1 The harm of inconsideration. 3 The end of the wicked is misery. 6 God is to be regarded in affliction. 17 The happy end of God's correction.

 5:1 “Call 7121 now 4994, is there 3426 anyone who will answer 6030a you? And to which 4310 of the holy 6918 ones 6918 will you turn 6437?

 5:2 “For anger 7068 slays 2026 the foolish 191 man 191, And jealousy 7068 kills 4191 the simple 6601b.

 5:3 “I have seen 7200 the foolish 191 taking 8327 root 8327, And I cursed 6895 his abode 5116a immediately 6597.

 5:4 “His sons 1121 are far 7368 from safety 3468, They are even oppressed 1792 in the gate 8179, And there 369 is no 369 deliverer 5337.

 5:5 “His harvest 7105a the hungry 7457 devour 398 And take 3947 it to a [place of] thorns 6791, And the schemer 6782 is eager 7602a for their wealth 2428.

 5:6 “For affliction 205 does not come 3318 from the dust 6083, Nor 3808 does trouble 5999 sprout 6779 from the ground 127,

 5:7 For man 120 is born 3205 for trouble 5999, As sparks 1121 7565 fly 5774a upward 1361b.

 5:8 ¶ “But as for me, I would seek 1875 God 410, And I would place 7760 my cause 1700 before 413 God 430;

 5:9 Who does 6213a great 1419 and unsearchable 369 2714 things 2714, Wonders 6381 without 5704 369 number 4557.

 5:10 “He gives 5414 rain 4306 on the earth 776 And sends 7971 water 4325 on the fields 2351,

 5:11 So that He sets 7760 on high 4791 those who are lowly 8217, And those who mourn 6937 are lifted 7682 to safety 3468.

 5:12 “He frustrates 6565a the plotting 4284 of the shrewd 6175, So that their hands 3027 cannot 3808 attain 6213a success 8454.

 5:13 “He captures 3920 the wise 2450 by their own shrewdness 6193, And the advice 6098 of the cunning 6617 is quickly 4116 thwarted 4116.

 5:14 “By day 3119 they meet 6298 with darkness 2822, And grope 4959 at noon 6672a as in the night 3915.

 5:18 “For He inflicts 3510 pain 3510, and gives 2280 relief 2280; He wounds 4272, and His hands 3027 [also] heal 7495.

 5:19 “From six 8337a troubles 6869a He will deliver 5337 you, Even in seven 7651 evil 7451b will not touch 5060 you.

 5:20 “In famine 7458 He will redeem 6299 you from death 4194, And in war 4421 from the power 3027 of the sword 2719.

 5:21 “You will be hidden 2244 from the scourge 7752 of the tongue 3956, And you will not be afraid 3372a of violence 7701 when 3588 it comes 935.

 5:22 “You will laugh 7832 at violence 7701 and famine 3720, And you will not be afraid 3372a of wild 776 beasts 2421b.

 5:23 “For you will be in league 1285 with the stones 68 of the field 7704, And the beasts 2421b of the field 7704 will be at peace 7999b with you.

 5:24 “You will know 3045 that your tent 168 is secure 7965, For you will visit 6485 your abode 5116a and fear 2398 no 3808 loss 2398.

 5:25 “You will know 3045 also that your descendants 2233 will be many 7227a, And your offspring 6631 as the grass 6212a of the earth 776.

 5:26 “You will come 935 to the grave 6913 in full 3624 vigor 3624, Like the stacking 5927 of grain 1430a in its season 6256.

 5:27 “Behold 2009 this 384; we have investigated 2713 it, [and] so 3651 it is. Hear 8085 it, and know 3045 for yourself.”
