Mark 13

1 Christ foretelleth the destruction of the Temple: 9 the persecutions for the Gospel: 10 that the Gospel must be preached to all nations: 14 that great calamities shall happen to the Jews: 24 and the manner of his coming to judgment: 32 the hour whereof being known to none, every man is to watch and pray, that we be not found unprovided, when he cometh to each one particularly by death.

 13:1 As He was going 1607 out of the temple 2413, one 1520 of His disciples 3101 *said 3004 to Him, “Teacher 1320, behold 2396 what 4217 wonderful 4217 stones 3037 and what 4217 wonderful 4217 buildings 3619!”

 13:2 And Jesus 2424 said 3004 to him, “Do you see 991 these 3778 great 3173 buildings 3619? Not one stone 3037 will be left 863 upon another 3037 which 3739 will not be torn 2647 down 2647.”

 13:3 ¶ As He was sitting 2521 on the Mount 3735 of Olives 1636 opposite 2713 the temple 2413, Peter 4074 and James 2385 and John 2491 and Andrew 406 were questioning 1905 Him privately 2596 2398,

 13:4 “Tell 3004 us, when 4219 will these 3778 things 3778 be, and what 5101 [will be] the sign 4592 when 3752 all 3956 these 3778 things 3778 are going 3195 to be fulfilled 4931?”

 13:5 And Jesus 2424 began 757 to say 3004 to them, “See 991 to it that no 3361 one 5100 misleads 4105 you.

 13:6 “Many 4183 will come 2064 in My name 3686, saying 3004, ‘I am 1510 [He]!’ and will mislead 4105 many 4183.

 13:7 “When 3752 you hear 191 of wars 4171 and rumors 189 of wars 4171, do not be frightened 2360; [those things] must 1163 take 1096 place 1096; but [that is] not yet 3768 the end 5056.

 13:8 “For nation 1484 will rise 1453 up against 1909 nation 1484, and kingdom 932 against 1909 kingdom 932; there will be earthquakes 4578 in various 2596 places 5117; there will [also] be famines 3042. These 3778 things 3778 are [merely] the beginning 746 of birth 5604 pangs 5604.

 13:9 ¶ “But be on your guard 991; for they will deliver 3860 you to [the] courts 4892, and you will be flogged 1194 in [the] synagogues 4864, and you will stand 2476 before 1909 governors 2232 and kings 935 for My sake 1752a, as a testimony 3142 to them.

 13:10 “The gospel 2098 must 1163 first 4413 be preached 2784 to all 3956 the nations 1484.

 13:11 “When 3752 they arrest 71 you and hand 3860 you over, do not worry 4305 beforehand 4305 about what 5101 you are to say 2980, but say 2980 whatever 3739 1437 is given 1325 you in that hour 5610; for it is not you who speak 2980, but [it is] the Holy 40 Spirit 4151.

 13:12 “Brother 80 will betray 3860 brother 80 to death 2288, and a father 3962 [his] child 5043; and children 5043 will rise 1881 up against 1909 parents 1118 and have them put 2289 to death 2289.

 13:13 “You will be hated 3404 by all 3956 because 1223 of My name 3686, but the one who endures 5278 to the end 5056, he will be saved 4982.

 13:14 ¶ “But when 3752 you see 3708 the ABOMINATION 946 OF DESOLATION 2050 standing 2476 where 3699 it should 1163 not be (let the reader 314 understand 3539), then 5119 those 3588 who 3588 are in Judea 2453 must flee 5343 to the mountains 3735.

 13:15 “The one 3739 who 3588 is on the housetop 1430 must not go 2597 down 2597, or 3366 go 2597 in to get 142 anything 5100 out of his house 3614;

 13:16 and the one 3739 who 3588 is in the field 68 must not turn 1994 back 3694 1994 to get 142 his coat 2440.

 13:17 “But woe 3759 to those 3588 who are pregnant 1064 and to those 3588 who are nursing 2337 babies 2337 in those 3588 days 2250!

