Job 7

1 Job excuseth his desire of death. 12 He complaineth of his own restlessness, 17 and God's watchfulness.

 7:1 “Is not man 582 forced 6635 to labor 6635 on earth 776, And [are not] his days 3117 like the days 3117 of a hired 7916 man 7916?

 7:2 “As a slave 5650 who pants 7602a for the shade 6738, And as a hired 7916 man 7916 who eagerly 6960a waits 6960a for his wages 6467,

 7:3 So 3651 am I allotted 5157 months 3391 of vanity 7723, And nights 3915 of trouble 5999 are appointed 4487 me.

 7:4 “When 518 I lie 7901 down 7901 I say 559, ‘When 4970 shall I arise 6965?’ But the night 6153 continues 4058, And I am continually 7646 tossing 5076 until 5704 dawn 5399.

 7:5 “My flesh 1320 is clothed 3847 with worms 7415 and a crust 1487 of dirt 6083, My skin 5785 hardens 7280c and runs 3988b.

 7:6 “My days 3117 are swifter 7043 than 4480 a weaver’s 708 shuttle 708, And come 3615 to an end 3615 without 657 hope 8615b.

 7:7 ¶ “Remember 2142 that my life 2425b is [but] breath 7307; My eye 5869 will not again 7725 see 7200 good 2896b.

 7:8 “The eye 5869 of him who sees 7210 me will behold 7789 me no 3808 longer; Your eyes 5869 [will be] on me, but I will not be.

 7:9 “When a cloud 6051 vanishes 3615, it is gone 1980, So 3651 he who goes 3381 down 3381 to Sheol 7585 does not come 5927 up.

 7:10 “He will not return 7725 again 5750 to his house 1004, Nor 3808 will his place 4725 know 5234 him anymore 5750.

 7:11 ¶ “Therefore 1571 I will not restrain 2820 my mouth 6310; I will speak 1696 in the anguish 6862b of my spirit 7307, I will complain 7878 in the bitterness 4751 of my soul 5315.

 7:12 “Am I the sea 3220, or 518 the sea 8577 monster 8577, That You set 7760 a guard 4929 over 5921 me?

 7:13 “If 3588 I say 559, ‘My bed 6210 will comfort 5162 me, My couch 4904 will ease 5375 my complaint 7879,’

 7:14 Then You frighten 2865 me with dreams 2472 And terrify 1204 me by visions 2384;

 7:15 So that my soul 5315 would choose 977 suffocation 4267, Death 4194 rather 4480 than 4480 my pains 6106.

 7:16 “I waste 3988a away 3988a; I will not live 2421a forever 5769. Leave 2308 me alone 4480, for my days 3117 are [but] a breath 1892.

 7:17 “What 4100 is man 582 that You magnify 1431 him, And that You are concerned 7896 3820 about 413 him,

 7:18 That You examine 6485 him every morning 1242 And try 974 him every moment 7281?

 7:19 “Will You never 3808 turn 8159 Your gaze 8159 away from me, Nor 3808 let 7503 me alone 7503 until 5704 I swallow 1104 my spittle 7536?

 7:20 “Have I sinned 2398? What 4100 have I done 6466 to You, O watcher 5341 of men 120? Why 4100 have You set 7760 me as Your target 4645, So that I am 1961 a burden 4853a to myself?

 7:21 “Why 4100 then do You not pardon 5375 my transgression 6588 And take 5674a away 5674a my iniquity 5771? For now 6258 I will lie 7901 down 7901 in the dust 6083; And You will seek 7836 me, but I will not be.”
