Acts 20

1 Paul goeth to Macedonia. 7 He celebrateth the Lord's supper, and preacheth. 9 Eutychus having fallen down dead, 10 is raised to life. 17 At Miletus he calleth the elders together, telleth them what shall befall to himself, 28 committeth God's flock to them, 29 warneth them of false teachers, 32 commendeth them to God, 36 prayeth with them, and goeth his way.

 20:1 After 3326 the uproar 2351 had ceased 3973, Paul 3972 sent 3343 for the disciples 3101, and when he had exhorted 3870 them and taken 782 his leave 782 of them, he left 1831 to go 4198 to Macedonia 3109.

 20:2 When he had gone 1330 through 1330 those 1565 districts 3313 and had given 3870 them much 4183 exhortation 3870 3056, he came 2064 to Greece 1671.

 20:3 And [there] he spent 4160 three 5140 months 3376, and when a plot 1917 was formed 1096 against 1917 him by the Jews 2453 as he was about 3195 to set 321 sail 321 for Syria 4947, he decided 1096 1106 to return 5290 through 1223 Macedonia 3109.

 20:4 And he was accompanied 4902b by Sopater 4986 of Berea 961a, [the son] of Pyrrhus 4450b, and by Aristarchus 708 and Secundus 4580 of the Thessalonians 2331, and Gaius 1050 of Derbe 1190b, and Timothy 5095, and Tychicus 5190 and Trophimus 5161 of Asia 774.

 20:5 But these 3778 had gone 4281 on ahead 4281 and were waiting 3306 for us at Troas 5174.

 20:6 We sailed 1602 from Philippi 5375 after 3326 the days 2250 of Unleavened 106 Bread, and came 2064 to them at Troas 5174 within 891 five 4002 days 2250; and there 3699 we stayed 1304 seven 2033 days 2250.

 20:7 ¶ On the first 1520 day of the week 4521, when we were gathered 4863 together 4863 to break 2806 bread 740, Paul 3972 [began] talking 1256 to them, intending 3195 to leave 1826 the next 1887 day 1887, and he prolonged 3905 his message 3056 until 3360 midnight 3317.

 20:8 There were many 2425 lamps 2985 in the upper 5253 room 5253 where 3757 we were gathered 4863 together 4863.

 20:9 And there was a young 3494 man 3494 named 3686 Eutychus 2161 sitting 2516 on the window 2376 sill 2376, sinking 2702 into a deep 901 sleep 5258; and as Paul 3972 kept on talking 1256, he was overcome 2702 by sleep 5258 and fell 4098 down 2736 from the third 5152 floor 5152 and was picked 142 up dead 3498.

 20:10 But Paul 3972 went 2597 down 2597 and fell 1968 upon him, and after embracing 4843 him, he said 3004, “Do not be troubled 2350b, for his life 5590 is in him.”

 20:11 When he had gone 305 [back] up and had broken 2806 the bread 740 and eaten 1089, he talked 3656 with them a long 2425 while 2425 until 891 daybreak 827, and then 3779 left 1831.

 20:12 They took 71 away 71 the boy 3816 alive 2198, and were greatly 3756 3357 comforted 3870.

 20:13 ¶ But we, going 4281 ahead 4281 to the ship 4143, set 321 sail 321 for Assos 789, intending 3195 from there 1564 to take 353 Paul 3972 on board 353; for so 3779 he had arranged 1299 it, intending 3195 himself 846 to go 3978 by land 3978.

 20:14 And when 5613 he met 4820 us at Assos 789, we took 353 him on board 353 and came 2064 to Mitylene 3412.

 20:15 Sailing 636 from there 2547, we arrived 2658 the following 1897a day opposite 481 Chios 5508; and the next 2087 day we crossed 3846 over 3846 to Samos 4544; and the day following 2192 we came 2064 to Miletus 3399.

 20:16 For Paul 3972 had decided 2919 to sail 3896 past 3896 Ephesus 2181 so 3704 that he would 1096 not have to spend 5551 time 5551 in Asia 773; for he was hurrying 4692 to be in Jerusalem 2414, if 1487 possible 1415, on the day 2250 of Pentecost 4005.

 20:17 ¶ From Miletus 3399 he sent 3992 to Ephesus 2181 and called 3333 to him the elders 4245 of the church 1577.

