his servantº

then he turnedºº
and rebelledºº
against him. |

24:1 ¶
In his days Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel came up, and Yehoyaqim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him. |

And

יָהוֶהº
sentºº
against himº
bandsº
of the
Ca$dîm
כַּשׂדִּים,º
and bandsº
of the
´Árammîm
אֲרַמִּים,º
and bandsº
of the
Mô´ävîm
מוֹאָבִים,º
and bandsº
of the childrenº
of
`Ammôn
עַמּוֹן,º
and sentºº
them against
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָהº
to destroyºº
it, according to the wordº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
whichº
he spakeºº
byº
his servantsº
the prophets.º |

24:2
And Yahweh sent against him bands of the Kasdim, and bands of the Arammim, and bands of the Moavim, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Yehudah to destroy it, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake by his servants the prophets. |

[them] out ofºº
his sight,º
for the sinsº

24:3
Surely at the commandment of Yahweh came [this] upon Yehudah, to remove [them] out of his sight, for the sins of Menashsheh, according to all that he did; |

And alsoº
for the innocentº
bloodº
thatº
he shed:ºº
for he filledººº
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַםº
with innocentº
blood;º
which
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
wouldºº
notº
pardon.ºº |

24:4
And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Yerushalaim with innocent blood; which Yahweh would not pardon. |

24:5 ¶
Now the restº
of the actsº
of
Yæhôyäkîm
יְהוֹיָקִים,º
and allº
thatº
he did,ºº
[are] theyº
notº
writtenºº
inº
the bookº
of the chroniclesºº
of the kingsº
of
Yæhûðà
יְהוּדָה?º |

24:5 ¶
Now the rest of the acts of Yehoyaqim, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah? |

his fathers:º

יְהוֹיָכִיןº
his sonº
reignedºº
in his stead.º |

So Yehoyaqim slept with his fathers: and Yehoyakhin his son reigned in his stead. |

And the kingº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִםº
cameºº
notº
againºº
any moreº
out of his land:ºº
forº
the kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶלº
had takenºº
from the riverººº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִםº
untoº
the riverººº

And the king of Mitzrayim came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Bavel had taken from the river of Mitzrayim unto the river Perath all that pertained to the king of Mitzrayim. |

the daughterº

אֶלנָתָןº

Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.ºº |

24:8 ¶
Yehoyakhin [was] eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Yerushalaim three months. And his mother's name [was] Nechushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Yerushalaim. |

And he didºº
[that which was] evilº
in the sightº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
according to allº
thatº
his fatherº
had done.ºº |

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that his father had done. |
|
24:10 ¶
At thatº

the servantsº

Nævû¢aðne´xxar
נְבוּכַדנֶאצַּרº
kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶלº
came upºº
against
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,º
and the cityº
was besieged.ººº |

24:10 ¶
At that time the servants of Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel came up against Yerushalaim, and the city was besieged. |
|
24:11
And

of

בָּבֶלº
cameºº
againstº
the city,º
and his servantsº
did besiegeººº
it. |

And Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel came against the city, and his servants did besiege it. |

and his mother,º
and his servants,º

him in the eighthº

And Yehoyakhin the king of Yehudah went out to the king of Bavel, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Bavel took him in the eighth year of his reign. |

and the treasuresº
of the king'sº
house,º
and cut in piecesººº

the vesselsº
of goldº

in the templeº

And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Shelomoh king of Yisrael had made in the temple of Yahweh, as Yahweh had said. |

And he carried awayººº

and allº
the princes,º
and allº
the mighty menº
of valour,º
[even] tenº
thousandº
captives,ºº
and allº
the craftsmenº
and smiths:º
noneº
remained,ºº
saveº
the poorest sortº
of the peopleº
of the land.º |

And he carried away all Yerushalaim, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, [even] ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land. |

And he carried awayººº

And he carried away Yehoyakhin to Bavel, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, [those] carried he into captivity from Yerushalaim to Bavel. |

And allº

of might,º
[even] sevenº
thousand,º
and craftsmenº
and smithsº
a thousand,º
allº
[that were] strongº
[and] aptºº
for war,º
even them the kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶלº
broughtºº
captiveº
to
Bävel
בָּבֶל.º |

24:16
And all the men of might, [even] seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all [that were] strong [and] apt for war, even them the king of Bavel brought captive to Bavel. |
|
24:17 ¶
And the kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶלº
madeºº
Mattanyà
מַתַּניָהº
his father's brotherº
kingºº
in his stead,º
and changedººº
his nameº
to
Xiðkiyyà
צִדקִיָּה.º |
|
24:17 ¶
And the king of Bavel made Mattanyah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Tzidqiyyah. |

[was] twentyº
and oneº

oldº
when he began to reign,ºº
and he reignedºº
elevenºº

Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.º
And his mother'sº

חֲמוּטַל,º
the daughterº
of
Yirmæyà
יִרמְיָהº
of
Livnà
לִבנָה.ºº |

Tzidqiyyah [was] twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalaim. And his mother's name [was] Chamutal, the daughter of Yirmeyah of Livnah. |

And he didºº
[that which was] evilº
in the sightº

Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
according to allº
thatº
Yæhôyäkîm
יְהוֹיָקִיםº
had done.ºº |

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Yehoyaqim had done. |

יְהוּדָה,º

he had cast them outººº

his presence,º

rebelledºº
against the kingº
of
Bävel
בָּבֶל.º |

24:20
For through the anger of Yahweh it came to pass in Yerushalaim and Yehudah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Tzidqiyyah rebelled against the king of Bavel. |
