 4:1 ¶ So king° Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° was° king° over° all° Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.°

 4:1 ¶ So king Shelomoh was king over all Yisrael.

 4:2 And these° [were] the princes° which° he had; `Ázaryà עֲזַריָה° the son° of Xäđôk צָדוֹק° the priest,°

 4:2 And these [were] the princes which he had; Azaryah the son of Tzadoq the priest,

 4:3 ´Élîçöref אֱלִיחֹרֶף° and ´Áçiyyà אֲחִיָּה,° the sons° of Šîšä´ שִׁישָׁא,° scribes;°° Yæhôšäfäţ יְהוֹשָׁפָט° the son° of ´Áçîlûđ אֲחִילוּד,° the recorder.°°

 4:3 Elichoref and Achiyyah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Yehoshafat the son of Achilud, the recorder.

 4:4 And Bænäyà בְּנָיָה° the son° of Yæhôyäđä` יְהוֹיָדָע° [was] over° the host:° and Xäđôk צָדוֹק° and ´Evyäŧär אֶביָתָר° [were] the priests:°

 4:4 And Benayah the son of Yehoyada [was] over the host: and Tzadoq and Evyathar [were] the priests:

 4:5 And `Ázaryà עֲזַריָה° the son° of Näŧän נָתָן° [was] over° the officers:°° and Zävûđ זָבוּד° the son° of Näŧän נָתָן° [was] principal officer,° [and] the king's° friend:°

 4:5 And Azaryah the son of Nathan [was] over the officers: and Zavud the son of Nathan [was] principal officer, [and] the king's friend:

 4:6 And ´Áçîšär אֲחִישָׁר° [was] over° the household:° and ´Áđönîräm אֲדֹנִירָם° the son° of `Avdä´ עַבדָּא° [was] over° the tribute.°

 4:6 And Achishar [was] over the household: and Adoniram the son of Avda [was] over the tribute.

 4:7 ¶ And Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° had twelve°° officers°° over° all° Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,° which provided victuals°° for° the king° and his household:° each man° his month° in a year° made provision.°°

 4:7 ¶ And Shelomoh had twelve officers over all Yisrael, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

 4:8 And these° [are] their names:° The son of Çûr חוּר,° in mount° ´Efrayim אֶפרַיִם:°

 4:9 The son of Deker דֶּקֶר,°°° in Mäkax מָקַץ,° and in Ša`alvîm שַׁעַלבִים,° and Bêŧ Šemeš בֵּית־שֶׁמֶשׁ,° and ´Êlôn Bêŧ Çänän אֵילוֹן־בֵּית־חָנָן:°

 4:9 The son of Deqer, in Maqatz, and in Shaalvim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Chanan:

 4:10 The son of Çeseđ חֶסֶד,°°° in ´Árubbôŧ אֲרֻבּוֹת;° to him [pertained] Ŝôȼò שׂוֹכֹה,° and all° the land° of Çëfer חֵפֶר:°

 4:10 The son of Chesed, in Arubboth; to him [pertained] Sokhoh, and all the land of Chefer:

 4:11 The son of ´Ávînäđäv אֲבִינָדָב,° in all° the region° of Dôr דּוֹר;° which had Ţäfaŧ טָפַת° the daughter° of Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° to wife:°

 4:11 The son of Avinadav, in all the region of Dor; which had Tafath the daughter of Shelomoh to wife:

 4:12 Ba`ánä´ בַּעֲנָא° the son° of ´Áçîlûđ אֲחִילוּד;° [to him pertained] Ta`naȼ תַּענַך° and Mæqiddô מְגִדּוֹ,° and all° Bêŧ Šæ´än בֵּית־שְׁאָן,° which° [is] by° Xorŧanà צָרתַנָה° beneath°° Yizræ`e´l יִזרְעֶאל,° from Bêŧ Šæ´än בֵּית־שְׁאָן°° to° ´Ävël Mæçôlà אָבֵל־מְחוֹלָה,° [even] unto° [the place that is] beyond°° Yokmó`äm יָקמֳעָם:°

 4:12 Baana the son of Achilud; [to him pertained] Tanakh and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Tzorthanah beneath Yizreel, from Beth-Shean to Avel-Mecholah, [even] unto [the place that is] beyond Yoqmoam:

 4:13 The son of Gever גֶּבֶר,° in Rämôŧ Gil`äđ רָמוֹת־גִּלעָד;°° to him [pertained] the towns° of Yä´îr יָאִיר° the son° of Mænaššè מְנַשֶּׁה,° which° [are] in Gil`äđ גִּלעָד;° to him [also pertained] the region° of ´Argöv אַרגֹּב,° which° [is] in Bäšän בָּשָׁן,° threescore° great° cities° with walls° and brasen° bars:°

 4:13 The son of Gever, in Ramoth-Gilad; to him [pertained] the towns of Yair the son of Menashsheh, which [are] in Gilad; to him [also pertained] the region of Argov, which [is] in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:

 4:14 ´Áçînäđäv אֲחִינָדָב° the son° of `Iddô´ עִדּוֹא° [had] Maçánayim מַחֲנַיִם:°

 4:14 Achinadav the son of Iddo [had] Machanayim:

 4:15 ´Áçîma`ax אֲחִימַעַץ° [was] in Naftälî נַפתָּלִי;° he° also° took°°° Bäŝmaŧ בָּשׂמַת° the daughter° of Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° to wife:°

