1 Kings 9

1 God's Covenant in a vision with Solomon. 10 The mutual presents of Solomon and Hiram. 15 In Solomon's works the Gentiles were his bondmen, the Israelites honourable servants. 24 Pharaoh's daughter removeth to her house. 25 Solomon's yearly solemn sacrifices. 26 His navy fetcheth gold from Ophir.

 9:1 Now it came 1961 about when Solomon 8010 had finished 3615 building 1129 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, and the king’s 4428 house 1004, and all 3605 that Solomon 8010 desired 2837 2654a to do 6213a,

 9:2 that the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 to Solomon 8010 a second 8145 time 8145, as He had appeared 7200 to him at Gibeon 1391.

 9:3 The LORD 3068 said 559 to him, “I have heard 8085 your prayer 8605 and your supplication 8467, which 834 you have made 2603a before 6440 Me; I have consecrated 6942 this 2088 house 1004 which 834 you have built 1129 by putting 7760 My name 8034 there 8033 forever 5704 5769, and My eyes 5869 and My heart 3820 will be there 8033 perpetually 3605 3117.

 9:4 “As for you, if 518 you will walk 1980 before 6440 Me as your father 1 David 1732 walked 1980, in integrity 8537 of heart 3824 and uprightness 3476, doing 6213a according to all 3605 that I have commanded 6680 you [and] will keep 8104 My statutes 2706 and My ordinances 4941,

 9:5 then I will establish 6965 the throne 3678 of your kingdom 4467 over 5921 Israel 3478 forever 5769, just 3512c as I promised 1696 to your father 1 David 1732, saying 559, ‘You shall not lack 3772 a man 376 on the throne 3678 of Israel 3478.’

 9:6 ¶ “But if 518 you or your sons 1121 indeed 7725 turn 7725 away 7725 from following 310 Me, and do not keep 8104 My commandments 4687 and My statutes 2708 which 834 I have set 5414 before 6440 you, and go 1980 and serve 5647 other 312 gods 430 and worship 7812 them,

 9:7 then I will cut 3772 off 3772 Israel 3478 from the land 127 which 834 I have given 5414 them, and the house 1004 which 834 I have consecrated 6942 for My name 8034, I will cast 7971 out of My sight 6440. So Israel 3478 will become 1961 a proverb 4912 and a byword 8148 among all 3605 peoples 5971a.

 9:8 “And this 2088 house 1004 will become 1961 a heap 5945a of ruins 5945a; everyone 3605 who passes 5674a by will be astonished 8074 and hiss 8319 and say 559, ‘Why 5921 4100 has the LORD 3068 done 6213a thus 3602 to this 2088 land 776 and to this 2088 house 1004?’

 9:9 “And they will say 559, ‘Because 5921 834 they forsook 5800a the LORD 3068 their God 430, who 834 brought 3318 their fathers 1 out of the land 776 of Egypt 4714, and adopted 2388 other 312 gods 430 and worshiped 7812 them and served 5647 them, therefore 5921 3651 the LORD 3068 has brought 935 all 3605 this 2088 adversity 7463a on them.’”

 9:10 ¶ It came 1961 about at the end 7097a of twenty 6242 years 8141 in which 834 Solomon 8010 had built 1129 the two 8147 houses 1004, the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and the king’s 4428 house 1004

 9:11 (Hiram 2438 king 4428 of Tyre 6865 had supplied 5375 Solomon 8010 with cedar 730 and cypress 1265 timber 6086 and gold 2091 according to all 3605 his desire 2656), then 227 King 4428 Solomon 8010 gave 5414 Hiram 2438 twenty 6242 cities 5892b in the land 776 of Galilee 1551.

 9:12 So Hiram 2438 came 3318 out from Tyre 6865 to see 7200 the cities 5892b which 834 Solomon 8010 had given 5414 him, and they did not please 3474 5869 him.

