And it came to pass in the fourth year of Yehoyaqim the son of Yoshiyyah king of Yehudah, [that] this word came unto Yirmeyah from Yahweh, saying, |

thee a roll°
of a book,°
and write°°
therein°°
all°
the words°
that°
I have spoken°°
unto°
thee against°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and against°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and against°
all°
the nations,°
from the day°°
I spake°°
unto°
thee, from the days°°
of
Yö´šiyyà
יֹאשִׁיָּה,°
even unto°
this°

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Yisrael, and against Yehudah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Yoshiyyah, even unto this day. |

It may be that°
the house°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
will hear°°°
all°
the evil°
which°
I°
purpose°°
to do°°
unto them; that°
they may return°°
every man°
from his evil°
way;°°
that I may forgive°°
their iniquity°
and their sin.° |

It may be that the house of Yehudah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. |

Then Yirmeyah called Barukh the son of Neriyyah: and Barukh wrote from the mouth of Yirmeyah all the words of Yahweh, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book. |

[am] shut up;°°
I cannot°°°
go°°
into the house°

Yähwè

And Yirmeyah commanded Barukh, saying, I [am] shut up; I cannot go into the house of Yahweh: |

in the roll,°

thou hast written°°

in the ears°
of the people°

Yähwè's

upon the fasting°

them in the ears°

Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Yahweh in the ears of the people in Yahweh's house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Yehudah that come out of their cities. |

they will present°°
their supplication°
before°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and will return°°
every one°
from his evil°
way:°°
for°
great°
[is] the anger°
and the fury°
that°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
hath pronounced°°
against°
this°

It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will return every one from his evil way: for great [is] the anger and the fury that Yahweh hath pronounced against this people. |

And Barukh the son of Neriyyah did according to all that Yirmeyah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Yahweh in Yahweh's house. |

And it came to pass°

[that] they proclaimed°°

יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and to all°
the people°
that came°°
from the cities°°

Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°

Yærûšälaim

And it came to pass in the fifth year of Yehoyaqim the son of Yoshiyyah king of Yehudah, in the ninth month, [that] they proclaimed a fast before Yahweh to all the people in Yerushalaim, and to all the people that came from the cities of Yehudah unto Yerushalaim. |

When Mikhayhu the son of Gemaryah, the son of Shafan, had heard out of the book all the words of Yahweh, |

and, lo,°

the princes°

there,°
[even]
´Élîšämä`
אֱלִישָׁמָע°
the scribe,°°

Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, [even] Elishama the scribe, and Delayah the son of Shemayah, and Elnathan the son of Akhbor, and Gemaryah the son of Shafan, and Tzidqiyyah the son of Chananyah, and all the princes. |

Therefore all the princes sent Yehudi the son of Nethanyah, the son of Shelemyah, the son of Kushi, unto Barukh, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Barukh the son of Neriyyah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them. |

And they said°°

him, Sit down°°
now,°
and read°°
it in our ears.°

We will surely°°
tell°°
the king°
of°
all°
these°

Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Barukh, We will surely tell the king of all these words. |

Tell°°
us now,°

didst thou write°°°
all°
these°
words°
at his mouth?°° |

And they asked Barukh, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth? |

them, He pronounced°°°

me with his mouth,°°

[them] with ink°
in°
the book.° |

Then Barukh answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote [them] with ink in the book. |

thee, thou°

יִרמְיָה;°
and let no°
man°
know°°
where°
ye be. |

Then said the princes unto Barukh, Go, hide thee, thou and Yirmeyah; and let no man know where ye be. |

36:20 ¶
And they went in°°

the king°
into the court,°
but they laid up°°
the roll°
in the chamber°
of
´Élîšämä`
אֱלִישָׁמָע°
the scribe,°°
and told°°°
all°
the words°
in the ears°
of the king.° |

And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king. |

36:21
So the king°
sent°°°

to fetch°°°
the roll:°
and he took°°
it out of
´Élîšämä`
אֱלִישָׁמָע°
the scribe's°°
chamber.°°
And
Yæhûđî

it in the ears°
of the king,°
and in the ears°
of all°
the princes°
which stood°°
beside°°
the king.° |

So the king sent Yehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Yehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king. |

36:22
Now the king°
sat°°
in the winterhouse°°
in the ninth°
month:°
and [there was a fire] on the hearth°
burning°°
before°
him. |

Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and [there was a fire] on the hearth burning before him. |

36:23
And it came to pass,°
[that] when
Yæhûđî
יְהוּדִי°
had read°°
three°
or four°
leaves,°
he cut°°
it with the penknife,°°°
and cast°°
[it] into°
the fire°
that°
[was] on°
the hearth,°
until°
all°
the roll°
was consumed°°
in°
the fire°
that°
[was] on°
the hearth.° |

And it came to pass, [that] when Yehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast [it] into the fire that [was] on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that [was] on the hearth. |

36:24
Yet they were not°
afraid,°°
nor°
rent°°°
their garments,°
[neither] the king,°
nor any°
of his servants°
that heard°°°
all°
these°
words.° |

Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, [neither] the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words. |

Nevertheless°

had made intercession°°
to the king°
that he would not°
burn°°°
the roll:°
but he would not°
hear°°°
them. |

Nevertheless Elnathan and Delayah and Gemaryah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them. |

36:26
But the king°
commanded°°°

הַמֶּלֶך,°
and

שְׂרָיָה°
the son°

hid°°

But the king commanded Yerachmeel the son of Hammelekh, and Serayah the son of Azriel, and Shelemyah the son of Avdeel, to take Barukh the scribe and Yirmeyah the prophet: but Yahweh hid them. |

36:27 ¶

יִרמְיָה,°
after°
that°
the king°
had burned°°°
the roll,°
and the words°
which°

בָּרוּך°
wrote°°
at the mouth°°

Yirmæyà

Then the word of Yahweh came to Yirmeyah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Barukh wrote at the mouth of Yirmeyah, saying, |

the first°
roll,°

Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Yehoyaqim the king of Yehudah hath burned. |

And thou shalt say to Yehoyaqim king of Yehudah, Thus saith Yahweh; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Bavel shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast? |

Therefore thus saith Yahweh of Yehoyaqim king of Yehudah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of Dawid: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost. |

And I will punish°°°
him and his seed°
and his servants°
for°
their iniquity;°
and I will bring°°
upon°
them, and upon°
the inhabitants°°
of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and upon°
the men°
of
Yæhûđà

them; but they hearkened°°

Then took Yirmeyah another roll, and gave it to Barukh the scribe, the son of Neriyyah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Yirmeyah all the words of the book which Yehoyaqim king of Yehudah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words. |
