him thatº
heº
[was a] goodlyº
[child], she hidºº
him threeº
months.º |
 2:2
And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he [was a] goodly [child], she hid him three months. |
 2:3
And when she couldºº
notº
longerº
hideºº
him, she tookºº
for him an arkº
of bulrushes,º
and daubedºº
it with slimeº
and with pitch,º
and putººº
the childº
therein; and she laidºº
[it] in the flagsº
byº
the river'sº
brink.º |

stoodºº
afar off,ºº
to witºº
whatº
would be doneºº
to him. |
 2:4
And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him. |
 2:5 ¶
And the daughterº
of
Par`ò
פַּרעֹהº
came downºº
to washºº
[herself] atº
the river;º
and her maidensº
walkedºº
alongº
byº
the river'sº
side;º
and when she sawººº
the arkº
amongº
the flags,º
she sentººº
her maidº
to fetchºº
it. |

 2:6
And when she had openedºº
[it], she sawººº
the child:º
and, behold,º
the babeº
wept.ºº
And she had compassionºº
onº
him, and said,ºº
Thisº
[is one] of the
`Ivrîm's
עִברִיםº
children.ººº |
 2:6
And when she had opened [it], she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This [is one] of the Ivrim's children. |
 2:7
Then saidºº
his sisterº
toº
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹהº
daughter,º
Shall I goººº
and callºº
to thee a nurseººº
ofº
the
`Ivrî
עִברִיº
women,ºº
that she may nurseººº
the childº
for thee? |
 2:7

And
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹהº

wentººº
and calledºº
the child'sºº
mother.º |
 2:8
And Paroh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. |
 2:9
And
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹהº
daughterº
saidºº
unto her, Takeºº
this childº
away,ºººººº
and nurseºº
it for me, and Iº
will giveºº
[thee]º
thy wages.º
And the womanº
tookºº
the child,º
and nursedºº
it. |
 2:9
And Paroh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give [thee] thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. |

And the childº
grew,ºº
and she broughtºº
him unto
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹהº
daughter,º
and he becameº
her son.º
And she calledºº
his nameº
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה:º
and she said,ºº
Becauseº
I drewºº
him out ofº
the water.º |
 2:10
And the child grew, and she brought him unto Paroh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Mosheh: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. |
 2:11 ¶
And it came to passº
in thoseº
days,º
when
Möšè
מֹשֶׁהº
was grown,ºº
that he went outºº
untoº
his brethren,º
and lookedºº
on their burdens:º
and he spiedºº
a
Mixrî
מִצרִיºº
smitingºº
an
`Ivrî
עִברִי,ºº
one of his brethren.ºº |

 2:12
And he lookedºº
this wayº
and that way,º
and when he sawºº
thatº
[there was] noº
man,º
he slewººº
the
Mixrî
מִצרִי,º
and hidºº
him in the sand.º |
 2:12
And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that [there was] no man, he slew the Mitzri, and hid him in the sand. |
 2:13
And when he went outºº
the secondº
day,º
behold,º
twoº
menºº
of the
`Ivrîm
עִברִיםº
stroveºº
together:º
and he saidºº
to him that did the wrong,º
Whereforeº
smitestºº
thou thy fellow?º |
 2:13

And he said,ºº
Whoº
madeºº
theeº
a princeº
and a judgeºº
overº
us? intendestºº
thouº
to killºº
me, asº
thou killedstººº
the
Mixrî
מִצרִי?º
And
Möšè
מֹשֶׁהº
feared,ºº
and said,ºº
Surelyº
this thingº
is known.ºº |
 2:14
And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Mitzri? And Mosheh feared, and said, Surely this thing is known. |
 2:15
Now when
Par`ò
פַּרעֹהº
heardºº
thisºº
thing,º
he soughtºº
to slayººº
Möšè
מֹשֶׁה.º
But
Möšè
מֹשֶׁהº
fledºº
from the faceºº
of
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה,º
and dweltºº
in the landº
of
Miðyän
מִדיָן:º
and he sat downºº
byº
a well.º |
 2:15
Now when Paroh heard this thing, he sought to slay Mosheh. But Mosheh fled from the face of Paroh, and dwelt in the land of Midyan: and he sat down by a well. |
 2:16
Now the priestº
of
Miðyän
מִדיָןº
had sevenº

and they cameºº
and drewºº
[water], and filledººº
the troughsº
to waterºº
their father'sº
flock.º |

and helpedºº
them, and wateredººº
their flock.º |
 2:17
And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Mosheh stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. |
 2:18
And when they cameºº
toº
Ræ`û´ël
רְעוּאֵלº
their father,º
he said,ºº
Howº
[is it that] ye are comeºº
so soonºº
to day?º |
 2:18
And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How [is it that] ye are come so soon to day? |
 2:19
And they said,ºº
A
Mixrî
מִצרִיºº
deliveredºº
us out of the handºº
of the shepherds,ºº
and alsoº
drewºº
[water] enoughºº
for us, and wateredººº
the flock.º |
 2:19
And they said, A Mitzri delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew [water] enough for us, and watered the flock. |
 2:20
And he saidºº
untoº
his daughters,º
And whereº
[is] he? whyº
[is] itº
[that] ye have leftººº
the man?º
callºº
him, that he may eatºº
bread.º |
 2:20
And he said unto his daughters, And where [is] he? why [is] it [that] ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. |
 2:21
And
Möšè
מֹשֶׁהº
was contentºº
to dwellºº

Xippörà
צִפֹּרָהº
his daughter.º |

[him] a son,º
and he calledººº
his nameº
Gëršôm
גֵּרשׁוֹם:ºº
forº
he said,ºº
I have beenº
a strangerº
in a strangeº
land.º |

died:ºº
and the childrenº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
sighedºº
by reason ofº
the bondage,º

by reason ofº
the bondage.º |

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
heardººº
their groaning,º

אֱלֹהִיםº
rememberedººº
his covenantº
withº

אַברָהָם,º
withº
Yixçäk
יִצחָק,º

אֱלֹהִיםº
had respectºº
unto [them]. |
