 26:1 ¶
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first [day] of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
|
 26:1 ¶
And it came to passº
in the eleventhºº
year,º
in the firstº
[day] of the month,º
[that] the wordº
of the LORDº
cameº
untoº
me, saying,ºº |
 26:2
Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken [that was] the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste: |
|
 26:2
Sonº
of man,º
because thatºº
Tyrusº
hath saidºº
againstº
Jerusalem,º
Aha,º
she is brokenºº
[that was] the gatesº
of the people:º
she is turnedºº
untoº
me: I shall be replenished,ºº
[now] she is laid waste:ºº |
 26:3
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up. |
|
 26:3
Thereforeº
thusº
saithºº
the Lordº
GOD;º
Behold,º
I [am] againstº
thee, O Tyrus,º
and will cause manyº
nationsº
to come upºº
againstº
thee, as the seaº
causeth his wavesº
to come up.ºº |
 26:4
And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock. |
|
 26:4
And they shall destroyºº
the wallsº
of Tyrus,º
and break downºº
her towers:º
I will also scrapeºº
her dustº
fromº
her, and makeºº
her like the topº
of a rock.º |
 26:5
She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah; and she shall become a spoil to the nations. |
|
 26:5
It shall beº
[a place for] the spreadingº
of netsº
in the midstº
of the sea:º
forº
Iº
have spokenºº
[it], saithºº
the Lordº
GOD:º
and it shall becomeº
a spoilº
to the nations.º |
 26:6
And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am Jehovah. |
|
 26:6
And her daughtersº
whichº
[are] in the fieldº
shall be slainºº
by the sword;º
and they shall knowºº
thatº
Iº
[am] the LORD.º |
 26:7 ¶
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people. |
|
 26:7 ¶
Forº
thusº
saithºº
the Lordº
GOD;º
Behold,º
I will bringºº
uponº
Tyrusº
Nebuchadrezzarº
kingº
of Babylon,º
a kingº
of kings,º
from the north,ºº
with horses,º
and with chariots,º
and with horsemen,º
and companies,º
and muchº
people.º |
 26:8
He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and raise up the buckler against thee. |
|
 26:8
He shall slayºº
with the swordº
thy daughtersº
in the field:º
and he shall makeºº
a fortº
againstº
thee, and castºº
a mountº
againstº
thee, and lift upºº
the bucklerº
againstº
thee. |
 26:9
And he shall set his battering engines against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. |
|
 26:9
And he shall setºº
enginesº
of warº
against thy walls,º
and with his axesº
he shall break downºº
thy towers.º |
 26:10
By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach. |
|
 26:10
By reason of the abundanceºº
of his horsesº
their dustº
shall coverºº
thee: thy wallsº
shall shakeºº
at the noiseºº
of the horsemen,º
and of the wheels,º
and of the chariots,º
when he shall enterºº
into thy gates,º
as men enterº
intoº
a cityº
wherein is made a breach.ºº |
 26:11
With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword; and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground. |
|
 26:11
With the hoofsº
of his horsesº
shall he tread downººº
allº
thy streets:º
he shall slayºº
thy peopleº
by the sword,º
and thy strongº
garrisonsº
shall go downºº
to the ground.º |
 26:12
And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses; and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the waters. |
|
 26:12
And they shall make a spoilºº
of thy riches,º
and make a preyºº
of thy merchandise:º
and they shall break downºº
thy walls,º
and destroyºº
thy pleasantº
houses:º
and they shall layºº
thy stonesº
and thy timberº
and thy dustº
in the midstº
of the water.º |
 26:13
And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard. |
|
 26:13
And I will cause the noiseº
of thy songsº
to cease;ºº
and the soundº
of thy harpsº
shall be noº
moreº
heard.ºº |
 26:14
And I will make thee a bare rock; thou shalt be a place for the spreading of nets; thou shalt be built no more: for I Jehovah have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
|
 26:14
And I will makeºº
thee like the topº
of a rock:º
thou shalt beº
[a place] to spreadºº
netsº
upon;ºº
thou shalt be builtºº
noº
more:º
forº
Iº
the LORDº
have spokenºº
[it], saithºº
the Lordº
GOD.º |
 26:15 ¶
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Tyre: shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee? |
|
 26:15 ¶
Thusº
saithºº
the Lordº
GODº
to Tyrus;º
Shall notº
the islesº
shakeºº
at the soundºº
of thy fall,º
when the woundedº
cry,ºº
when the slaughterº
is madeºº
in the midstº
of thee? |
 26:16
Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at thee. |
|
 26:16
Then allº
the princesº
of the seaº
shall come downºº
fromºº
their thrones,º
and lay awayººº
their robes,º
and put offºº
their broideredº
garments:º
they shall clotheºº
themselves with trembling;º
they shall sitºº
uponº
the ground,º
and shall trembleºº
at [every] moment,º
and be astonishedºº
atº
thee. |
 26:17
And they shall take up a lamentation over thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, that was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, that caused their terror to be on all that dwelt there! |
|
 26:17
And they shall take upºº
a lamentationº
forº
thee, and sayºº
to thee, Howº
art thou destroyed,ºº
[that wast] inhabitedºº
of seafaring men,ºº
the renownedºº
city,º
whichº
wastº
strongº
in the sea,º
sheº
and her inhabitants,ºº
whichº
causeºº
their terrorº
[to be] on allº
that hauntºº
it! |
 26:18
Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be dismayed at thy departure. |
|
 26:18
Nowº
shall the islesº
trembleºº
in the dayº
of thy fall;º
yea, the islesº
thatº
[are] in the seaº
shall be troubledºº
at thy departure.ººº |
 26:19
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee; |
|
 26:19
Forº
thusº
saithºº
the Lordº
GOD;º
When I shall makeºº
thee a desolateºº
city,º
like the citiesº
thatº
are notº
inhabited;ºº
when I shall bring upººº
the deepº
uponº
thee, and greatº
watersº
shall coverºº
thee; |
 26:20
then will I bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make thee to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living: |
|
 26:20
When I shall bring thee downºº
withº
them that descendºº
into the pit,º
withº
the peopleº
of old time,º
and shall setºº
thee in the low partsº
of the earth,º
in places desolateº
of old,ºº
withº
them that go downºº
to the pit,º
thatº
thou be notº
inhabited;ºº
and I shall setºº
gloryº
in the landº
of the living;º |
 26:21
I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt no more have any being; though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
|
 26:21
I will makeºº
thee a terror,º
and thou [shalt be] noº
[more]: though thou be sought for,ºº
yet shalt thou neverºº
be foundºº
again,º
saithºº
the Lordº
GOD.º |
