Mark 9
2 Jesus is transfigured. 11 He instructeth his disciples concerning the coming of Elias: 14 casteth forth a dumb and deaf spirit: 30 foretelleth his death and resurrection: 33 exhorteth his disciples to humility: 38 bidding them not to prohibit such as be not against them, nor to give offence to any of the faithful.
9:1
And Jesus was saying 3004 to them, “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, there are some 5100 of those 3588 who are standing 2476 here 5602 who 3748 will not taste 1089 death 2288 until 2193 they see 3708 the kingdom 932 of God 2316 after it has come 2064 with power 1411.”
9:2
¶ Six 1803 days 2250 later 3326, Jesus 2424 *took 3880 with Him Peter 4074 and James 2385 and John 2491, and *brought 399 them up on a high 5308 mountain 3735 by themselves 2398 3441. And He was transfigured 3339 before 1715 them;

and His garments 2440 became 1096 radiant 4744 and exceedingly 3029 white 3022, as no 3756 launderer 1102 on earth 1093 can 1410 whiten 3021 them.

Elijah 2243 appeared 3708 to them along 4862 with Moses 3475; and they were talking 4814 with Jesus 2424.
9:5
Peter 4074 *said 3004 to Jesus 2424, “Rabbi 4461, it is good 2570 for us to be here 5602; let us make 4160 three 5140 tabernacles 4633, one 1520 for You, and one 1520 for Moses 3475, and one 1520 for Elijah 2243.”
9:6
For he did not know 3609a what 5101 to answer 611; for they became 1096 terrified 1630.
9:7
Then 2532 a cloud 3507 formed 1096, overshadowing 1982 them, and a voice 5456 came 1096 out of the cloud 3507, “This 3778 is My beloved 27 Son 5207, listen 191 to Him!”
9:8
All 1819 at once 1819 they looked 4017 around 4017 and saw 3708 no 3762 one 3762 with them anymore 3765, except 1508 Jesus 2424 alone 3441.
9:9
¶ As they were coming 2597 down 2597 from the mountain 3735, He gave 1291 them orders 1291 not to relate 1334 to anyone 3367 what 3739 they had seen 3708, until 1487 3361 3752 the Son 5207 of Man 444 rose 450 from the dead 3498.

They seized 2902 upon that statement 3056, discussing 4802 with one 1438 another 1438 what 5101 rising 450 from the dead 3498 meant 1510.
9:11
They asked 1905 Him, saying 3004, “[Why is it] that the scribes 1122 say 3004 that Elijah 2243 must 1163 come 2064 first 4413?”
9:12
And He said 5346 to them, “Elijah 2243 does first 4413 come 2064 and restore 600 all 3956 things 3956. And [yet] how 4459 is it written 1125 of the Son 5207 of Man 444 that He will suffer 3958 many 4183 things 4183 and be treated 1847 with contempt 1847?
9:13
“But I say 3004 to you that Elijah 2243 has indeed 2532 come 2064, and they did 4160 to him whatever 3745 they wished 2309, just 2531a as it is written 1125 of him.”
9:14
¶ When they came 2064 [back] to the disciples 3101, they saw 3708 a large 4183 crowd 3793 around 4012 them, and [some] scribes 1122 arguing 4802 with them.
9:15
Immediately 2117, when the entire 3956 crowd 3793 saw 3708 Him, they were amazed 1568 and [began] running 4370 up to greet 782 Him.
9:16
And He asked 1905 them, “What 5101 are you discussing 4802 with them?”
9:17
And one 1520 of the crowd 3793 answered 611 Him, “Teacher 1320, I brought 5342 You my son 5207, possessed 2192 with a spirit 4151 which makes him mute 216;
9:18
and whenever 3699 it seizes 2638 him, it slams 4486 him [to the ground] and he foams 875 [at the mouth], and grinds 5149 his teeth 3599 and stiffens 3583 out. I told 3004 Your disciples 3101 to cast 1544b it out, and they could 2480 not [do it].”
9:19
And He *answered 611 them and *said 3004, “O 5599 unbelieving 571 generation 1074, how 2193 long 2193 4219 shall I be with you? How 2193 long 2193 4219 shall I put 430 up with you? Bring 5342 him to Me!”
9:20
They brought 5342 the boy to Him. When 2532 he saw 3708 Him, immediately 2117 the spirit 4151 threw 4952 him into a convulsion 4952, and falling 4098 to the ground 1093, he [began] rolling 2947 around 2947 and foaming 875 [at the mouth].
9:21
And He asked 1905 his father 3962, “How 4214 long 5550 has this 3778 been 1510 happening 1096 to him?” And he said 3004, “From childhood 3812.
9:22
“It has often 4178 thrown 906 him both 2532 into the fire 4442 and into the water 5204 to destroy 622 him. But if 1487 You can 1410 do anything 5100, take 4697 pity 4697 on us and help 997 us!”
9:23
And Jesus 2424 said 3004 to him, “ ‘If 1487 You can 1410?’ All 3956 things 3956 are possible 1415 to him who believes 4100.”
9:24
Immediately 2117 the boy’s 3813 father 3962 cried 2896 out and said 3004, “I do believe 4100; help 997 my unbelief 570.”
9:25
When Jesus 2424 saw 3708 that a crowd 3793 was rapidly 1998 gathering 1998, He rebuked 2008 the unclean 169 spirit 4151, saying 3004 to it, “You deaf 2974 and mute 216 spirit 4151, I command 2004 you, come 1831 out of him and do not enter 1525 him again 3371.”
9:26
After crying 2896 out and throwing 4682 him into terrible 4183 convulsions 4682, it came 1831 out; and [the boy] became 1096 so much 5616 like 5616 a corpse 3498 that most 4183 [of them] said 3004, “He is dead 599!”
9:27
But Jesus 2424 took 2902 him by the hand 5495 and raised 1453 him; and he got 450 up.
9:28
When He came 1525 into [the] house 3624, His disciples 3101 [began] questioning 1905 Him privately 2596 2398, “Why 3739 5101 could 1410 we not drive 1544b it out?”
9:29
And He said 3004 to them, “This 3778 kind 1085 cannot 1410 3762 come 1831 out by anything 3762 but prayer 4335.”
9:30
¶ From there 2547 they went 1831 out and [began] to go 3899 through 1223 Galilee 1056, and He did not want 2309 anyone 5100 to know 1097 [about it].
9:31
For He was teaching 1321 His disciples 3101 and telling 3004 them, “The Son 5207 of Man 444 is to be delivered 3860 into the hands 5495 of men 444, and they will kill 615 Him; and when He has been killed 615, He will rise 450 three 5140 days 2250 later 3326.”
9:32
But they did not understand 50 [this] statement 4487, and they were afraid 5399 to ask 1905 Him.
9:33
¶ They came 2064 to Capernaum 2746b; and when He was in the house 3614, He [began] to question 1905 them, “What 5101 were you discussing 1260 on the way 3598?”
9:34
But they kept 4623 silent 4623, for on the way 3598 they had discussed 1256 with one 240 another 240 which 5101 [of them was] the greatest 3173.
9:35
Sitting 2523 down 2523, He called 5455 the twelve 1427 and *said 3004 to them, “If 1487 anyone 5100 wants 2309 to be first 4413, he shall be last 2078 of all 3956 and servant 1249 of all 3956.”
9:36
Taking 2983 a child 3813, He set 2476 him before 1722 3319 them, and taking 1723 him in His arms 1723, He said 3004 to them,

