 31:1 ¶ And when all these things were finished, all Israel that were found in the cities of Judah{gr.Juda} went out, and broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the groves, and tore down the high places and the altars out of all Judah{gr.Judea} and Benjamin, also of Ephraim and Manasseh{gr.Manasse}, till they made an end: and all Israel returned, every one to his inheritance, and to their cities.

 31:1 ¶ Now when allº thisº was finished,ºº allº Israelº that were presentºº went outºº to the citiesº of Judah,º and brakeºº the imagesº in pieces,ººº and cut downºº the groves,º and threw downººº the high placesº and the altarsº out of allºº Judahº and Benjamin,º in Ephraimº also and Manasseh,º untilº they had utterly destroyedºº them all. Then allº the childrenº of Israelº returned,ºº every manº to his possession,º into their own cities.º

 31:2 ¶ And Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites, and the courses of each one according to his ministry, to the priests and to the Levites, for the whole-burnt-offering, and for the peace-offering, and to praise, and to give thanks, and to minister in the gates, [and] in the courts of the house of the Lord.

 31:2 ¶ And Hezekiahº appointedººº the coursesº of the priestsº and the Levitesº afterº their courses,º every manº accordingº toº his service,º the priestsº and Levitesº for burnt offeringsº and for peace offerings,º to minister,ºº and to give thanks,ºº and to praiseºº in the gatesº of the tentsº of Yahweh.º

 31:3 And the king's proportion out of his substance [was appointed] for the whole-burnt-offerings, the morning and the evening one, and the whole-burnt-offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the feasts that were ordered in the law of the Lord.

 31:3 [He appointed] also the king'sº portionº ofº his substanceº for the burnt offerings,º [to wit], for the morningº and eveningº burnt offerings,º and the burnt offeringsº for the sabbaths,º and for the new moons,º and for the set feasts,º as [it is] writtenºº in the lawº of Yahweh.º

 31:4 And they told the people who dwelt in Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be strong in the ministry of the house of the Lord.

 31:4 Moreover he commandedºº the peopleº that dweltºº in Jerusalemº to giveºº the portionº of the priestsº and the Levites,º thatº they might be encouragedºº in the lawº of Yahweh.º

 31:5 ¶ And as he gave the command, Israel brought abundantly first-fruits of corn, and wine, and oil, and honey, and every fruit of the field: and the children of Israel and Judah{gr.Juda} brought tithes of everything abundantly.

 31:5 ¶ And as soon as the commandmentº came abroad,ºº the childrenº of Israelº broughtºº in abundanceºº the firstfruitsº of corn,º wine,º and oil,º and honey,º and of allº the increaseº of the field;º and the titheº of allº [things] broughtºº they inº abundantly.º

 31:6 And they that dwelt in the cities of Judah{gr.Juda} themselves also brought tithes of calves and sheep, and tithes of goats, and consecrated them to the Lord their God, and they brought them and laid them in heaps.

 31:6 And [concerning] the childrenº of Israelº and Judah,º that dweltºº in the citiesº of Judah,º theyº alsoº brought inºº the titheº of oxenº and sheep,º and the titheº of holy thingsº which were consecratedºº unto Yahwehº their Elohim,º and laidºº [them] by heaps.º

 31:7 In the third month the heaps began to be piled, and in the seventh month they were finished.

 31:7 In the thirdº monthº they beganºº to lay the foundationºº of the heaps,º and finishedºº [them] in the seventhº month.º

 31:8 And Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} and the princes came and saw the heaps, and blessed the Lord, and his people Israel.

 31:8 And when Hezekiahº and the princesº cameºº and sawººº the heaps,º they blessedººº Yahweh,º and his peopleº Israel.º

 31:9 Then Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} enquired of the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

 31:9 Then Hezekiahº questionedºº withº the priestsº and the Levitesº concerningº the heaps.º

 31:10 And Azariah{gr.Azarias} the priest, the chief over the house of Zadok{gr.Sadoc}, spoke to him, and said, From the time that the first-fruits began to be brought into the house of the Lord, we have eaten and drunk, and left even abundantly; for the Lord has blessed his people, and we have left to this amount.

 31:10 And Azariahº the chiefº priestº of the houseº of Zadokº answeredººº him, and said,ºº Since [the people] beganººº to bringºº the offeringsº into the houseº of Yahweh,º we have had enoughºº to eat,ºº and have leftººº plenty:º forº Yahwehº hath blessedººº his people;º and that which is leftºº [is]º thisº great store.º

 31:11 ¶ And Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} told them yet farther to prepare chambers for the house of the Lord; and they prepared [them],

 31:11 ¶ Then Hezekiahº commandedºº to prepareºº chambersº in the houseº of Yahweh;º and they preparedºº [them],

 31:12 and they brought thither the first-fruits and the tithes faithfully: and Chonenias the Levite was superintendent over them, and Shimei{gr.Semei} his brother was next.