 4:15 Achimaatz [was] in Naftali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Shelomoh to wife:

 4:16 Ba`ánà בַּעֲנָה° the son° of Çûšay חוּשַׁי° [was] in ´Äšër אָשֵׁר° and in `Älôŧ עָלוֹת:°

 4:16 Baanah the son of Chushay [was] in Asher and in Aloth:

 4:17 Yæhôšäfäţ יְהוֹשָׁפָט° the son° of Pärûåç פָּרוּחַ,° in Yiŝŝäjȼär יִשָּׂשכָר:°

 4:17 Yehoshafat the son of Paruach, in Yissaskhar:

 4:18 Šim`î שִׁמעִי° the son° of ´Ëlä´ אֵלָא,° in Binyämîn בִּניָמִין:°

 4:18 Shimi the son of Ela, in Binyamin:

 4:19 Gever גֶּבֶר° the son° of ´Ûrî אוּרִי° [was] in the country° of Gil`äđ גִּלעָד,° [in] the country° of Sîçôn סִיחוֹן° king° of the ´Émörîm אֱמֹרִים,° and of `Ôq עוֹג° king° of Bäšän בָּשָׁן;° and [he was] the only° officer° which° [was] in the land.°

 4:19 Gever the son of Uri [was] in the country of Gilad, [in] the country of Sichon king of the Emorim, and of Og king of Bashan; and [he was] the only officer which [was] in the land.

 4:20 ¶ Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה° and Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° [were] many,° as the sand° which° [is] by° the sea° in multitude,° eating°° and drinking,°° and making merry.°

 4:20 ¶ Yehudah and Yisrael [were] many, as the sand which [is] by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

 4:21 And Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° reigned°° over all° kingdoms° from° the river° unto the land° of the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים,° and unto° the border° of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם:° they brought°° presents,° and served°°° Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° all° the days° of his life.°

 4:21 And Shelomoh reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Pelishtim, and unto the border of Mitzrayim: they brought presents, and served Shelomoh all the days of his life.

 4:22 ¶ And Šælömò's שְׁלֹמֹה° provision° for one° day° was° thirty° measures° of fine flour,° and threescore° measures° of meal,°

 4:22 ¶ And Shelomoh's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,

 4:23 Ten° fat° oxen,° and twenty° oxen° out of the pastures,° and an hundred° sheep,° beside° harts,°° and roebucks,° and fallowdeer,° and fatted°° fowl.°

 4:24 For° he° had dominion°° over all° [the region] on this side° the river,° from Tifsaç תִּפסַח°° even to° `Azzà עַזָּה,° over all° the kings° on this side° the river:° and he had° peace° on all°° sides°°° round about°° him.

 4:24 For he had dominion over all [the region] on this side the river, from Tifsach even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

 4:25 And Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה° and Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל° dwelt°° safely,° every man° under° his vine° and under° his fig tree,° from Dän דָּן°° even to° Bæ´ër Ševa` בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע,° all° the days° of Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה.°

 4:25 And Yehudah and Yisrael dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-Sheva, all the days of Shelomoh.

 4:26 ¶ And Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° had° forty° thousand° stalls° of horses° for his chariots,° and twelve°° thousand° horsemen.°

 4:26 ¶ And Shelomoh had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

 4:27 And those° officers°° provided victual°° for° king° Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה,° and for all° that came° unto° king° Šælömò's שְׁלֹמֹה° table,° every man° in his month:° they lacked°° nothing.°°

 4:27 And those officers provided victual for king Shelomoh, and for all that came unto king Shelomoh's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

 4:28 Barley° also and straw° for the horses° and dromedaries° brought°° they unto° the place° where°° [the officers] were,° every man° according to his charge.°

 4:29 ¶ And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים° gave°° Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה° wisdom° and understanding° exceeding° much,°° and largeness° of heart,° even as the sand° that° [is] on° the sea° shore.°

 4:29 ¶ And Elohim gave Shelomoh wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that [is] on the sea shore.

 4:30 And Šælömò's שְׁלֹמֹה° wisdom° excelled°° the wisdom°°° of all° the children° of the east country,° and all°° the wisdom° of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם.°

 4:30 And Shelomoh's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Mitzrayim.

 4:31 For he was wiser°° than all°° men;° than ´Êŧän אֵיתָן°° the ´Ezräçî אֶזרָחִי,° and Hêmän הֵימָן,° and Calcöl כַּלכֹּל,° and Darda` דַּרדַּע,° the sons° of Mäçôl מָחוֹל:° and his fame° was° in all° nations° round about.°

 4:31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrachi, and Heman, and Kalkol, and Darda, the sons of Machol: and his fame was in all nations round about.

 4:32 And he spake°° three° thousand° proverbs:° and his songs° were° a thousand° and five.°

 4:32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

 4:33 And he spake°° of° trees,° from° the cedar tree° that° [is] in Lævänôn לְבָנוֹן° even unto° the hyssop° that° springeth out°° of the wall:° he spake°° also of° beasts,° and of° fowl,° and of° creeping things,° and of° fishes.°

 4:33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that [is] in Levanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

 4:34 And there came°° of all°° people° to hear°°° the wisdom° of Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה,° from°° all° kings° of the earth,° which° had heard°° of°° his wisdom.°

 4:34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Shelomoh, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
