 2308 from vowing 5087, it would not be sin 2399 in you.

 23:23 “You shall be careful 8104 to perform 6213a what 4161 goes 4161 out from your lips 8193, just 3152c as you have voluntarily 5071 vowed 5087 to the LORD 3068 your God 430, what 834 you have promised 1696.

 23:24 ¶ “When 3588 you enter 935 your neighbor’s 7453 vineyard 3754, then you may eat 398 grapes 6025 until you are fully 7648 satisfied 7648, but you shall not put 5414 any in your basket 3627.

 23:25 ¶ “When 3588 you enter 935 your neighbor’s 7453 standing 7054 grain 7054, then you may pluck 6998 the heads 4425 with your hand 3027, but you shall not wield 5130 a sickle 2770 in your neighbor’s 7453 standing 7054 grain 7054.