 31:12 And brought inººº the offeringsº and the tithesº and the dedicatedº [things] faithfully:º overº which Cononiahº the Leviteºº [was] ruler,º and Shimeiº his brotherº [was] the next.º

 31:13 And Jehiel{gr.Jeiel}, and Uzziah{gr.Ozias}, and Naeth, and Asahel{gr.Asael}, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Samachia, and Maath, and Benaiah{gr.Banaias}, and his sons, were appointed by Chonenias and Shimei{gr.Semei} his brother, as Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} the king, and Azariah{gr.Azarias} who was over the house of the Lord commanded.

 31:13 And Jehiel,º and Azaziah,º and Nahath,º and Asahel,º and Jerimoth,º and Jozabad,º and Eliel,º and Ismachiah,º and Mahath,º and Benaiah,º [were] overseersº under the handºº of Cononiahº and Shimeiº his brother,º at the commandmentº of Hezekiahº the king,º and Azariahº the rulerº of the houseº of Elohim.º

 31:14 And Korah{gr.Core}, the [son] of Jemna the Levite, the porter eastward, [was] over the gifts, to distribute the first-fruits of the Lord, and the most holy things,

 31:14 And Koreº the sonº of Imnahº the Levite,ºº the porterº toward the east,º [was] overº the freewill offeringsº of Elohim,º to distributeºº the oblationsº of Yahweh,º and the mostº holy things.º

 31:15 by the hand of Odom, and Benjamin, and Jeshua{gr.Jesus}, and Shimei{gr.Semei}, and Amariah{gr.Amarias}, and Sechonias, by the hand of the priests faithfully, to give to their brethren according to the courses, as well to great as small;

 31:15 And nextºº him [were] Eden,º and Miniamin,º and Jeshua,º and Shemaiah,º Amariah,º and Shecaniah,º in the citiesº of the priests,º in [their] set office,º to giveºº to their brethrenº byº courses,º as well to the greatº as to the small:º

 31:16 besides the increase of males from three years old and upward, to every one entering into the house of the Lord, [a portion] according to a daily rate, for service in the daily courses of their order.

 31:16 Besideºº their genealogyºº of males,º from threeº yearsº oldºº and upward,º [even] unto every oneº that enterethºº into the houseº of Yahweh,º his dailyº portionº for their serviceº in their chargesº according to their courses;º

 31:17 This [is] the distribution of the priests according to the houses of their families; and the Levites in their daily courses from twenty years old and upward [were] in [their] order,

 31:17 Both toº the genealogyºº of the priestsº by the houseº of their fathers,º and the Levitesº from twentyº yearsº oldºº and upward,º in their chargesº by their courses;º

 31:18 to assign stations for all the increase of their sons and their daughters, for the whole number: for they faithfully sanctified the holy place.

 31:18 And to the genealogyºº of allº their little ones,º their wives,º and their sons,º and their daughters,º through allº the congregation:º forº in their set officeº they sanctifiedºº themselvesº in holiness:º

 31:19 As for the sons of Aaron that executed the priests' office,-- even those from their cities the men in each several city who were named expressly,-- [were appointed] to give a portion to every male among the priests, and to every one reckoned among the Levites.

 31:19 Also of the sonsº of Aaronº the priests,º [which were] in the fieldsº of the suburbsº of their cities,º in everyº several city,º the menºº thatº were expressedºº by name,º to giveºº portionsº to allº the malesº among the priests,º and to allº that were reckoned by genealogiesºº among the Levites.º

 31:20 ¶ And Hezekiah{gr.Ezekias} did so through all Judah{gr.Juda}, and did that which was good and right before the Lord his God.

 31:20 ¶ And thusº didºº Hezekiahº throughout allº Judah,º and wroughtºº [that which was] goodº and rightº and truthº beforeº Yahwehº his Elohim.º

 31:21 And in every work which he began in service in the house of the Lord, and in the law, and in the ordinances, he sought his God with all his soul, and wrought, and prospered.

 31:21 And in everyº workº thatº he beganºº in the serviceº of the houseº of Elohim,º and in the law,º and in the commandments,º to seekºº his Elohim,º he didºº [it] with allº his heart,º and prospered.ºº
