Deuteronomy 3

1 The story of the conquest of Og king of Bashan. 11 The bigness of his bed. 12 The distribution of those lands to the two tribes and half. 23 Moses' prayer to enter into the land. 26 He is permitted to see it.

 3:1 “Then we turned 6437 and went 5927 up the road 1870 to Bashan 1316, and Og 5747, king 4428 of Bashan 1316, with all 3605 his people 5971a came 3318 out to meet 7122 us in battle 4421 at Edrei 154.

 3:2 “But the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, ‘Do not fear 3372a him, for I have delivered 5414 him and all 3605 his people 5971a and his land 776 into your hand 3027; and you shall do 6213a to him just 3512c as you did 6213a to Sihon 5511 king 4428 of the Amorites 567, who 834 lived 3427 at Heshbon 2809.’

 3:3 “So the LORD 3068 our God 430 delivered 5414 Og 5747 also 1571, king 4428 of Bashan 1316, with all 3605 his people 5971a into our hand 3027, and we smote 5221 them until 5704 no 1115 survivor 8300 was left 7604.

 3:4 “We captured 3920 all 3605 his cities 5892b at that time 6256; there was not a city 7151 which 834 we did not take 3947 from them: sixty 8346 cities 5892b, all 3605 the region 2256a of Argob 709b, the kingdom 4467 of Og 5747 in Bashan 1316.

 3:5 “All 3605 these 428 were cities 5892b fortified 1219 with high 1364 walls 2346, gates 1817 and bars 1280, besides 905 4480 a great 3966 many 7235a unwalled 6521 towns 5892b.

 3:6 “We utterly 2763a destroyed 2763a them, as we did 6213a to Sihon 5511 king 4428 of Heshbon 2809, utterly 2763a destroying 2763a the men 4962, women 802 and children 2945 of every 3605 city 5892b.

 3:7 “But all 3605 the animals 929 and the spoil 7998 of the cities 5892b we took 962 as our booty 962.

 3:8 ¶ “Thus we took 3947 the land 776 at that time 6256 from the hand 3027 of the two 8147 kings 4428 of the Amorites 567 who 834 were beyond 5676 the Jordan 3383, from the valley 5158a of Arnon 769 to Mount 2022 Hermon 2768

 3:18 ¶ “Then I commanded 6680 you at that time 6256, saying 559, ‘The LORD 3068 your God 430 has given 5414 you this 2088 land 776 to possess 3423 it; all 3605 you valiant 2428 men 1121 shall cross 5674a over 5674a armed 2502b before 6440 your brothers 251, the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 3:19 ‘But your wives 802 and your little 2945 ones 2945 and your livestock 4735 (I know 3045 that you have much 7227a livestock 4735) shall remain 3427 in your cities 5892b which 834 I have given 5414 you,

 3:20 until 5704 the LORD 3068 gives 5117 rest 5117 to your fellow 251 countrymen 251 as to you, and they also 1571 possess 3423 the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 will give 5414 them beyond 5676 the Jordan 3383. Then you may return 7725 every 376 man 376 to his possession 3425 which 834 I have given 5414 you.’

 3:21 “I commanded 6680 Joshua 3091 at that time 6256, saying 559, ‘Your eyes 5869 have seen 7200 all 3605 that the LORD 3068 your God 430 has done 6213a to these 428 two 8147 kings 4428; so 3651 the LORD 3068 shall do 6213a to all 3605 the kingdoms 4467 into which 834 you are about to cross 5674a.

 3:22 ‘Do not fear 3372a them, for the LORD 3068 your God 430 is the one fighting 3898a for you.’

 3:23 ¶ “I also pleaded 2603a with the LORD 3068 at that time 6256, saying 559,

 3:24 ‘O Lord 136 GOD 3068, You have begun 2490c to show 7200 Your servant 5650 Your greatness 1433 and Your strong 2389 hand 3027; for what 4310 god 410 is there in heaven 8064 or on earth 776 who 834 can do 6213a such works 4639 and mighty 1369 acts 1369 as Yours?

 3:25 ‘Let me, I pray 4994, cross 5674a over 5674a and see 7200 the fair 2896a land 776 that is beyond 5676 the Jordan 3383, that good 2896a hill 2022 country 2022 and Lebanon 3844.’

 3:26 “But the LORD 3068 was angry 5674b with me on your account 4616, and would not listen 8085 to me; and the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, ‘Enough 7227a! Speak 1696 to Me no 408 more 3254 5750 of this 2088 matter 1697.

 3:27 ‘Go 5927 up to the top 7218 of Pisgah 6449 and lift 5375 up your eyes 5869 to the west 3220 and north 6828 and south 8486 and east 4217, and see 7200 [it] with your eyes 5869, for you shall not cross 5674a over 5674a this 2088 Jordan 3383.

 3:28 ‘But charge 6680 Joshua 3091 and encourage 2388 him and strengthen 553 him, for he shall go 5674a across 5674a at the head 6440 of this 2088 people 5971a, and he will give 5159 them as an inheritance 5157 the land 776 which 834 you will see 7200.’

 3:29 “So we remained 3427 in the valley 1516 opposite 4136 Beth-peor 1047.
