And it came to pass in the third year, that Yehoshafat the king of Yehudah came down to the king of Yisrael. |

And the king of Yisrael said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilad [is] ours, and we [be] still, [and] take it not out of the hand of the king of Aram? |

Wilt thou go°°°

me to battle°

And he said unto Yehoshafat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-Gilad? And Yehoshafat said to the king of Yisrael, I [am] as thou [art], my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. |

men,°

them, Shall I go°°°
against°

to battle,°

shall I forbear?°°
And they said,°°
Go up;°°
for
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
shall deliver°°
[it] into the hand°
of the king.° |

Then the king of Yisrael gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-Gilad to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for Yahweh shall deliver [it] into the hand of the king. |

And the king of Yisrael said unto Yehoshafat, [There is] yet one man, Mikhayhu the son of Yimlah, by whom we may enquire of Yahweh: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Yehoshafat said, Let not the king say so. |

And the king of Yisrael and Yehoshafat the king of Yehudah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Shomron; and all the prophets prophesied before them. |

And Tzidqiyyah the son of Kenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith Yahweh, With these shalt thou push the Arammim, until thou have consumed them. |

prophesied°°

רָמוֹת־גִּלעָד,°°
and prosper:°°
for
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
shall deliver°°

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but [that which is] true in the name of Yahweh? |

the hills,°
as sheep°
that°
have not°
a shepherd:°°

These°

every man°
to his house°

And he said, I saw all Yisrael scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and Yahweh said, These have no adon: let them return every man to his house in peace. |

יְהוֹשָׁפָט,°
Did I not°

thee that he would prophesy°°

And the king of Yisrael said unto Yehoshafat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil? |

thou therefore°
the word°

sitting°°

his throne,°

the host°
of heaven°

him on his right hand°°

And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. |

will persuade°°
him. |

And Yahweh said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade [him], and prevail also: go forth, and do so. |

And the king of Yisrael said, Take Mikhayhu, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Yoash the king's son; |

[fellow] in the prison,°°

him with bread°
of affliction°
and with water°

And the king of Yisrael said unto Yehoshafat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Yisrael disguised himself, and went into the battle. |

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Yehoshafat, that they said, Surely it [is] the king of Yisrael. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Yehoshafat cried out. |

that they turned back°°
from pursuing°°

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it [was] not the king of Yisrael, that they turned back from pursuing him. |

And a [certain] man°

a bow°
at a venture,°

the joints°
of the harness:°
wherefore he said°°
unto the driver of his chariot,°

And a [certain] man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Yisrael between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded. |

And the battle°

stayed up°°
in his chariot°
against°
the
´Árammîm
אֲרַמִּים,°
and died°°
at even:°
and the blood°
ran out°°
of the wound°

the midst°
