In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Set thy house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. |

the LORD,º

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto Jehovah, saying, |

Then he turnedººº
his faceº
toº
the wall,º
and prayedºº
untoº
the LORD,º
saying,ºº |
 20:3
Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. |
|
 20:3
I beseechº
thee,º
O LORD,º
rememberºº
nowºº
howº
I have walkedºº
beforeº
thee in truthº
and with a perfectº
heart,º
and have doneºº
[that which is] goodº
in thy sight.º
And Hezekiahº
weptººº
sore.ºº |
 20:4
And it came to pass, before Isaiah was gone out into the middle part of the city, that the word of Jehovah came to him, saying, |
|
 20:4
And it came to pass,º
aforeº
Isaiahº
was gone outºº
into the middleº
court,ººº
that the wordº
of the LORDº
cameº
toº
him, saying,ºº |
 20:5
Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee; on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of Jehovah. |
|
 20:5
Turn again,ºº
and tellººº
Hezekiahº
the captainº
of my people,º
Thusº
saithºº
the LORD,º
the Godº
of Davidº
thy father,º
I have heardººº
thy prayer,º
I have seenººº
thy tears:º
behold,º
I will healºº
thee: on the thirdº
dayº
thou shalt go upºº
unto the houseº
of the LORD.º |
 20:6
And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake. |
|
 20:6
And I will addºº
untoº
thy daysº
fifteenºº
years;º
and I will deliverºº
thee and thisº
cityº
out of the handºº
of the kingº
of Assyria;º
and I will defendººº
thisº
cityº
for mine own sake,º
and for my servantº
David'sº
sake.º |
 20:7
And Isaiah said, Take a cake of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered. |
|
 20:7
And Isaiahº

a lumpº
of figs.º
And they tookºº

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that Jehovah will heal me, and that I shall go up unto the house of Jehovah the third day? |
|
 20:8 ¶
And Hezekiahº
saidºº
untoº
Isaiah,º
Whatº
[shall be] the signº
thatº
the LORDº
will healºº
me, and that I shall go upºº
into the houseº
of the LORDº
the thirdº
day?º |
 20:9
And Isaiah said, This shall be the sign unto thee from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps? |
|
 20:9
And Isaiahº
said,ºº
Thisº
signº
shalt thou have ofºº
the LORD,º
thatº
the LORDº
will doººº
the thingº
thatº
he hath spoken:ºº
shall the shadowº
go forwardºº
tenº
degrees,º
orº
go backºº
tenº
degrees?º |
 20:10
And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to decline ten steps: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten steps. |
|
 20:10
And Hezekiahº
answered,ºº
It is a light thingºº
for the shadowº
to go downºº
tenº
degrees:º
nay,º
butº
let the shadowº
returnºº
backwardº
tenº
degrees.º |
 20:11
And Isaiah the prophet cried unto Jehovah; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz. |

And Isaiahº
the prophetº
criedºº
untoº
the LORD:º
and he broughtººº

byº
whichº
it had gone downºº
in the dialº
of Ahaz.º |

At that time Berodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick. |
|
 20:12 ¶
At thatº
timeº
Berodachbaladan,º
the sonº
of Baladan,º
kingº
of Babylon,º
sentºº
lettersº
and a presentº
untoº
Hezekiah:º
forº
he had heardºº
thatº
Hezekiahº
had been sick.ºº |
 20:13
And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and showed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not. |
|
 20:13
And Hezekiahº
hearkenedºº
untoº
them, and shewedºº
themº
allº
the houseº
of his precious things,ºº
the silver,º
and the gold,º
and the spices,º
and the preciousº
ointment,º
and [all] the houseº
of his armour,º
and allº
thatº
was foundºº
in his treasures:º
there wasº
nothingºº
in his house,º
nor in allº
his dominion,º
thatº
Hezekiahº
shewedºº
them not.º |
 20:14 ¶
Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon. |
|
 20:14 ¶
Then cameºº
Isaiahº
the prophetº
untoº
kingº
Hezekiah,º
and saidºº
untoº
him, Whatº
saidºº
theseº
men?ºº
and from whenceºº
cameºº
they untoº
thee? And Hezekiahº
said,ºº
They are comeºº
from a farº
country,ººº
[even] from Babylon.ºº |
 20:15
And he said, What have they seen in thy house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in my house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them. |
|
 20:15
And he said,ºº
Whatº
have they seenºº
in thine house?º
And Hezekiahº
answered,ººº
Allº
[the things] thatº
[are] in mine houseº
have they seen:ºº
there isº
nothingºº
among my treasuresº
thatº
I have notº
shewedºº
them. |
 20:16
And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of Jehovah. |
|
 20:16
And Isaiahº
saidºº
untoº
Hezekiah,º
Hearºº
the wordº
of the LORD.º |
 20:17
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith Jehovah. |
|
 20:17
Behold,º
the daysº
come,ºº
that allº

thy fathersº
have laid up in storeºº
untoº
thisº
day,º
shall be carriedºº
into Babylon:º
nothingºº
shall be left,ºº
saithºº
the LORD.º |
 20:18
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. |
|
 20:18
And of thy sonsºº
thatº
shall issueºº
fromº
thee, whichº
thou shalt beget,ºº
shall they take away;ºº
and they shall beº
eunuchsº
in the palaceº
of the kingº
of Babylon.º |
 20:19
Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of Jehovah which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, Is it not so, if peace and truth shall be in my days? |
|
 20:19
Then saidºº
Hezekiahº
untoº
Isaiah,º
Goodº
[is] the wordº
of the LORDº
whichº
thou hast spoken.ºº
And he said,ºº
[Is it] notº
[good], ifº
peaceº
and truthº
beº
in my days?º |
 20:20 ¶
Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
|
 20:20 ¶
And the restº
of the actsº
of Hezekiah,º
and allº
his might,º
and howº
he madeººº
a pool,º
and a conduit,º
and broughtººº
waterº
into the city,º
[are] theyº
notº
writtenºº
inº
the bookº
of the chroniclesºº
of the kingsº
of Judah?º |
 20:21
And Hezekiah slept with his fathers; and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead. |
|
 20:21
And Hezekiahº
sleptºº
withº
his fathers:º
and Manassehº
his sonº
reignedºº
in his stead.º |
