But king Shelomoh loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Paroh, women of the Moavim, Ammonim, Adomim, Tzidonim, [and] Chittim; |

the nations°

unto°
the children°

יִשׂרָאֵל,°
Ye shall not°
go in°°
to them, neither°
shall they°

Of the nations [concerning] which Yahweh said unto the children of Yisrael, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: [for] surely they will turn away your heart after their elohim: Shelomoh clave unto these in love. |

And he had°

wives,°
princesses,°
and three°
hundred°
concubines:°
and his wives°

For it came to pass, when Shelomoh was old, [that] his wives turned away his heart after other elohim: and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, as [was] the heart of Dawid his father. |

For Shelomoh went after Ashtoreth the elohim of the Tzidonim, and after Milkom the abomination of the Ammonim. |

and went not fully°°°
after°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°

And Shelomoh did evil in the sight of Yahweh, and went not fully after Yahweh, as [did] Dawid his father. |

Then did Shelomoh build an high place for Kemosh, the abomination of Moav, in the hill that [is] before Yerushalaim, and for Molekh, the abomination of the children of Ammon. |

And likewise°
did°°
he for all°
his strange°
wives,°
which burnt incense°°
and sacrificed°°
unto their
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.° |

And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their elohim. |
|
11:9 ¶
And

יָהוֶה°
was angry°°
with
Šælömò
שְׁלֹמֹה,°
because°
his heart°
was turned°°
from°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
which had appeared°°
unto°
him twice,° |

11:9 ¶
And Yahweh was angry with Shelomoh, because his heart was turned from Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, which had appeared unto him twice, |

And had commanded°°°
him concerning°
this°
thing,°
that he should not°
go°°°
after°
other°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:°
but he kept°°
not°°
that which°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
commanded.°° |

And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other elohim: but he kept not that which Yahweh commanded. |

11:11
Wherefore
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
said°°
unto

שְׁלֹמֹה,°
Forasmuch°
as°
this°
is°
done of°
thee, and thou hast not°
kept°°
my covenant°
and my statutes,°
which°
I have commanded°°°
thee, I will surely°°
rend°°°
the kingdom°
from°°
thee, and will give°°
it to thy servant.° |

Wherefore Yahweh said unto Shelomoh, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant. |

Notwithstanding°
in thy days°
I will not°
do°°
it for

thy father's°

[but] I will rend°°
it out of the hand°°
of thy son.° |

Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for Dawid thy father's sake: [but] I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. |

the kingdom;°
[but] will give°°

tribe°
to thy son°

Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; [but] will give one tribe to thy son for Dawid my servant's sake, and for Yerushalaim's sake which I have chosen. |

11:14 ¶
And

11:14 ¶
And Yahweh stirred up an adversary unto Shelomoh, Hadad the Adomi: he [was] of the king's seed in Edom. |
|
11:15
For it came to pass,°
when

אֱדוֹם,°
and

יוֹאָב°
the captain°
of the host°
was gone up°°
to bury°°°
the slain,°
after he had smitten°°
every°
male°

For it came to pass, when Dawid was in Edom, and Yoav the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom; |

That Hadad fled, he and certain Adomim of his father's servants with him, to go into Mitzrayim; Hadad [being] yet a little child. |

And they arose out of Midyan, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Mitzrayim, unto Paroh king of Mitzrayim; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land. |

And the sister of Tachpenes bare him Genuvath his son, whom Tachpenes weaned in Paroh's house: and Genuvath was in Paroh's household among the sons of Paroh. |

And when Hadad heard in Mitzrayim that Dawid slept with his fathers, and that Yoav the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Paroh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country. |

me, that, behold,°
thou seekest°°

thine own country?°
And he answered,°°
Nothing:°
howbeit°
let me go°°

Then Paroh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise. |

And Elohim stirred him up [another] adversary, Rezon the son of Elyada, which fled from his adon Hadadezer king of Tzovah: |

And he gathered°°

unto°
him, and became°
captain°
over a band,°
when

slew°°
them [of
Xôvà
צוֹבָה]: and they went°°°
to
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק,°
and dwelt°°
therein, and reigned°°

Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק.° |

And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when Dawid slew them [of Tzovah]: and they went to Dammaseq, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Dammaseq. |

And he was°
an adversary°

the days°

beside°
the mischief°
that°

[did]: and he abhorred°°

And he was an adversary to Yisrael all the days of Shelomoh, beside the mischief that Hadad [did]: and he abhorred Yisrael, and reigned over Aram. |

And Yorovam the son of Nevat, an Efrathi of Tzeredah, Shelomoh's servant, whose mother's name [was] Tzeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up [his] hand against the king. |
|

And this°
[was] the cause°
that°
he lifted up°°
[his] hand°
against the king:°

[and] repaired°°°
the breaches°
of the city°

And this [was] the cause that he lifted up [his] hand against the king: Shelomoh built Millo, [and] repaired the breaches of the city of Dawid his father. |

of valour:°

And the man Yorovam [was] a mighty man of valour: and Shelomoh seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Yosef. |

that the prophet°

garment;°

[were] alone°

And it came to pass at that time when Yorovam went out of Yerushalaim, that the prophet Achiyyah the Shiloni found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two [were] alone in the field: |

him, and rent°°
it [in] twelve°°

And Achiyyah caught the new garment that [was] on him, and rent it [in] twelve pieces: |

And he said to Yorovam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith Yahweh, the Elohim of Yisrael, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Shelomoh, and will give ten tribes to thee: |

Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for Dawid my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes: |

out of his son's°

and will give°°
it unto thee, [even]°
ten°
tribes.° |

But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, [even] ten tribes. |

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that Dawid my servant may have a light alway before me in Yerushalaim, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there. |

thee, and thou shalt reign°°
according to all°

thy soul°
desireth,°°
and shalt be°
king°
over°

And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Yisrael. |

And it shall be,°

thou wilt hearken°°

thee, and wilt walk°°
in my ways,°

[that is] right°
in my sight,°

my statutes°
and my commandments,°

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do [that is] right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as Dawid my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for Dawid, and will give Yisrael unto thee. |

And I will for this afflict the seed of Dawid, but not for ever. |

Shelomoh sought therefore to kill Yorovam. And Yorovam arose, and fled into Mitzrayim, unto Shishaq king of Mitzrayim, and was in Mitzrayim until the death of Shelomoh. |

and his wisdom,°

And the rest of the acts of Shelomoh, and all that he did, and his wisdom, [are] they not written in the book of the acts of Shelomoh? |

And the time°
that°

שְׁלֹמֹה°
reigned°°
in
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
over°
all°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
[was] forty°
years.° |

And the time that Shelomoh reigned in Yerushalaim over all Yisrael [was] forty years. |
|

And

slept°°
with°
his fathers,°
and was buried°°
in the city°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
his father:°
and
Ræçav`äm
רְחַבעָם°
his son°
reigned°°
in his stead.° |

And Shelomoh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of Dawid his father: and Rechavam his son reigned in his stead. |
