Song of Songs 3

1 The Church's fight and victory in temptation. 6 The Church glorieth in Christ.

 3:1 “On my bed 4904 night 3915 after night I sought 1245 him Whom 7945 my soul 5315 loves 157; I sought 1245 him but did not find 4672 him.

 3:2 ‘I must arise 6965 now 4994 and go 5437 about 5437 the city 5892b; In the streets 7784 and in the squares 7339 I must seek 1245 him whom 7945 my soul 5315 loves 157.’ I sought 1245 him but did not find 4672 him.

 3:3 “The watchmen 8104 who make 5437 the rounds 5437 in the city 5892b found 4672 me, [And I said], ‘Have you seen 7200 him whom 7945 my soul 5315 loves 157?’

 3:4 “Scarcely 4592 had I left 5674a them When 5704 7945 I found 4672 him whom 7945 my soul 5315 loves 157; I held 270 on to him and would not let 7503 him go 7503 Until 5704 I had brought 935 him to my mother’s 517 house 1004, And into the room 2315 of her who conceived 2029 me.”

 3:5 ¶ “I adjure 7650 you, O daughters 1323 of Jerusalem 3389, By the gazelles 6643b or 176 by the hinds 355 of the field 7704, That you will not arouse 5782 or awaken 5782 [my] love 160 Until 5704 she pleases 2654a.”

 3:6 ¶ “What 4310 is this 384 coming 5927 up from the wilderness 4057b Like columns 8490 of smoke 6227, Perfumed 6999 with myrrh 4753 and frankincense 3828, With all 3605 scented 81 powders 81 of the merchant 7402?

 3:7 “Behold 2009, it is the [traveling] couch 4296 of Solomon 8010; Sixty 8346 mighty 1368 men 1368 around 5439 it, Of the mighty 1368 men 1368 of Israel 3478.

 3:8 “All 3605 of them are wielders 270 of the sword 2719, Expert 3925 in war 4421; Each 376 man 376 has his sword 2719 at his side 3409, [Guarding] against 4480 the terrors 6343 of the night 3915.

 3:9 “King 4428 Solomon 8010 has made 6213a for himself a sedan 668 chair 668 From the timber 6086 of Lebanon 3844.

 3:10 “He made 6213a its posts 5982 of silver 3701, Its back 7507 of gold 2091 [And] its seat 4817 of purple 713 fabric 713, [With] its interior 8432 lovingly 160 fitted 7528 out By the daughters 1323 of Jerusalem 3389.

 3:11 “Go 3318 forth 3318, O daughters 1323 of Zion 6726, And gaze 7200 on King 4428 Solomon 8010 with the crown 5850 With which 7945 his mother 517 has crowned 5849b him On the day 3117 of his wedding 2861, And on the day 3117 of his gladness 8057 of heart 3820.”
