25:1
The LORD 3068 then spoke 1696 to Moses 4872 at Mount 2022 Sinai 5514, saying 559,
25:2
“Speak 1696 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 and say 559 to them, ‘When 3588 you come 935 into the land 776 which 834 I shall give 5414 you, then the land 776 shall have 7673b a sabbath 7676 to the LORD 3068.
25:3
‘Six 8337a years 8141 you shall sow 2232 your field 7704, and six 8337a years 8141 you shall prune 2168 your vineyard 3754 and gather 622 in its crop 8393,
25:4
but during the seventh 7637 year 8141 the land 776 shall have 1961 a sabbath 7676 rest 7677, a sabbath 7676 to the LORD 3068; you shall not sow 2232 your field 7704 nor 3808 prune 2168 your vineyard 3754.
25:5
‘Your harvest’s 7105a aftergrowth 5599b you shall not reap 7114b, and your grapes 6025 of untrimmed 5139 vines 5139 you shall not gather 1219; the land 776 shall have 1961 a sabbatical 7677 year 8141.
25:6
‘All of you shall have 1961 the sabbath 7676 [products] of the land 776 for food 402; yourself, and your male 5650 and female 519 slaves 519 5650, and your hired 7916 man 7916 and your foreign 8453 resident 8453, those who live 1481a as aliens 1481a with you.
25:7
‘Even your cattle 929 and the animals 2421b that are in your land 776 shall have 1961 all 3605 its crops 8393 to eat 398.
25:8
¶ ‘You are also to count 5608 off seven 7651 sabbaths 7676 of years 8141 for yourself, seven 7651 times 6471 seven 7651 years 8141, so that you have 1961 the time 3117 of the seven 7651 sabbaths 7676 of years 8141, [namely], forty-nine 705 8672 years 8141.
25:9
‘You shall then sound 5674a a ram’s 7782 horn 7782 abroad on the tenth 6218 day of the seventh 7637 month 2320; on the day 3117 of atonement 3725 you shall sound 5674a a horn 7782 all 3605 through your land 776.
25:10
‘You shall thus consecrate 6942 the fiftieth 2572 year 8141 and proclaim 7121 a release 1865 through the land 776 to all 3605 its inhabitants 3427. It shall be a jubilee 3104 for you, and each 376 of you shall return 7725 to his own property 272, and each 376 of you shall return 7725 to his family 4940.
25:11
‘You shall have 1961 the fiftieth 2572 year 8141 as a jubilee 3104; you shall not sow 2232, nor 3808 reap 7114b its aftergrowth 5599b, nor 3808 gather 1219 in [from] its untrimmed 5139 vines 5139.
25:12
‘For it is a jubilee 3104; it shall be holy 6944 to you. You shall eat 398 its crops 8393 out of the field 7704.
25:13
¶ ‘On this 2088 year 8141 of jubilee 3104 each 376 of you shall return 7725 to his own property 272.
25:14
‘If 3588 you make 4376 a sale 4465, moreover, to your friend 5997 or 176 buy 7069 from your friend’s 5997 hand 3027, you shall not wrong 3238 one 376 another 251.
25:15
‘Corresponding to the number 4557 of years 8141 after 310 the jubilee 3104, you shall buy 7069 from your friend 5997; he is to sell 4376 to you according to the number 4557 of years 8141 of crops 8393.
25:16
‘In proportion 6310 to the extent 7230 of the years 8141 you shall increase 7235a its price 4736, and in proportion 6310 to the fewness 4591 of the years 8141 you shall diminish 4591 its price 4736, for [it is] a number 4557 of crops 8393 he is selling 4376 to you.
25:17
‘So you shall not wrong 3238 one 376 another 5997, but you shall fear 3372a your God 430; for I am the LORD 3068 your God 430.
25:18
¶ ‘You shall thus observe 6213a My statutes 2708 and keep 8104 My judgments 4941, so as to carry 6213a them out, that you may live 3427 securely 983 on the land 776.
25:19
‘Then the land 776 will yield 5414 its produce 6529, so that you can eat 398 your fill 7648 and live 3427 securely 983 on it.
25:20
‘But if 3588 you say 559, “What 4100 are we going to eat 398 on the seventh 7637 year 8141 if 2005 we do not sow 2232 or gather 622 in our crops 8393?”
25:21
then I will so order 6680 My blessing 1293 for you in the sixth 8345 year 8141 that it will bring 6213a forth 6213a the crop 8393 for three 7969 years 8141.
25:22
‘When you are sowing 2232 the eighth 8066 year 8141, you can still eat 398 old 3465 things 3465 from the crop 8393, eating 398 [the old] until 5704 the ninth 8671 year 8141 when 5704 its crop 8393 comes 935 in.
