 39:1 ¶ In the ninth° year° of Xiđkiyyà צִדקִיָּה° king° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה,° in the tenth° month,° came°° Nævûȼađre´xxar נְבוּכַדרֶאצַּר° king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° and all° his army° against° Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם,° and they besieged°° it.

 39:1 ¶ In the ninth year of Tzidqiyyah king of Yehudah, in the tenth month, came Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel and all his army against Yerushalaim, and they besieged it.

 39:2 [And] in the eleventh°° year° of Xiđkiyyà צִדקִיָּה,° in the fourth° month,° the ninth° [day] of the month,° the city° was broken up.°°

 39:3 And all° the princes° of the king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° came in,°° and sat°° in the middle° gate,° [even] Nërqal Ŝar ´Exer נֵרגַל־שַׂר־אֶצֶר,° Samgar Nævû סַמגַּר־נְבוּ,° Ŝar Sæȼîm שַׂר־סְכִים,° Rav Särîs רַב־סָרִיס,° Nërqal Ŝar ´Exer נֵרגַל־שַׂר־אֶצֶר,° Rav Mäq רַב־מָג,° with all° the residue° of the princes° of the king° of Bävel בָּבֶל.°

 39:3 And all the princes of the king of Bavel came in, and sat in the middle gate, [even] Nergal-Sar-Etzer, Samgar-Nevu, Sar-Sekhim, Rav-Saris, Nergal-Sar-Etzer, Rav-Mag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Bavel.

 39:4 ¶ And it came to pass,° [that] when° Xiđkiyyà צִדקִיָּה° the king° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה° saw°° them, and all° the men°° of war,° then they fled,°° and went forth°° out of° the city° by night,° by the way° of the king's° garden,° by the gate° betwixt° the two walls:° and he went out°° the way° of the plain.°

 39:4 ¶ And it came to pass, [that] when Tzidqiyyah the king of Yehudah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

 39:5 But the Caŝdîm's כַּשׂדִּים° army° pursued°° after° them, and overtook°°° Xiđkiyyà צִדקִיָּה° in the plains° of Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹ:° and when they had taken°° him, they brought him up°° to° Nævûȼađne´xxar נְבוּכַדנֶאצַּר° king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° to Rivlà רִבלָה° in the land° of Çámäŧ חֲמָת,° where he gave°° judgment° upon° him.

 39:5 But the Kasdim's army pursued after them, and overtook Tzidqiyyah in the plains of Yericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel to Rivlah in the land of Chamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

 39:6 Then the king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° slew°°° the sons° of Xiđkiyyà צִדקִיָּה° in Rivlà רִבלָה° before his eyes:° also the king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° slew°° all° the nobles° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה.°

 39:6 Then the king of Bavel slew the sons of Tzidqiyyah in Rivlah before his eyes: also the king of Bavel slew all the nobles of Yehudah.

 39:7 Moreover he put out°° Xiđkiyyà's צִדקִיָּה°° eyes,° and bound°° him with chains,° to carry°° him to Bävel בָּבֶל.°

 39:7 Moreover he put out Tzidqiyyah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Bavel.

 39:8 ¶ And the Caŝdîm כַּשׂדִּים° burned°° the king's° house,° and the houses° of the people,° with fire,° and brake down°° the walls° of Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם.°

 39:8 ¶ And the Kasdim burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Yerushalaim.

 39:9 Then° Nævûzar´áđän נְבוּזַראֲדָן° the captain° of the guard° carried away captive°° into Bävel בָּבֶל° the remnant° of the people° that remained°° in the city,° and those that fell away,°° that° fell°° to° him, with° the rest° of the people° that remained.°°

 39:9 Then Nevuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Bavel the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.

 39:10 But Nævûzar´áđän נְבוּזַראֲדָן° the captain° of the guard° left°° of the poor° of° the people,° which° had nothing,°° in the land° of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה,° and gave°° them vineyards° and fields° at the same° time.°

 39:10 But Nevuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Yehudah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

 39:11 ¶ Now Nævûȼađre´xxar נְבוּכַדרֶאצַּר° king° of Bävel בָּבֶל° gave charge°° concerning° Yirmæyà יִרמְיָה° to° Nævûzar´áđän נְבוּזַראֲדָן° the captain° of the guard,° saying,°°

 39:11 ¶ Now Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel gave charge concerning Yirmeyah to Nevuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,

 39:12 Take°° him, and look well°°° to° him, and do°° him no°° harm;°° but°° do°° unto° him even° as° he shall say°° unto° thee.

 39:12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.

 39:13 So Nævûzar´áđän נְבוּזַראֲדָן° the captain° of the guard° sent,°° and Nævûšazbän נְבוּשַׁזבָּן,° Rav Särîs רַב־סָרִיס,° and Nërqal Ŝar ´Exer נֵרגַל־שַׂר־אֶצֶר,° Rav Mäq רַב־מָג,° and all° the king° of Bävel's בָּבֶל° princes;°

 39:13 So Nevuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nevushazban, Rav-Saris, and Nergal-Sar-Etzer, Rav-Mag, and all the king of Bavel's princes;

 39:14 Even they sent,°° and took°°° Yirmæyà יִרמְיָה° out of the court°° of the prison,° and committed°° him unto° Gæđalyà גְּדַליָה° the son° of ´Áçîkäm אֲחִיקָם° the son° of Šäfän שָׁפָן,° that he should carry°° him home:° so he dwelt°° among° the people.°

 39:14 Even they sent, and took Yirmeyah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedalyah the son of Achiqam the son of Shafan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.

 39:15 ¶ Now the word° of Yähwè יָהוֶה° came° unto° Yirmæyà יִרמְיָה,° while he was° shut up°° in the court° of the prison,° saying,°°

 39:15 ¶ Now the word of Yahweh came unto Yirmeyah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

 39:16 Go°° and speak°° to `Eveđ Meleȼ עֶבֶד־מֶלֶך° the Cûšî כּוּשִׁי,° saying,°° Thus° saith°° Yähwè יָהוֶה° Xævä´ôŧ צְבָאוֹת,° the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל;° Behold,° I will bring°°° my words° upon° this° city° for evil,° and not° for good;° and they shall be° [accomplished] in that° day° before° thee.

 39:16 Go and speak to Eved-Melekh the Kushi, saying, Thus saith Yahweh Tzevaoth, the Elohim of Yisrael; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be [accomplished] in that day before thee.

 39:17 But I will deliver°° thee in that° day,° saith°° Yähwè יָהוֶה:° and thou shalt not° be given°° into the hand° of the men°° of whom°° thou° [art] afraid.°°°°

 39:17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith Yahweh: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou [art] afraid.

 39:18 For° I will surely°° deliver°° thee, and thou shalt not° fall°° by the sword,° but thy life° shall be° for a prey° unto thee: because° thou hast put thy trust°° in me, saith°° Yähwè יָהוֶה.°

 39:18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith Yahweh.
