Job 15

1 Eliphaz reproveth Job of impiety in justifying himself. 17 He proveth by tradition the unquietness of wicked men.

 15:1 Then Eliphaz 464 the Temanite 8489 responded 6030a 559,

 15:2 “Should a wise 2450 man 2450 answer 6030a with windy 7307 knowledge 1847 And fill 4390 himself 990 with the east 6921 wind 6921?

 15:3 “Should he argue 3198 with useless 3808 5532a talk 1697, Or with words 4405 which are not profitable 3276?

 15:4 “Indeed 637, you do 6565a away 6565a with reverence 3374 And hinder 1639 meditation 7881 before 6440 God 410.

 15:5 “For your guilt 5771 teaches 502 your mouth 6310, And you choose 977 the language 3956 of the crafty 6175.

 15:6 “Your own mouth 6310 condemns 7561 you, and not I; And your own lips 8193 testify 6030a against you.

 15:7 ¶ “Were you the first 7223 man 120 to be born 3205, Or were you brought 2342a forth 2342a before 6440 the hills 1389?

 15:8 “Do you hear 8085 the secret 5475 counsel 5475 of God 433, And limit 1639 wisdom 2451 to yourself?

 15:9 “What 4100 do you know 3045 that we do not know 3045? [What] do you understand 995 that we do not?

 15:10 “Both 1571 the gray-haired 7867 and the aged 3453 are among us, Older 3524 3117 than 4480 your father 1.

 15:11 “Are the consolations 8575 of God 410 too 4480 small 4592 for you, Even the word 1697 [spoken] gently 328 with you?

 15:12 “Why 4100 does your heart 3820 carry 3947 you away? And why 4100 do your eyes 5869 flash 7335,

 15:13 That you should turn 7725 your spirit 7307 against 413 God 410 And allow [such] words 4405 to go 3318 out of your mouth 6310?

 15:14 “What 4100 is man 582, that he should be pure 2135, Or he who is born 3205 of a woman 802, that he should be righteous 6663?

 15:15 “Behold 2005, He puts 539 no 3808 trust 539 in His holy 6918 ones 6918, And the heavens 8064 are not pure 2141 in His sight 5869;

 15:16 How 637 much 637 3588 less 637 one who is detestable 8581 and corrupt 444, Man 376, who drinks 8354 iniquity 5767b like water 4325!

 15:17 ¶ “I will tell 2331a you, listen 8085 to me; And what 2088 I have seen 2372 I will also declare 5608;

 15:18 What 834 wise 2450 men 2450 have told 5046, And have not concealed 3582 from their fathers 1,

 15:19 To whom 1992a alone 905 the land 776 was given 5414, And no 3808 alien 2114a passed 5674a among 8432 them.

 15:20 “The wicked 7563 man 7563 writhes 2342a in pain 2342a all 3605 [his] days 3117, And numbered 4557 are the years 8141 stored 6845 up for the ruthless 6184.

 15:21 “Sounds 6963 of terror 6343 are in his ears 241; While at peace 7965 the destroyer 7703 comes 935 upon him.

 15:22 “He does not believe 539 that he will return 7725 from darkness 2822, And he is destined 6822 for the sword 2719.

 15:23 “He wanders 5074 about for food 3899, saying, ‘Where 346 is it?’ He knows 3045 that a day 3117 of darkness 2822 is at hand 3027.

 15:24 “Distress 6862b and anguish 4691 terrify 1204 him, They overpower 8630 him like a king 4428 ready 6264 for the attack 3593,

 15:25 Because 3588 he has stretched 5186 out his hand 3027 against 413 God 410 And conducts 1396 himself arrogantly 1396 against 413 the Almighty 7706b.

 15:26 “He rushes 7323 headlong 6677 at Him With his massive 5672 1354 shield 4043.

 15:27 “For he has covered 3680 his face 6440 with his fat 2459 And made 6213a his thighs 3689 heavy 6371b with flesh 6371.

 15:28 “He has lived 7931 in desolate 3582 cities 5892b, In houses 1004 no 3808 one would inhabit 3427, Which 834 are destined 6257 to become ruins 1530.

 15:29 “He will not become 6238 rich 6238, nor 3808 will his wealth 2428 endure 6965; And his grain 4512 will not bend 5186 down 5186 to the ground 776.

 15:30 “He will not escape 5493 from darkness 2822; The flame 7957 will wither 3001 his shoots 3127, And by the breath 7307 of His mouth 6310 he will go 5493 away 5493.

 15:31 “Let him not trust 539 in emptiness 7723, deceiving 8582 himself; For emptiness 7723 will be his reward 8545.

 15:32 “It will be accomplished 4390 before 3808 his time 3117, And his palm 3712 branch 3712 will not be green 7487a.

 15:33 “He will drop 2554 off 2554 his unripe 1155 grape 1155 like the vine 1612, And will cast 7993 off 7993 his flower 5328 like the olive 2132 tree 2132.

 15:34 “For the company 5712 of the godless 2611 is barren 1565, And fire 784 consumes 398 the tents 168 of the corrupt 7810.

 15:35 “They conceive 2029 mischief 5999 and bring 3205 forth 3205 iniquity 205, And their mind 990 prepares 3559 deception 4820.”