“Whoever 3739 302 receives 1209 one 1520 child 3813 like 5108 this 5108 in My name 3686 receives 1209 Me; and whoever 3739 302 receives 1209 Me does not receive 1209 Me, but Him who sent 649 Me.”
9:38
¶ John 2491 said 5346 to Him, “Teacher 1320, we saw 3708 someone 5100 casting 1544b out demons 1140 in Your name 3686, and we tried to prevent 2967 him because 3754 he was not following 190 us.”
9:39
But Jesus 2424 said 3004, “Do not hinder 2967 him, for there is no 3762 one 3762 who 3739 will perform 4160 a miracle 1411 in My name 3686, and be able 1410 soon 5035 afterward 5035 to speak 2551 evil 2551 of Me.
9:40
“For he who 3739 is not against 2596 us is for us.
9:41
“For whoever 3739 302 gives 4222 you a cup 4221 of water 5204 to drink 4222 because 3754 of your name 3686 as [followers] of Christ 5547, truly 281 I say 3004 to you, he will not lose 622 his reward 3408.
9:42
¶ “Whoever 3739 causes 4624 one 1520 of these 3778 little 3398 ones 3398 who believe 4100 to stumble 4624, it would be better 2570 3123 for him if 1487, with a heavy 3684 millstone 3458 hung 4029 around 4012 his neck 5137, he had been cast 906 into the sea 2281.

“If 1437 your hand 5495 causes 4624 you to stumble 4624, cut 609 it off 609; it is better 2570 for you to enter 1525 life 2222 crippled 2948, than 2228, having 2192 your two 1417 hands 5495, to go 565 into hell 1067, into the unquenchable 762 fire 4442,

“If 1437 your foot 4228 causes 4624 you to stumble 4624, cut 609 it off 609; it is better 2570 for you to enter 1525 life 2222 lame 5560, than 2228, having 2192 your two 1417 feet 4228, to be cast 906 into hell 1067,

“If 1437 your eye 3788 causes 4624 you to stumble 4624, throw 1544b it out; it is better 2570 for you to enter 1525 the kingdom 932 of God 2316 with one 3442 eye 3442, than 2228, having 2192 two 1417 eyes 3788, to be cast 1544b into hell 1067,
9:48
where 3699 THEIR WORM 4663 DOES NOT DIE 5053, AND THE FIRE 4442 IS NOT QUENCHED 4570.
9:49
¶ “For everyone 3956 will be salted 233 with fire 4442.
9:50
“Salt 217 is good 2570; but if 1437 the salt 217 becomes 1096 unsalty 358, with what 5101 will you make 741 it salty 741 [again]? Have 2192 salt 217 in yourselves 1438, and be at peace 1514 with one 240 another 240.”
