Matthew 21

1 Christ rideth into Jerusalem upon an ass, 12 driveth the buyers and sellers out of the Temple, 17 curseth the fig tree, 23 putteth to silence the priests and elders, 28 and rebuketh them by the similitude of the two sons, 33 and the husbandmen, who slew such as were sent unto them.

 21:1 When 3753 they had approached 1448 Jerusalem 2414 and had come 2064 to Bethphage 967, at the Mount 3735 of Olives 1636, then 5119 Jesus 2424 sent 649 two 1417 disciples 3101,

 21:2 saying 3004 to them, “Go 4198 into the village 2968 opposite 2713 you, and immediately 2117 you will find 2147 a donkey 3688 tied 1210 [there] and a colt 4454 with her; untie 3089 them and bring 71 them to Me.

 21:3 “If 1437 anyone 5100 says 3004 anything 5100 to you, you shall say 3004, ‘The Lord 2962 has 2192 need 5532 of them,’ and immediately 2117 he will send 649 them.”

 21:4 This 3778 took 1096 place 1096 to fulfill 4137 what 3588 was spoken 3004 through 1223 the prophet 4396:

 21:5 “SAY 3004 TO THE DAUGHTER 2364 OF ZION 4622, ‘BEHOLD 2400 YOUR KING 935 IS COMING 2064 TO YOU, GENTLE 4239b, AND MOUNTED 1910 ON A DONKEY 3688, EVEN 2532 ON A COLT 4454, THE FOAL 5207 OF A BEAST 5268 OF BURDEN 5268.’”

 21:6 The disciples 3101 went 4198 and did 4160 just 2531a as Jesus 2424 had instructed 4929 them,

 21:7 and brought 71 the donkey 3688 and the colt 4454, and laid 2007 their coats 2440 on them; and He sat 1940 on the coats 2440.

 21:8 Most 4183 of the crowd 3793 spread 4766 their coats 2440 in the road 3598, and others 243 were cutting 2875 branches 2798 from the trees 1186 and spreading 4766 them in the road 3598.

 21:9 The crowds 3793 going 4254 ahead 4254 of Him, and those 3588 who followed 190, were shouting 2896, “Hosanna 5614 to the Son 5207 of David 1160b; BLESSED 2127 IS HE WHO COMES 2064 IN THE NAME 3686 OF THE LORD 2962; Hosanna 5614 in the highest 5310!”

 21:10 When He had entered 1525 Jerusalem 2414, all 3956 the city 4172 was stirred 4579, saying 3004, “Who 5101 is this 3778?”

 21:11 And the crowds 3793 were saying 3004, “This 3778 is the prophet 4396 Jesus 2424, from Nazareth 3478 in Galilee 1056.”

 21:12 ¶ And Jesus 2424 entered 1525 the temple 2413 and drove 1544b out all 3956 those 3588 who were buying 59 and selling 4453 in the temple 2413, and overturned 2690 the tables 5132 of the money 2855a changers 2855a and the seats 2515 of those 3588 who were selling 4453 doves 4058.

 21:13 And He *said 3004 to them, “It is written 1125, ‘MY HOUSE 3624 SHALL BE CALLED 2564 A HOUSE 3624 OF PRAYER 4335’; but you are making 4160 it a ROBBERS’ 3027 DEN 4693.”

 21:14 ¶ And [the] blind 5185 and [the] lame 5560 came 4334 to Him in the temple 2413, and He healed 2323 them.

 21:15 But when the chief 749 priests 749 and the scribes 1122 saw 3708 the wonderful 2297 things 2297 that He had done 4160, and the children 3816 who were shouting 2896 in the temple 2413, “Hosanna 5614 to the Son 5207 of David 1160b,” they became indignant 23

 21:16 and said 3004 to Him, “Do You hear 191 what 5101 these 3778 [children] are saying 3004?” And Jesus 2424 *said 3004 to them, “Yes 3483a; have you never 3763 read 314, ‘OUT OF THE MOUTH 4750 OF INFANTS 3516 AND NURSING 2337 BABIES 2337 YOU HAVE PREPARED 2675 PRAISE 136 FOR YOURSELF’?”

 21:17 And He left 2641 them and went 1831 out of the city 4172 to Bethany 963, and spent 835 the night 835 there 1563.

 21:18 ¶ Now 1161 in the morning 4404, when He was returning 1877 to the city 4172, He became hungry 3983.

 21:19 Seeing 3708 a lone 1520 fig 4808 tree 4808 by the road 3598, He came 2064 to it and found 2147 nothing 3762 on it except 1508 leaves 5444 only 3440; and He *said 3004 to it, “No 3756 longer 3371 shall there ever 1519 165 be [any] fruit 2590 from you.” And at once 3916 the fig 4808 tree 4808 withered 3583.

 21:20 ¶ Seeing 3708 [this], the disciples 3101 were amazed 2296 and asked 3004, “How 4459 did the fig 4808 tree 4808 wither 3583 [all] at once 3916?”

 21:21 And Jesus 2424 answered 611 and said 3004 to them, “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, if 1437 you have 2192 faith 4102 and do not doubt 1252, you will not only 3440 do 4160 what 3588 was done to the fig 4808 tree 4808, but even 2579 if 2579 you say 3004 to this 3778 mountain 3735, ‘Be taken 142 up and cast 906 into the sea 2281,’ it will happen 1096.

 21:22 “And all 3956 things 3956 you ask 154 in prayer 4335, believing 4100, you will receive 2983.”