 13:18 “But pray 4336 that it may not happen 1096 in the winter 5494.

 13:19 “For those 1565 days 2250 will be a [time of] tribulation 2347 such 3634 as has not occurred 1096 since 575 the beginning 746 of the creation 2937 which 3739 God 2316 created 2936 until 2193 now 3568, and never 3756 3361 will.

 13:20 “Unless 1487 the Lord 2962 had shortened 2856 [those] days 2250, no 3756 3956 life 4561 would have been saved 4982; but for the sake 1223 of the elect 1588, whom 3739 He chose 1586, He shortened 2856 the days 2250.

 13:21 “And then 5119 if 1437 anyone 5100 says 3004 to you, ‘Behold 2396, here 5602 is the Christ 5547’; or, ‘Behold 2396, [He is] there 1563’; do not believe 4100 [him];

 13:22 for false 5580 Christs 5580 and false 5578 prophets 5578 will arise 1453, and will show 4160 signs 4592 and wonders 5059, in order 4314 to lead 635 astray 635, if 1487 possible 1415, the elect 1588.

 13:23 “But take 991 heed 991; behold 2400, I have told 4275b you everything 3956 in advance 4275b.

 13:24 ¶ “But in those 1565 days 2250, after 3326 that tribulation 2347, THE SUN 2246 WILL BE DARKENED 4654 AND THE MOON 4582 WILL NOT GIVE 1325 ITS LIGHT 5338,

 13:25 AND THE STARS 792 WILL BE FALLING 4098 from heaven 3772, and the powers 1411 that are in the heavens 3772 will be shaken 4531.

 13:26 “Then 5119 they will see 3708 THE SON 5207 OF MAN 444 COMING 2064 IN CLOUDS 3507 with great 4183 power 1411 and glory 1391.

 13:27 “And then 5119 He will send 649 forth 649 the angels 32a, and will gather 1996 together 1996 His elect 1588 from the four 5064 winds 417, from the farthest 206 end 206 of the earth 1093 to the farthest 206 end 206 of heaven 3772.

 13:28 ¶ “Now 1161 learn 3129 the parable 3850b from the fig 4808 tree 4808: when 3752 its branch 2798 has already 2235 become 1096 tender 527 and puts 1631 forth 1631 its leaves 5444, you know 1097 that summer 2330 is near 1451.

 13:29 “Even so 3779, you too 2532, when 3752 you see 3708 these 3778 things 3778 happening 1096, recognize 1097 that He is near 1451, [right] at the door 2374.

 13:30 “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, this 3778 generation 1074 will not pass 3928 away 3928 until 3360 all 3956 these 3778 things 3778 take 1096 place 1096.

 13:31 “Heaven 3772 and earth 1093 will pass 3928 away 3928, but My words 3056 will not pass 3928 away 3928.

 13:32 “But of that day 2250 or 2228 hour 5610 no 3762 one 3762 knows 3609a, not even 3761 the angels 32a in heaven 3772, nor 3761 the Son 5207, but the Father 3962 [alone].

 13:33 ¶ “Take 991 heed 991, keep 69 on the alert 69; for you do not know 3609a when 4219 the [appointed] time 2540 will come 1510.

 13:34 “[It is] like 5613 a man 444 away 590 on a journey 590, [who] upon leaving 863 his house 3614 and putting 1325 his slaves 1401 in charge 1849, [assigning] to each 1538 one 1538 his task 2041, also 2532 commanded 1781 the doorkeeper 2377 to stay 1127 on the alert 1127.

 13:35 “Therefore 3767, be on the alert 1127—for you do not know 3609a when 4219 the master 2962 of the house 3614 is coming 2064, whether 2228 in the evening 3796, at midnight 3317, or 2228 when 4219 the rooster 219 crows 219, or 2228 in the morning 4404—

 13:36 in case 3361 he should come 2064 suddenly 1810 and find 2147 you asleep 2518.

 13:37 “What 3739 I say 3004 to you I say 3004 to all 3956, ‘Be on the alert 1127!’”
