36:1 ¶
And the people of the land took Jehoahaz{gr.Joachaz} the son of Josiah{gr.Josias}, and anointed him, and made him king over Jerusalem in the room of his father. |
|
36:1 ¶
Then the people°
of the land°
took°°°
Jehoahaz°
the son°
of Josiah,°
and made him king°°
in his father's°
stead°°
in Jerusalem.° |
36:2
Jehoahaz{gr.Joachaz} [was] twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Amital, daughter of Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} of Libnah{gr.Lobna}. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done. And Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} Nechoh{gr.Nechao} bound him in Deblatha in the land of Hamath{gr.Aemath}, that he might not reign in Jerusalem. |
|
36:2
Jehoahaz°°
[was] twenty°
and three°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°
three°
months°
in Jerusalem.° |
36:3
And the king brought him over to Mizraim{gr.Egypt}; and imposed a tribute on the land, a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. |
|
36:3
And the king°
of Egypt°
put him down°°
at Jerusalem,°
and condemned°°°
the land°
in an hundred°
talents°
of silver°
and a talent°
of gold.° |
36:4
And Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} Nechoh{gr.Nechao} made Eliakim the son of Josiah{gr.Josias} king over Judah{gr.Juda} in the room of his father Josiah{gr.Josias}, and changed his name [to] Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim}. And Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} Nechoh{gr.Nechao} took his brother Jehoahaz{gr.Joachaz} and brought him into Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, and he died there: but [he] had given the silver and gold to Pharaoh{gr.Pharao}. At that time the land began to be taxed to give the money at the command of Pharaoh{gr.Pharao}; and every one as he could borrowed the silver and the gold of the people of the land, to give to Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} Nechoh{gr.Nechao}. |
|
36:4
And the king°
of Egypt°
made°
Eliakim°
his brother°
king°°
over°
Judah°
and Jerusalem,°
and turned°°°
his name°
to Jehoiakim.°
And Necho°
took°°
Jehoahaz°°
his brother,°
and carried°°
him to Egypt.° |
36:5 ¶
Jehoiachin{gr.Joachim} was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Zechora, daughter of Neriah{gr.Nerias} of Ramah{gr.Rama}. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers did. In his days came Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} king of Babylon into the land, and he served him three years, and [then] revolted from him. And the Lord sent against them the Chaldeans, and plundering parties of Syrians, and plundering parties of the Moabites, and of the children of Ammon, and of Samaria; but after this they departed, according to the word of the Lord by the hand of his servants the prophets. Nevertheless the wrath of the Lord was upon Judah{gr.Juda}, so that they should be removed from his presence, because of the sins of Manasseh{gr.Manasses} in all that he did, and for the innocent blood which Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim} shed, for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; yet the Lord would not utterly destroy them. |
|
36:5 ¶
Jehoiakim°
[was] twenty°
and five°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°
eleven°°
years°
in Jerusalem:°
and he did°°
[that which was] evil°
in the sight°
of Yahweh°
his Elohim.° |
36:6
And Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} king of Babylon came up against him, and bound him with brazen fetters, and carried him away to Babylon. |
|
36:6
Against°
him came up°°
Nebuchadnezzar°
king°
of Babylon,°
and bound°°
him in fetters,°
to carry°°°
him to Babylon.° |
36:7
And he carried away a part of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple in Babylon. |
|
36:7
Nebuchadnezzar°
also carried°°
of the vessels°°
of the house°
of Yahweh°
to Babylon,°
and put°°
them in his temple°
at Babylon.° |
36:8
And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim}, and all that he did, behold, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah{gr.Juda}? And Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim} slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in Ganozae: and Jeconiah{gr.Jechonias} his son reigned in his stead. |
|
36:8
Now the rest°
of the acts°
of Jehoiakim,°
and his abominations°
which°
he did,°°
and that which was found°°
in°
him, behold,°
they [are] written°°
in°
the book°
of the kings°
of Israel°
and Judah:°
and Jehoiachin°
his son°
reigned°°
in his stead.° |
36:9 ¶
Jeconiah{gr.Jechonias} [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord. |
|
36:9 ¶
Jehoiachin°
[was] eight°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°
three°
months°
and ten°
days°
in Jerusalem:°
and he did°°
[that which was] evil°
in the sight°
of Yahweh.° |
36:10
And at the turn of the year, king Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah{gr.Sedekias} his father's brother king over Judah{gr.Juda} and Jerusalem. |
|
36:10
And when the year°
was expired,°
king°
Nebuchadnezzar°
sent,°°
and brought°°
him to Babylon,°
with°
the goodly°
vessels°
of the house°
of Yahweh,°
and made°°
Zedekiah°
his brother°
king°°
over°
Judah°
and Jerusalem.° |
36:11 ¶
Zedekiah{gr.Sedekias} [was] twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and be reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. |
|
36:11 ¶
Zedekiah°
[was] one°
and twenty°
