Luke 13

1 Christ preacheth repentance upon the punishment of the Galileans, and others. 6 The fruitless fig tree may not stand. 11 He healeth the crooked woman: 18 sheweth the powerful working of the Word in the hearts of his chosen, by the parable of the grain of mustard seed, and of leaven: 24 exhorteth to enter in at the strait gate, 31 and reproveth Herod and Jerusalem.

 13:1 Now 1161 on the same 846 occasion 2540 there were some 5100 present 3918b who reported 518 to Him about 4012 the Galileans 1057 whose 3739 blood 129 Pilate 4091 had mixed 3396 with their sacrifices 2378.

 13:2 And Jesus said 3004 to them, “Do you suppose 1380 that these 3778 Galileans 1057 were [greater] sinners 268 than 3844 all 3956 [other] Galileans 1057 because 3754 they suffered 3958 this 3778 [fate]?

 13:3 “I tell 3004 you, no 3780, but unless 1437 3361 you repent 3340, you will all 3956 likewise 3668 perish 622.

 13:4 “Or 2228 do you suppose 1380 that those 1565 eighteen 1178a on whom 3739 the tower 4444 in Siloam 4611 fell 4098 and killed 615 them were [worse] culprits 3781 than 3844 all 3956 the men 444 who live 2730 in Jerusalem 2419?

 13:5 “I tell 3004 you, no 3780, but unless 1437 3361 you repent 3340, you will all 3956 likewise 5615 perish 622.”

 13:6 ¶ And He [began] telling 3004 this 3778 parable 3850b: “A man 5100 had 2192 a fig 4808 tree 4808 which had been planted 5452 in his vineyard 290; and he came 2064 looking 2212 for fruit 2590 on it and did not find 2147 any.

 13:7 “And he said 3004 to the vineyard-keeper 289, ‘Behold 2400, for three 5140 years 2094 I have come 2064 looking 2212 for fruit 2590 on this 3778 fig 4808 tree 4808 without 2532 3756 finding 2147 any. Cut 1581 it down 1581! Why 2444 does it even 2532 use 2673 up the ground 1093?’

 13:8 “And he answered 611 and said 3004 to him, ‘Let 863 it alone 863, sir 2962, for this 3778 year 2094 too 2532, until 2193 I dig 4626 around 4012 it and put 906 in fertilizer 2874b;

 13:9 and if 2579 it bears 4160 fruit 2590 next 1519 3195 year, [fine]; but if 1487 not, cut 1581 it down 1581.’”

 13:10 ¶ And He was teaching 1321 in one 1520 of the synagogues 4864 on the Sabbath 4521.

 13:11 And there was a woman 1135 who for eighteen 1178a years 2094 had had 2192 a sickness 769 caused by a spirit 4151; and she was bent 4794 double 4794, and could 1410 not straighten 352b up at all 3838.

 13:12 When Jesus 2424 saw 3708 her, He called 4377 her over 4377 and said 3004 to her, “Woman 1135, you are freed 630 from your sickness 769.”

 13:13 And He laid 2007 His hands 5495 on her; and immediately 3916 she was made 461 erect 461 again 461 and [began] glorifying 1392 God 2316.

 13:14 But the synagogue 752 official 752, indignant 23 because 3754 Jesus 2424 had healed 2323 on the Sabbath 4521, [began] saying 3004 to the crowd 3793 in response 611, “There are six 1803 days 2250 in which 3739 work 2038b should 1163 be done 2038b; so 3767 come 2064 during 1722 them and get 2323 healed 2323, and not on the Sabbath 4521 day 2250.”

 13:15 But the Lord 2962 answered 611 him and said 3004, “You hypocrites 5273, does not each 1538 of you on the Sabbath 4521 untie 3089 his ox 1016 or 2228 his donkey 3688 from the stall 5336 and lead 520 him away 520 to water 4222 [him]?

 13:16 “And this 3778 woman 3778, a daughter 2364 of Abraham 11 as she is, whom 3739 Satan 4567 has bound 1210 for eighteen 1176 3638 long 2400 years 2094, should 1163 she not have been released 3089 from this 3778 bond 1199 on the Sabbath 4521 day 2250?”

 13:17 As He said 3004 this 3778, all 3956 His opponents 480 were being humiliated 2617b; and the entire 3956 crowd 3793 was rejoicing 5463 over 1909 all 3956 the glorious 1741 things 1741 being 1096 done 1096 by Him.