 20:18 And when 5613 they had come 3854 to him, he said 3004 to them, ¶ “You yourselves 4771 know 1987, from the first 4413 day 2250 that I set 1910 foot 1910 in Asia 773, how 4459 I was with you the whole 3956 time 5550,

 20:19 serving 1398 the Lord 2962 with all 3956 humility 5012a and with tears 1144 and with trials 3986 which came 4819 upon me through 1722 the plots 1917 of the Jews 2453;

 20:20 how 5613 I did not shrink 5288 from declaring 312 to you anything 3762 that was profitable 4851a, and teaching 1321 you publicly 1219 and from house 3624 to house 3624,

 20:21 solemnly 1263 testifying 1263 to both 5037 Jews 2453 and Greeks 1672 of repentance 3341 toward 1519 God 2316 and faith 4102 in our Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547.

 20:22 “And now 3568, behold 2400, bound 1210 by the Spirit 4151, I am 4198 on my way 4198 to Jerusalem 2419, not knowing 3609a what will happen 4876 to me there 1722 846,

 20:23 except 4133 that the Holy 40 Spirit 4151 solemnly 1263 testifies 1263 to me in every 2596 city 4172, saying 3004 that bonds 1199 and afflictions 2347 await 3306 me.

 20:24 “But I do not consider 4160 my life 5590 of any 3762 account 3056 as dear 5093 to myself 1683, so 5613 that I may finish 5048 my course 1408 and the ministry 1248 which 3739 I received 2983 from the Lord 2962 Jesus 2424, to testify 1263 solemnly 1263 of the gospel 2098 of the grace 5485 of God 2316.

 20:25 ¶ “And now 3568, behold 2400, I know 3609a that all 3956 of you, among 1722 whom 3739 I went 1330 about 1330 preaching 2784 the kingdom 932, will no 3765 longer 3765 see 3708 my face 4383.

 20:26 “Therefore 1360, I testify 3143 to you this 4594 day 2250 that I am 1510 innocent 2513 of the blood 129 of all 3956 men 3956.

 20:27 “For I did not shrink 5288 from declaring 312 to you the whole 3956 purpose 1012 of God 2316.

 20:28 “Be on guard 4337 for yourselves 1438 and for all 3956 the flock 4168, among 1722 which 3739 the Holy 40 Spirit 4151 has made 5087 you overseers 1985, to shepherd 4165 the church 1577 of God 2316 which 3739 He purchased 4046 with His own 2398 blood 129.

 20:29 “I know 3609a that after 3326 my departure 867 savage 926 wolves 3074 will come 1525 in among 1519 you, not sparing 5339 the flock 4168;

 20:30 and from among 1537 your own selves 846 men 435 will arise 450, speaking 2980 perverse 1294 things 1294, to draw 645 away 645 the disciples 3101 after 3694 them.

 20:31 “Therefore 1352 be on the alert 1127, remembering 3421 that night 3571 and day 2250 for a period 5148 of three 5148 years 5148 I did not cease 3973 to admonish 3560 each 1538 one 1520 with tears 1144.

 20:32 “And now 3568 I commend 3908 you to God 2316 and to the word 3056 of His grace 5485, which is able 1410 to build 3618 [you] up and to give 1325 [you] the inheritance 2817 among 1722 all 3956 those 3588 who are sanctified 37.

 20:33 “I have coveted 1937 no 3762 one’s 3762 silver 694 or 2228 gold 5553 or 2228 clothes 2441.

 20:34 “You yourselves 846 know 1097 that these 3778 hands 5495 ministered 5256 to my [own] needs 5532 and to the men who were with me.

 20:35 “In everything 3956 I showed 5263 you that by working 2872 hard 2872 in this 3779 manner 3779 you must 1163 help 482 the weak 770 and remember 3421 the words 3056 of the Lord 2962 Jesus 2424, that He Himself 846 said 3004, ‘It is more 3123 blessed 3107 to give 1325 than 2228 to receive 2983.’”

 20:36 ¶ When he had said 3004 these 3778 things 3778, he knelt 1119 5087 down 5087 1119 and prayed 4336 with them all 3956.

 20:37 And they [began] to weep 2805 aloud 2425 and embraced 1968 1909 5137 Paul 3972, and repeatedly kissed 2705 him,

 20:38 grieving 3600 especially 3122 over 1909 the word 3056 which 3739 he had spoken 3004, that they would 3195 not see 2334 his face 4383 again 3765. And they were accompanying 4311 him to the ship 4143.