 9:13 He said 559, “What 4100 are these 428 cities 5892b which 834 you have given 5414 me, my brother 251?” So they were called 7121 the land 776 of Cabul 3521 to this 2088 day 3117.

 9:14 And Hiram 2438 sent 7971 to the king 4428 120 3967 6242 talents 3603 of gold 2091.

 9:15 ¶ Now this 2088 is the account 1697 of the forced 4522 labor 4522 which 834 King 4428 Solomon 8010 levied 5927 to build 1129 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, his own house 1004, the Millo 4407, the wall 2346 of Jerusalem 3389, Hazor 2674, Megiddo 4023b, and Gezer 1507.

 9:16 [For] Pharaoh 6547 king 4428 of Egypt 4714 had gone 5927 up and captured 3920 Gezer 1507 and burned 8313 it with fire 784, and killed 2026 the Canaanites 3669a who lived 3427 in the city 5892b, and had given 5414 it [as] a dowry 7964 to his daughter 1323, Solomon’s 8010 wife 802.

 9:17 So Solomon 8010 rebuilt 1129 Gezer 1507 and the lower 8481 Beth-horon 1032

 9:18 and Baalath 1191 and Tamar 8559 in the wilderness 4057b, in the land 776 [of Judah],

 9:19 and all 3605 the storage 4543 cities 5892b which 834 Solomon 8010 had 1961, even the cities 5892b for his chariots 7393 and the cities 5892b for his horsemen 6571b, and all 2837 that it pleased 2836a 2837 Solomon 8010 to build 1129 in Jerusalem 3389, in Lebanon 3844, and in all 3605 the land 776 under his rule 4475.

 9:20 [As for] all 3605 the people 5971a who were left 3498 of the Amorites 567, the Hittites 2850, the Perizzites 6522, the Hivites 2340 and the Jebusites 2983, who 834 were not of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478,

 9:21 their descendants 1121 who 834 were left 3498 after 310 them in the land 776 whom 834 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 were unable 3808 3201 to destroy 2763a utterly 2763a, from them Solomon 8010 levied 5927 forced 4522 laborers 5647 4522, even 5704 to this 2088 day 3117.

 9:22 But Solomon 8010 did not make 5414 slaves 5650 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478; for they were men 376 of war 4421, his servants 5650, his princes 8269, his captains 7991c, his chariot 7393 commanders 8269, and his horsemen 6571b.

 9:23 ¶ These 428 [were] the chief 8269 officers 5324 who 834 [were] over 5921 Solomon’s 8010 work 4399, five 2568 hundred 3967 and fifty 2572, who ruled 7287a over the people 5971a doing 6213a the work 4399.

 9:24 ¶ As soon 389 as Pharaoh’s 6547 daughter 1323 came 5927 up from the city 5892b of David 1732 to her house 1004 which 834 [Solomon] had built 1129 for her, then 227 he built 1129 the Millo 4407.

 9:25 ¶ Now three 7969 times 6471 in a year 8141 Solomon 8010 offered 5927 burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and peace 8002 offerings 8002 on the altar 4196 which 834 he built 1129 to the LORD 3068, burning 6999 incense 6999 with them [on the altar] which 834 [was] before 6440 the LORD 3068. So he finished 7999a the house 1004.

 9:26 ¶ King 4428 Solomon 8010 also built 6213a a fleet 590 of ships 590 in Ezion-geber 6100, which 834 is near 854 Eloth 359 on the shore 8193 of the Red 5488 3220 Sea 3220, in the land 776 of Edom 112b.

 9:27 And Hiram 2438 sent 7971 his servants 5650 with the fleet 590, sailors 376 591 who knew 3045 the sea 3220, along 5973 with the servants 5650 of Solomon 8010.

 9:28 They went 935 to Ophir 211 and took 3947 four 702 hundred 3967 and twenty 6242 talents 3603 of gold 2091 from there 8033, and brought 935 [it] to King 4428 Solomon 8010.