years°
old°
when he began to reign,°°
and reigned°°
eleven°°
years°
in Jerusalem.° |
36:12
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God: he was not ashamed before the prophet Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias}, nor because of the word of the Lord; |
|
36:12
And he did°°
[that which was] evil°
in the sight°
of Yahweh°
his Elohim,°
[and] humbled°°
not himself°°
before°°
Jeremiah°
the prophet°
[speaking] from the mouth°°
of Yahweh.° |
36:13
in that he rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor}, which he adjured him by God [not to do]: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart, so as not to return to the Lord God of Israel. |
|
36:13
And he also°
rebelled°°
against king°
Nebuchadnezzar,°
who°
had made him swear°°
by Elohim:°
but he stiffened°°°
his neck,°
and hardened°°°
his heart°
from turning°°°
unto°
Yahweh°
Elohim°
of Israel.° |
36:14 ¶
And all the great men of Judah{gr.Juda}, and the priests, and the people of the land transgressed abundantly in the abominations of the heathen, and polluted the house of the Lord which [was] in Jerusalem. |
|
36:14 ¶
Moreover°
all°
the chief°
of the priests,°
and the people,°
transgressed°°
very°
much°°°°
after all°
the abominations°
of the heathen;°
and polluted°°°
the house°
of Yahweh°
which°
he had hallowed°°
in Jerusalem.° |
36:15
And the Lord God of their fathers sent by the hand of his prophets; rising early and sending his messengers, for he spared his people, and his sanctuary. |
|
36:15
And Yahweh°
Elohim°
of their fathers°
sent°°
to°
them by°
his messengers,°
rising up betimes,°°
and sending;°°
because°
he had compassion°°
on°
his people,°
and on°
his dwelling place:° |
36:16
Nevertheless they sneered at his messengers, and set at nought his words, and mocked his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose up against his people, till there was no remedy. |
|
36:16
But they mocked°°°
the messengers°
of Elohim,°
and despised°°
his words,°
and misused°°
his prophets,°
until°
the wrath°
of Yahweh°
arose°°
against his people,°
till°
[there was] no°
remedy.° |
36:17
And he brought against them the king of the Chaldeans, and slew their young men with the sword in the house of his sanctuary, and did not spare Zedekiah{gr.Sedekias}, and had no mercy upon their virgins, and they led away their old men: he delivered all things into their hands. |
|
36:17
Therefore he brought°°
upon°
them°
the king°
of the Chaldees,°
who slew°°
their young men°
with the sword°
in the house°
of their sanctuary,°
and had no compassion°°°
upon°
young man°
or maiden,°
old man,°
or him that stooped for age:°
he gave°°
[them] all°
into his hand.° |
36:18
And all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and all the treasures of the king and the great men; he brought all to Babylon. |
|
36:18
And all°
the vessels°
of the house°
of Elohim,°
great°
and small,°
and the treasures°
of the house°
of Yahweh,°
and the treasures°
of the king,°
and of his princes;°
all°
[these] he brought°°
to Babylon.° |
36:19
And he burnt the house of the Lord, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt its palaces with fire, and [utterly destroyed] every beautiful vessel. |
|
36:19
And they burnt°°°
the house°
of Elohim,°
and brake down°°°
the wall°
of Jerusalem,°
and burnt°°
all°
the palaces°
thereof with fire,°
and destroyed°°
all°
the goodly°
vessels°
thereof. |
36:20
And he carried away the remnant to Babylon; and they were servants to him and to his sons until [the establishment of] the kingdom of the Medes. |
|
36:20
And them that had escaped°
from°
the sword°
carried he away°°
to°
Babylon;°
where they were°
servants°
to him and his sons°
until°
the reign°°
of the kingdom°
of Persia:° |
36:21
That the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} might be fulfilled, until the land should enjoy its sabbaths in resting [and] sabbath keeping all the days of its desolation, till the accomplishment of seventy years. |
|
36:21
To fulfil°°
the word°
of Yahweh°
by the mouth°
of Jeremiah,°
until°
the land°
had enjoyed°°°
her sabbaths:°
[for] as long as°°
she lay desolate°°
she kept sabbath,°°
to fulfil°°
threescore and ten°
years.° |
36:22 ¶
In the first year of Cyrus king of the Persians, after the fulfillment of the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias}, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians, and told him to make proclamation in writing throughout all his kingdom, saying, |
|
36:22 ¶
Now in the first°
year°
of Cyrus°
king°
of Persia,°
that the word°
of Yahweh°
[spoken] by the mouth°
of Jeremiah°
might be accomplished,°°
Yahweh°
stirred up°°°
the spirit°
of Cyrus°
king°
of Persia,°
that he made a proclamation°°°
throughout all°
his kingdom,°
and [put it] also°
in writing,°
saying,°° |
36:23
Thus says Cyrus king of the Persians to all the kingdoms of the earth, The Lord God of heaven has given me [power], and he has commanded me to build a house to him in Jerusalem, in Judah{gr.Judea}. Who [is there] of you of all his people? his God shall be with him, and let him go up. |
|
36:23
Thus°
saith°°
Cyrus°
king°
of Persia,°
All°
the kingdoms°
of the earth°
hath Yahweh°
Elohim°
of heaven°
given°°
me; and he°
hath charged°°°
me to build°°
him an house°
in Jerusalem,°
which°
[is] in Judah.°
Who°
[is there] among you of all°°
his people?°
Yahweh°
his Elohim°
[be] with°
him, and let him go up.°° |
