Matthew 19
2 Christ healeth the sick: 3 answereth the Pharisees concerning divorcement: 10 sheweth when marriage is necessary: 13 receiveth little children: 16 instructeth the young man how to attain eternal life, 20 and how to be perfect: 23 telleth his disciples how hard it is for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God: 27 and promiseth reward to those that forsake any thing to follow him.
19:1
When 3753 Jesus 2424 had finished 5055 these 3778 words 3056, He departed 3332 from Galilee 1056 and came 2064 into the region 3725 of Judea 2453 beyond 4008 the Jordan 2446;
19:2
and large 4183 crowds 3793 followed 190 Him, and He healed 2323 them there 1563.
19:3
¶ [Some] Pharisees 5330 came 4334 to Jesus, testing 3985 Him and asking 3004, “Is it lawful 1832 [for a man] to divorce 630 his wife 1135 for any 3956 reason 156 at all 3956?”
19:4
And He answered 611 and said 3004, “Have you not read 314 that He who created 2936 [them] from the beginning 746 MADE 4160 THEM MALE 733b AND FEMALE 2338,
19:5
and said 3004, ‘FOR THIS 3778 REASON 1752a A MAN 444 SHALL LEAVE 2641 HIS FATHER 3962 AND MOTHER 3384 AND BE JOINED 2853 TO HIS WIFE 1135, AND THE TWO 1417 SHALL BECOME 1510 1519 ONE 1520 FLESH 4561’?
19:6
“So 5620 they are no 3765 longer 3765 two 1417, but one 1520 flesh 4561. What 3739 therefore 3767 God 2316 has joined 4801 together 4801, let no 3361 man 444 separate 5563.”
19:7
They *said 3004 to Him, “Why 5101 then 3767 did Moses 3475 command 1781 to GIVE 1325 HER A CERTIFICATE 975 OF DIVORCE 647 AND SEND 630 [her] AWAY 630?”
19:8
He *said 3004 to them, “Because 4314 of your hardness 4641 of heart 4641 Moses 3475 permitted 2010 you to divorce 630 your wives 1135; but from the beginning 746 it has not been 1096 this 3779 way 3779.
19:9
“And I say 3004 to you, whoever 3739 302 divorces 630 his wife 1135, except 3361 for immorality 4202, and marries 1060 another 243 woman 243 commits 3429 adultery 3429.”
19:10
¶ The disciples 3101 *said 3004 to Him, “If 1487 the relationship 156 of the man 444 with his wife 1135 is like 3779 this 3779, it is better 4851a not to marry 1060.”
19:11
But He said 3004 to them, “Not all 3956 men 3956 [can] accept 5562 this 3778 statement 3056, but [only] those to whom 3739 it has been given 1325.
19:12
“For there are eunuchs 2135 who 3748 were born 1080 that way 3779 from their mother’s 3384 womb 2836; and there are eunuchs 2135 who 3748 were made 2134 eunuchs 2134 by men 444; and there are [also] eunuchs 2135 who 3748 made 2134 themselves 1438 eunuchs 2134 for the sake 1223 of the kingdom 932 of heaven 3772. He who is able 1410 to accept 5562 [this], let him accept 5562 [it].”
19:13
¶ Then 5119 [some] children 3813 were brought 4374 to Him so 2443 that He might lay 2007 His hands 5495 on them and pray 4336; and the disciples 3101 rebuked 2008 them.
19:14
But Jesus 2424 said 3004, “Let 863 the children 3813 alone 863, and do not hinder 2967 them from coming 2064 to Me; for the kingdom 932 of heaven 3772 belongs 1510 to such 5108 as these 5108.”
19:15
After laying 2007 His hands 5495 on them, He departed 4198 from there 1564.
19:16
¶ And someone 1520 came 4334 to Him and said 3004, “Teacher 1320, what 5101 good 18 thing 18 shall I do 4160 that I may obtain 2192 eternal 166 life 2222?”
19:17
And He said 3004 to him, “Why 5101 are you asking 2065 Me about 4012 what 3588 is good 18? There is [only] One 1520 who is good 18; but if 1487 you wish 2309 to enter 1525 into life 2222, keep 5083 the commandments 1785.”
19:18
[Then] he *said 3004 to Him, “Which 4169 ones 4169?” And Jesus 2424 said 5346, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT 5407 MURDER 5407; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT 3431 ADULTERY 3431; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL 2813; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR 5576 FALSE 5576 WITNESS 5576;
19:19
HONOR 5091 YOUR FATHER 3962 AND MOTHER 3384; and YOU SHALL LOVE 25 YOUR NEIGHBOR 4139 AS YOURSELF 4572.”
19:20
The young 3495 man 3495 *said 3004 to Him, “All 3956 these 3778 things 3778 I have kept 5442; what 5101 am 5302 I still 2089 lacking 5302?”
19:21
Jesus 2424 said 5346 to him, “If 1487 you wish 2309 to be complete 5046, go 5217 [and] sell 4453 your possessions 5225 and give 1325 to [the] poor 4434, and you will have 2192 treasure 2344 in heaven 3772; and come 1204, follow 190 Me.”
19:22
But when the young 3495 man 3495 heard 191 this 3778 statement 3056, he went 565 away 565 grieving 3076; for he was one who owned 2192 much 4183 property 2933.
19:23
¶ And Jesus 2424 said 3004 to His disciples 3101, “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, it is hard 1423 for a rich 4145 man 4145 to enter 1525 the kingdom 932 of heaven 3772.
19:24
“Again 3825 I say 3004 to you, it is easier 2123 for a camel 2574 to go through 1223 the eye 5144a of a needle 4476, than 2228 for a rich 4145 man 4145 to enter 1525 the kingdom 932 of God 2316.”
19:25
When the disciples 3101 heard 191 [this], they were very 4970 astonished 1605 and said 3004, “Then 686 who 5101 can 1410 be saved 4982?”
19:26
And looking 1689 at [them] Jesus 2424 said 3004 to them, “With people 444 this 3778 is impossible 102, but with God 2316 all 3956 things 3956 are possible 1415.”
19:27
¶ Then 5119 Peter 4074 said 3004 to Him, “Behold 2400, we have left 863 everything 3956 and followed 190 You; what 5101 then 686 will there be for us?”
19:28
And Jesus 2424 said 3004 to them, “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, that you who have followed 190 Me, in the regeneration 3824 when 3752 the Son 5207 of Man 444 will sit 2523 on His glorious 1391 throne 2362, you also 2532 shall sit 2521 upon twelve 1427 thrones 2362, judging 2919 the twelve 1427 tribes 5443 of Israel 2474.
19:29
“And everyone 3956 who 3748 has left 863 houses 3614 or 2228 brothers 80 or 2228 sisters 79 or 2228 father 3962 or 2228 mother 3384 or 2228 children 5043 or 2228 farms 68 for My name’s 3686 sake 1752a, will receive 2983 many 4179 times 4179 as much 4179, and will inherit 2816 eternal 166 life 2222.
19:30
“But many 4183 [who are] first 4413 will be last 2078; and [the] last 2078, first 4413.