 21:23 ¶ When He entered 2064 the temple 2413, the chief 749 priests 749 and the elders 4245 of the people 2992 came 4334 to Him while He was teaching 1321, and said 3004, “By what 4169 authority 1849 are You doing 4160 these 3778 things 3778, and who 5101 gave 1325 You this 3778 authority 1849?”

 21:24 Jesus 2424 said 3004 to them, “I will also 2532 ask 2065 you one 1520 thing 3056, which 3739 if 1437 you tell 3004 Me, I will also 2532 tell 3004 you by what 4169 authority 1849 I do 4160 these 3778 things 3778.

 21:25 “The baptism 908 of John 2491 was from what 4159 [source], from heaven 3772 or 2228 from men 444?” And they [began] reasoning 1260 among 1722 themselves 1438, saying 3004, “If 1437 we say 3004, ‘From heaven 3772,’ He will say 3004 to us, ‘Then 3767 why 1223 5101 did you not believe 4100 him?’

 21:26 “But if 1437 we say 3004, ‘From men 444,’ we fear 5399 the people 3793; for they all 3956 regard 2192 John 2491 as a prophet 4396.”

 21:27 And answering 611 Jesus 2424, they said 3004, “We do not know 3609a.” He also 2532 said 5346 to them, “Neither 3761 will I tell 3004 you by what 4169 authority 1849 I do 4160 these 3778 things 3778.

 21:28 ¶ “But what 5101 do you think 1380? A man 444 had 2192 two 1417 sons 5043, and he came 4334 to the first 4413 and said 3004, ‘Son 5043, go 5217 work 2038b today 4594 in the vineyard 290.’

 21:29 “And he answered 611, ‘I will not’; but afterward 5305 he regretted 3338 it and went 565.

 21:30 “The man came 4334 to the second 1208 and said 3004 the same 5615 thing 5615; and he answered 611, ‘I [will 2309], sir 2962’; but he did not go 565.

 21:31 “Which 5101 of the two 1417 did 4160 the will 2307 of his father 3962?” They *said 3004, “The first 4413.” Jesus 2424 *said 3004 to them, “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you that the tax 5057 collectors 5057 and prostitutes 4204 will get 4254 into the kingdom 932 of God 2316 before 4254 you.

 21:32 “For John 2491 came 2064 to you in the way 3598 of righteousness 1343 and you did not believe 4100 him; but the tax 5057 collectors 5057 and prostitutes 4204 did believe 4100 him; and you, seeing 3708 [this], did not even 3761 feel 3338 remorse 3338 afterward 5305 so as to believe 4100 him.

 21:33 ¶ “Listen 191 to another 243 parable 3850b. There was a landowner 3617 who 3748 PLANTED 5452 A VINEYARD 290 AND PUT 4060 A WALL 5418 AROUND 4060 IT AND DUG 3736 A WINE 3025b PRESS 3025b IN IT, AND BUILT 3618 A TOWER 4444, and rented 1554 it out to vine-growers 1092 and went 589 on a journey 589.

 21:34 “When 3753 the harvest 2590 time 2540 approached 1448, he sent 649 his slaves 1401 to the vine-growers 1092 to receive 2983 his produce 2590.

 21:35 “The vine-growers 1092 took 2983 his slaves 1401 and beat 1194 one 3739, and killed 615 another 3739 1161, and stoned 3036 a third 3739.

 21:36 “Again 3825 he sent 649 another 243 group of slaves 1401 larger 4183 than the first 4413; and they did 4160 the same 5615 thing 5615 to them.

 21:37 “But afterward 5305 he sent 649 his son 5207 to them, saying 3004, ‘They will respect 1788 my son 5207.’

 21:38 “But when the vine-growers 1092 saw 3708 the son 5207, they said 3004 among 1722 themselves 1438, ‘This 3778 is the heir 2818; come 1205, let us kill 615 him and seize 2192 his inheritance 2817.’

 21:39 “They took 2983 him, and threw 1544b him out of the vineyard 290 and killed 615 him.

 21:40 “Therefore 3767 when 3752 the owner 2962 of the vineyard 290 comes 2064, what 5101 will he do 4160 to those 1565 vine-growers 1092?”

 21:41 They *said 3004 to Him, “He will bring 622 those 846 wretches 2556 to a wretched 2560 end 622, and will rent 1554 out the vineyard 290 to other 243 vine-growers 1092 who 3748 will pay 591 him the proceeds 2590 at the [proper] seasons 2540.”

 21:42 ¶ Jesus 2424 *said 3004 to them, “Did you never 3763 read 314 in the Scriptures 1124, ‘THE STONE 3037 WHICH 3739 THE BUILDERS 3618 REJECTED 593, THIS 3778 BECAME 1096 THE CHIEF 2776 CORNER 1137 [stone]; THIS 3778 CAME 1096 ABOUT FROM THE LORD 2962, AND IT IS MARVELOUS 2298 IN OUR EYES 3788’?

 21:43 “Therefore 1223 3778 I say 3004 to you, the kingdom 932 of God 2316 will be taken 142 away 142 from you and given 1325 to a people 1484, producing 4160 the fruit 2590 of it.

 21:44 “And he who falls 4098 on this 3778 stone 3037 will be broken 4917 to pieces 4917; but on whomever 3739 302 it falls 4098, it will scatter 3039 him like 3039 dust 3039.”

 21:45 ¶ When the chief 749 priests 749 and the Pharisees 5330 heard 191 His parables 3850b, they understood 1097 that He was speaking 3004 about 4012 them.

 21:46 When they sought 2212 to seize 2902 Him, they feared 5399 the people 3793, because 1893 they considered 2192 Him to be a prophet 4396.
