Deuteronomy 14

1 God's children are not to disfigure themselves in mourning. 3 What may, and what may not be eaten, 4 of beasts, 9 of fishes, 11 of fowls. 21 That which dieth of itself may not be eaten. 22 Tithes of divine service. 23 Tithes and firstlings of rejoicing before the LORD. 28 The third year's tithe of alms and charity.

 14:1 “You are the sons 1121 of the LORD 3068 your God 430; you shall not cut 1413 yourselves nor 3808 shave 7760 7144 your forehead 996 5869 for the sake of the dead 4191.

 14:2 “For you are a holy 6918 people 5971a to the LORD 3068 your God 430, and the LORD 3068 has chosen 977 you to be a people 5971a for His own possession 5459 out of all 3605 the peoples 5971a who 834 are on the face 6440 of the earth 127.

 14:3 ¶ “You shall not eat 398 any 3605 detestable 8441 thing 8441.

 14:4 “These 2088 are the animals 929 which 834 you may eat 398: the ox 7794, the sheep 3775 7716, the goat 5795,

 14:5 the deer 354, the gazelle 6643b, the roebuck 3180, the wild 689 goat 689, the ibex 1788, the antelope 8377 and the mountain 2169 sheep 2169.

 14:6 “Any 3605 animal 929 that divides 6536 the hoof 6541 and has 8156 the hoof 8157 split 8156 in two 8147 [and] chews 5927 the cud 1625, among the animals 929, that you may eat 398.

 14:7 “Nevertheless 389, you are not to eat 398 of these 2088 among 4480 those which chew 5927 the cud 1625, or among 4480 those that divide 6536 the hoof 6541 in two 8156: the camel 1581 and the rabbit 768 and the shaphan 8227a, for though they chew 5927 the cud 1625, they do not divide 6536 the hoof 6541; they are unclean 2931 for you.

 14:8 “The pig 2386, because 3588 it divides 6536 the hoof 6541 but [does] not [chew] the cud 1625, it is unclean 2931 for you. You shall not eat 398 any 4480 of their flesh 1320 nor 3808 touch 5060 their carcasses 5038.

 14:9 ¶ “These 2088 you may eat 398 of all 3605 that are in water 4325: anything 3605 that has fins 5579 and scales 7193 you may eat 398,

 14:10 but anything 3605 that does not have 369 fins 5579 and scales 7193 you shall not eat 398; it is unclean 2931 for you.

 14:11 ¶ “You may eat 398 any 3605 clean 2889 bird 6833.

 14:12 “But these 2088 are the ones which 834 you shall not eat 398: the eagle 5404 and the vulture 6538 and the buzzard 5822,

 14:13 and the red kite 1676, the falcon 344, and the kite 1676 in their kinds 4327,

 14:14 and every 3605 raven 6158 in its kind 4327,

 14:15 and the ostrich 3284, the owl 8464, the sea 7828 gull 7828, and the hawk 5322b in their kinds 4327,

 14:16 the little 3563b owl 3563b, the great 3244 owl 3244, the white 8580 owl 8580,

 14:17 the pelican 6893, the carrion 7360 vulture 7360, the cormorant 7994,

 14:18 the stork 2624, and the heron 601 in their kinds 4327, and the hoopoe 1744 and the bat 5847.

 14:19 “And all 3605 the teeming 8318 life 8318 with wings 5775 are unclean 2931 to you; they shall not be eaten 398.

 14:20 “You may eat 398 any 3605 clean 2889 bird 5775.

 14:21 ¶ “You shall not eat 398 anything 3605 which 5038 dies 5038 [of itself]. You may give 5414 it to the alien 1616 who 834 is in your town 8179, so that he may eat 398 it, or 176 you may sell 4376 it to a foreigner 5237, for you are a holy 6918 people 5971a to the LORD 3068 your God 430. You shall not boil 1310 a young 1423 goat 1423 in its mother’s 517 milk 2461.

 14:22 ¶ “You shall surely 6237 tithe 6237 all 3605 the produce 8393 from what 2233 you sow 2233, which comes 3318 out of the field 7704 every 8141 year 8141.

 14:23 “You shall eat 398 in the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068 your God 430, at the place 4725 where 834 8033 He chooses 977 to establish 7931 His name 8034, the tithe 4643 of your grain 1715, your new 8492 wine 8492, your oil 3323, and the firstborn 1060 of your herd 1241 and your flock 6629, so 4616 that you may learn 3925 to fear 3372a the LORD 3068 your God 430 always 3605 3117.

 14:24 “If 3588 the distance 1870 is so great 7235a for you that you are not able 3201 to bring 5375 [the tithe], since 3588 the place 4725 where 834 8033 the LORD 3068 your God 430 chooses 977 to set 7760 His name 8034 is too far 7368 away from you when 3588 the LORD 3068 your God 430 blesses 1288 you,

 14:25 then you shall exchange 5414 [it] for money 3701, and bind 6696a the money 3701 in your hand 3027 and go 1980 to the place 4725 which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 chooses 977.

 14:26 “You may spend 5414 the money 3701 for whatever 3605 834 your heart 5315 desires 183: for oxen 1241, or sheep 6629, or wine 3196, or strong 7941 drink 7941, or whatever 3605 834 your heart 5315 desires 7592; and there 8033 you shall eat 398 in the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068 your God 430 and rejoice 8055, you and your household 1004.

 14:27 “Also you shall not neglect 5800a the Levite 3881 who 834 is in your town 8179, for he has 369 no 369 portion 2506 or inheritance 5159 among 5973 you.

 14:28 ¶ “At the end 7097a of every third 7969 year 8141 you shall bring 3318 out all 3605 the tithe 4643 of your produce 8393 in that year 8141, and shall deposit 5117 [it] in your town 8179.

 14:29 “The Levite 3881, because 3588 he has 369 no 369 portion 2506 or inheritance 5159 among 5973 you, and the alien 1616, the orphan 3490 and the widow 490 who 834 are in your town 8179, shall come 935 and eat 398 and be satisfied 7646, in order 4616 that the LORD 3068 your God 430 may bless 1288 you in all 3605 the work 4639 of your hand 3027 which 834 you do 6213a.
