1 Job intreateth God for favour, by the shortness of life, and certainty of death. 7 Though life once lost be irrecoverable, yet he waiteth for his change. 16 By sin the creature is subject to corruption.

 14:1 “Man 120, who is born 3205 of woman 802, Is short-lived 7116 3117 and full 7649 of turmoil 7267.

 14:2 “Like a flower 6731b he comes 3318 forth 3318 and withers 4448c. He also flees 1272 like a shadow 6738 and does not remain 5975.

 14:3 “You also 637 open 6491b Your eyes 5869 on him And bring 935 him into judgment 4941 with Yourself.

 14:4 “Who 4310 can make 5414 the clean 2889 out of the unclean 2931? No 3808 one 259!

 14:5 “Since 518 his days 3117 are determined 2782, The number 4557 of his months 2320 is with You; And his limits 2706 You have set 6213a so that he cannot 3808 pass 5674a.

 14:6 “Turn 8159 Your gaze 8159 from him that he may rest 2308, Until 5704 he fulfills 7521 his day 3117 like a hired 7916 man 7916.

 14:7 ¶ “For there 3426 is hope 8615b for a tree 6086, When 518 it is cut 3772 down 3772, that it will sprout 2498 again 5750, And its shoots 3127 will not fail 2308.

 14:8 “Though 518 its roots 8328 grow 2204 old 2204 in the ground 776 And its stump 1503 dies 4191 in the dry 6083 soil 6083,

 14:9 At the scent 7381b of water 4325 it will flourish 6524a And put 6213a forth 6213a sprigs 7105b like 3644 a plant 5194.

 14:10 “But man 1397 dies 4191 and lies 2522 prostrate 2522. Man 120 expires 1478, and where 335 is he?

 14:11 “[As] water 4325 evaporates 235 from the sea 3220, And a river 5104 becomes 2717a parched 2717a and dried 3001 up,

 14:13 ¶ “Oh 4310 5414 that You would hide 6845 me in Sheol 7585, That You would conceal 5641 me until 5704 Your wrath 639 returns 7725 [to You], That You would set 7896 a limit 2706 for me and remember 2142 me!
