1 Christ setteth forth the graces of the Church. 8 He sheweth his love to her. 16 The Church prayeth to be made fit for his presence.

 4:1 “How 2009 beautiful 3303 you are, my darling 7474, How 2009 beautiful 3303 you are! Your eyes 5869 are [like] doves 3123 behind 4480 1157 your veil 6777; Your hair 8181 is like a flock 5739 of goats 5795 That have descended 1570 from Mount 2022 Gilead 1568.

 4:2 “Your teeth 8127 are like a flock 5739 of [newly] shorn 7094 ewes Which 7945 have come 5927 up from [their] washing 7367, All 3605 of which 7945 bear 8382 twins 8382, And not one 369 among them has lost 7909b her young 7909b.

 4:3 “Your lips 8193 are like a scarlet 8144 thread 2339, And your mouth 4057a is lovely 5000. Your temples 7541 are like a slice 6400 of a pomegranate 7416 Behind 4480 1157 your veil 6777.

 4:4 “Your neck 6677 is like the tower 4026 of David 1732, Built 1129 with rows 8530 of stones 8530 On which are hung 8518 a thousand 505 shields 4043, All 3605 the round shields 7982 of the mighty 1368 men 1368.

 4:5 “Your two 8147 breasts 7699a are like two 8147 fawns 6082, Twins 8420b of a gazelle 6646 Which feed 7462a among the lilies 7799.

 4:6 “Until 5704 the cool 6315 of the day 3117 When the shadows 6738 flee 5127 away, I will go 1980 my way 1980 to the mountain 2022 of myrrh 4753 And to the hill 1389 of frankincense 3828.

 4:7 ¶ “You are altogether 3605 beautiful 3303, my darling 7474, And there 369 is no 369 blemish 4140b in you.

 4:8 “[Come] with me from Lebanon 3844, [my] bride 3618, May you come 935 with me from Lebanon 3844. Journey 7788 down 7788 from the summit 7218 of Amana 549, From the summit 7218 of Senir 8149 and Hermon 2768, From the dens 4585 of lions 738, From the mountains 2022 of leopards 5246.

 4:9 “You have made my heart 3823a beat 3823a faster 3823a, my sister 269, [my] bride 3618; You have made my heart 3823a beat 3823a faster 3823a with a single 259 [glance] of your eyes 5869, With a single 259 strand 6060 of your necklace 6701b.

 4:12 “A garden 1588 locked 5274a is my sister 269, [my] bride 3618, A rock 1530 garden 1530 locked 5274a, a spring 4599 sealed 2856 up.

 4:13 “Your shoots 7973 are an orchard 6508 of pomegranates 7416 With choice 4022 fruits 4022 6529, henna 3724c with nard 5373 plants 5373,

 4:14 Nard 5373 and saffron 3750, calamus 7070 and cinnamon 7076, With all 3605 the trees 6086 of frankincense 3828, Myrrh 4753 and aloes 174, along 5973 with all 3605 the finest 7218 spices 1314.

 4:15 “[You are] a garden 1588 spring 4599, A well 875 of fresh 2416a water 4325, And streams 5140 [flowing] from Lebanon 3844.”

 4:16 ¶ “Awake 5782, O north 6828 [wind], And come 935, [wind of] the south 8486; Make my garden 1588 breathe 6315 out [fragrance], Let its spices 1314 be wafted 5140 abroad. May my beloved 1730 come 935 into his garden 1588 And eat 398 its choice 4022 fruits 6529!”
