Song of Songs 1

1 The Church's love unto Christ. 5 She confesseth her deformity, 7 and prayeth to be directed to his flock. 8 Christ directeth her to the shepherd's tents: 9 and shewing his love to her, 11 giveth her gracious promises. 12 The Church and Christ congratulate one another.

 1:2 ¶ “May he kiss 5401a me with the kisses 5390 of his mouth 6310! For your love 1730 is better 2896a than 4480 wine 3196.

 1:3 “Your oils 8081 have a pleasing 2896a fragrance 7381b, Your name 8034 is [like] purified 7385a oil 8081; Therefore 5921 3651 the maidens 5959 love 157 you.

 1:4 “Draw 4900 me after 310 you [and] let us run 7323 [together]! The king 4428 has brought 935 me into his chambers 2315.” ¶ “We will rejoice 1523 in you and be glad 8055; We will extol 2142 your love 1730 more 4480 than 4480 wine 3196. Rightly 4339 do they love 157 you.”

 1:5 ¶ “I am black 7838 but lovely 5000, O daughters 1323 of Jerusalem 3389, Like the tents 168 of Kedar 6938, Like the curtains 3407 of Solomon 8010.

 1:6 “Do not stare 7200 at me because I am swarthy 7840, For the sun 8121 has burned 7805 me. My mother’s 517 sons 1121 were angry 2734 with me; They made 7760 me caretaker 5201 of the vineyards 3754, [But] I have not taken 5201 care 5201 of my own vineyard 3754.

 1:7 “Tell 5046 me, O you whom 7945 my soul 5315 loves 157, Where 351a do you pasture 7462a [your flock], Where 351a do you make [it] lie 7257 down 7257 at noon 6672a? For why 4100 should I be like one who veils 5844a herself Beside 5921 the flocks 5739 of your companions 2270?”

 1:8 ¶ “If 518 you yourself do not know 3045, Most beautiful 3303 among women 802, Go 3318 forth 3318 on the trail 6119 of the flock 6629 And pasture 7462a your young 1429 goats 1429 By the tents 4908 of the shepherds 7462a.

 1:9 ¶ “To me, my darling 7474, you are like 1819 My mare 5484 among the chariots 7393 of Pharaoh 6547.

 1:10 “Your cheeks 3895 are lovely 4998 with ornaments 8447, Your neck 6677 with strings 2737 of beads 2737.”

 1:11 ¶ “We will make 6213a for you ornaments 8447 of gold 2091 With beads 5351 of silver 3701.”

 1:12 ¶ “While 5704 the king 4428 was at his table 4524, My perfume 5373 gave 5414 forth its fragrance 7381b.

 1:16 ¶ “How 2009 handsome 3303 you are, my beloved 1730, [And] so 637 pleasant 5273a! Indeed 637, our couch 6210 is luxuriant 7488!