 13:18 ¶ So 3767 He was saying 3004, “What 5101 is the kingdom 932 of God 2316 like 3664, and to what 5101 shall I compare 3666 it?

 13:19 “It is like 3664 a mustard 4615 seed 2848, which 3739 a man 444 took 2983 and threw 906 into his own 1438 garden 2779; and it grew 837 and became 1096 a tree 1186, and THE BIRDS 4071 OF THE AIR 3772 NESTED 2681 IN ITS BRANCHES 2798.”

 13:20 ¶ And again 3825 He said 3004, “To what 5101 shall I compare 3666 the kingdom 932 of God 2316?

 13:21 “It is like 3664 leaven 2219, which 3739 a woman 1135 took 2983 and hid 2928 in three 5140 pecks 4568 of flour 224 until 2193 it was all 3650 leavened 2220.”

 13:22 ¶ And He was passing 1279 through 1279 from one city 4172 and village 2968 to another 2596, teaching 1321, and proceeding 4160 on His way 4197 to Jerusalem 2414.

 13:23 And someone 5100 said 3004 to Him, “Lord 2962, are there [just] a few 3641 who are being saved 4982?” And He said 3004 to them,

 13:24 “Strive 75 to enter 1525 through 1223 the narrow 4728 door 2374; for many 4183, I tell 3004 you, will seek 2212 to enter 1525 and will not be able 2480.

 13:25 “Once 575 3739 the head 3617 of the house 3617 gets 1453 up and shuts 608 the door 2374, and you begin 757 to stand 2476 outside 1854 and knock 2925 on the door 2374, saying 3004, ‘Lord 2962, open 455 up to us!’ then 2532 He will answer 611 and say 3004 to you, ‘I do not know 3609a where 4159 you are from.’

 13:26 “Then 5119 you will begin 757 to say 3004, ‘We ate 2068 and drank 4095 in Your presence 1799, and You taught 1321 in our streets 4116’;

 13:27 and He will say 3004, ‘I tell 3004 you, I do not know 3609a where 4159 you are from; DEPART 868 FROM ME, ALL 3956 YOU EVILDOERS 93.’

 13:28 “In that place 1563 there 1510 will be weeping 2805 and gnashing 1030 of teeth 3599 when 3752 you see 3708 Abraham 11 and Isaac 2464 and Jacob 2384 and all 3956 the prophets 4396 in the kingdom 932 of God 2316, but yourselves 4771 being thrown 1544b out.

 13:29 “And they will come 2240 from east 395 and west 1424 and from north 1005 and south 3558, and will recline 347 [at the table] in the kingdom 932 of God 2316.

 13:30 “And behold 2400, [some] are last 2078 who 3739 will be first 4413 and [some] are first 4413 who 3739 will be last 2078.”

 13:31 ¶ Just 846 at that time 5610 some 5100 Pharisees 5330 approached 4334, saying 3004 to Him, “Go 1831 away 1831, leave 4198 here 1782, for Herod 2264 wants 2309 to kill 615 You.”

 13:32 And He said 3004 to them, “Go 4198 and tell 3004 that fox 258, ‘Behold 2400, I cast 1544b out demons 1140 and perform 658 cures 2392 today 4594 and tomorrow 839, and the third 5154 [day] I reach 5048 My goal 5048.’

 13:33 “Nevertheless 4133 I must 1163 journey 4198 on today 4594 and tomorrow 839 and the next 2192 [day]; for it cannot 1735 3756 be that a prophet 4396 would perish 622 outside 1854 of Jerusalem 2419.

 13:34 “O Jerusalem 2419, Jerusalem 2419, [the city] that kills 615 the prophets 4396 and stones 3036 those 3588 sent 649 to her! How 4212 often 4212 I wanted 2309 to gather 1996 your children 5043 together 1996, just 3739 5158 as a hen 3733 [gathers] her brood 3555 under 5259 her wings 4420, and you would 2309 not [have it]!

 13:35 “Behold 2400, your house 3624 is left 863 to you [desolate]; and I say 3004 to you, you will not see 3708 Me until 2193 [the time] comes 2240 when 3753 you say 3004, ‘BLESSED 2127 IS HE WHO COMES 2064 IN THE NAME 3686 OF THE LORD 2962!’”
