And it came to pass, when king Chizqiyyah heard [it], that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of Yahweh. |

[was] over°
the household,°

the scribe,°°
and the elders°
of the priests,°
covered°°
with sackcloth,°
to°

the prophet°
the son°

And he sent Elyaqim, which [was] over the household, and Shevna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Yeshayah the prophet the son of Amotz. |

him, Thus°

Çizkiyyà
חִזקִיָּה,°
This°
day°
[is] a day°
of trouble,°
and of rebuke,°
and blasphemy:°
for°
the children°
are come°°
to°
the birth,°
and [there is] not°
strength°
to bring forth.°° |

And they said unto him, Thus saith Chizqiyyah, This day [is] a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and [there is] not strength to bring forth. |

It may be Yahweh thy Elohim will hear all the words of Rav-Shaqeh, whom the king of Ashshur his adon hath sent to reproach the living Elohim; and will reprove the words which Yahweh thy Elohim hath heard: wherefore lift up [thy] prayer for the remnant that are left. |

And Yeshayah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your adon, Thus saith Yahweh, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Ashshur have blasphemed me. |

Behold,°
I will send°°
a blast°
upon him, and he shall hear°°
a rumour,°
and shall return°°
to his own land;°
and I will cause him to fall°°
by the sword°
in his own land.° |

So Rav-Shaqeh returned, and found the king of Ashshur warring against Livnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lakhish. |

to fight°°

And when he heard say of Tirhaqah king of Kush, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Chizqiyyah, saying, |

be delivered°°

of the king°

Thus shall ye speak to Chizqiyyah king of Yehudah, saying, Let not thy Elohim in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Yerushalaim shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Ashshur. |

by destroying them utterly:°°

Have the elohim of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; [as] Gozan, and Charan, and Retzef, and the children of Eden which [were] in Telassar? |

Where [is] the king of Chamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sefarwayim, of Hena, and Iwwah? |

of the messengers,°

it: and

into the house°

And Chizqiyyah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Chizqiyyah went up into the house of Yahweh, and spread it before Yahweh. |

the kingdoms°
of the earth;°

And Chizqiyyah prayed before Yahweh, and said, O Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, which dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou art the Elohim, [even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. |

Of a truth, Yahweh, the kings of Ashshur have destroyed the nations and their lands, |

into the fire:°

the work°
of men's°
hands,°
wood°
and stone:°
therefore they have destroyed°°

Then Yeshayah the son of Amotz sent to Chizqiyyah, saying, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, [That] which thou hast prayed to me against Sancheriv king of Ashshur I have heard. |

him; The virgin°
the daughter°

Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹן°
hath despised°°
thee, [and] laughed thee to scorn;°°

This [is] the word that Yahweh hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Tziyyon hath despised thee, [and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Yerushalaim hath shaken her head at thee. |

By thy messengers thou hast reproached Yahweh, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Levanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, [and] the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, [and into] the forest of his Karmel. |

[as] the grass°

on the housetops,°

Therefore thus saith Yahweh concerning the king of Ashshur, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it. |

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of Yahweh went out, and smote in the camp of the Ashshurim an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses. |

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisrokh his elohim, that Adrammelekh and Saretzer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esar-Chaddon his son reigned in his stead. |