25:23
¶ ‘The land 776, moreover, shall not be sold 4376 permanently 6783, for the land 776 is Mine; for you are [but] aliens 1616 and sojourners 8453 with Me.
25:24
‘Thus for every 3605 piece 776 of your property 272, you are to provide 5414 for the redemption 1353 of the land 776.
25:25
¶ ‘If 3588 a fellow 251 countryman 251 of yours becomes 4134 so poor 4134 he has to sell 4376 part of his property 272, then his nearest 7138 kinsman 1350 is to come 935 and buy 1350 back 1350 what 4465 his relative 251 has sold 4465.
25:26
‘Or in case 3588 a man 376 has 1961 no 3808 kinsman 1350, but so recovers 5381 his means 3027 as to find 4672 sufficient 1767 for its redemption 1353,
25:27
then he shall calculate 2803 the years 8141 since its sale 4465 and refund 7725 the balance 5736 to the man 376 to whom 834 he sold 4376 it, and so return 7725 to his property 272.
25:28
‘But if 518 he has not found 4672 sufficient 1767 means 3027 to get 7725 it back 7725 for himself, then what 4465 he has sold 4465 shall remain 1961 in the hands 3027 of its purchaser 7069 until 5704 the year 8141 of jubilee 3104; but at the jubilee 3104 it shall revert 3318, that he may return 7725 to his property 272.
25:29
¶ ‘Likewise, if 3588 a man 376 sells 4376 a dwelling 4186 house 1004 in a walled 2346 city 5892b, then his redemption 1353 right 1353 remains 1961 valid until 5704 a full 8552 year 8141 from its sale 4465; his right 1353 of redemption 1353 lasts 1961 a full 3117 year 3117.
25:30
‘But if 518 it is not bought 1350 back 1350 for him within 5704 the space 4390 of a full 8549 year 8141, then the house 1004 that is in the walled 2346 city 5892b passes 6965 permanently 6783 to its purchaser 7069 throughout his generations 1755; it does not revert 3318 in the jubilee 3104.
25:31
‘The houses 1004 of the villages 2691b, however, which 834 have 369 no 369 surrounding 5439 wall 2346 shall be considered 2803 as open 776 fields 7704; they have 1961 redemption 1353 rights 1353 and revert 3318 in the jubilee 3104.
25:32
‘As for cities 5892b of the Levites 3881, the Levites 3881 have 1961 a permanent 5769 right 1353 of redemption 1353 for the houses 1004 of the cities 5892b which are their possession 272.
25:33
‘What 834, therefore, belongs 4480 to the Levites 3881 may be redeemed 1350 and a house 1004 sale 4465 in the city 5892b of this possession 272 reverts 3318 in the jubilee 3104, for the houses 1004 of the cities 5892b of the Levites 3881 are their possession 272 among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.
25:34
‘But pasture 4054 fields 7704 of their cities 5892b shall not be sold 4376, for that is their perpetual 5769 possession 272.
25:35
¶ ‘Now in case 3588 a countryman 251 of yours becomes 4134 poor 4134 and his means 3027 with regard 5973 to you falter 4131, then you are to sustain 2388 him, like a stranger 1616 or a sojourner 8453, that he may live 2421a with you.
25:36
‘Do not take 3947 usurious 8636 interest 5392 from him, but revere 3372a your God 430, that your countryman 251 may live 2421a with you.
25:37
‘You shall not give 5414 him your silver 3701 at interest 5392, nor 3808 your food 400 for gain 4768.
25:38
‘I am the LORD 3068 your God 430, who 834 brought 3318 you out of the land 776 of Egypt 4714 to give 5414 you the land 776 of Canaan 3667a [and] to be your God 430.
25:39
¶ ‘If 3588 a countryman 251 of yours becomes 4134 so poor 4134 with regard 5973 to you that he sells 4376 himself to you, you shall not subject 5647 him to a slave’s 5650 service 5656.
25:40
‘He shall be with you as a hired 7916 man 7916, as if he were a sojourner 8453; he shall serve 5647 with you until 5704 the year 8141 of jubilee 3104.
25:41
‘He shall then go 3318 out from you, he and his sons 1121 with him, and shall go 7725 back 7725 to his family 4940, that he may return 7725 to the property 272 of his forefathers 1.
25:42
‘For they are My servants 5650 whom 834 I brought 3318 out from the land 776 of Egypt 4714; they are not to be sold 4376 [in] a slave 5650 sale 4466.
25:43
‘You shall not rule 7287a over him with severity 6531, but are to revere 3372a your God 430.
25:44
‘As for your male 5650 and female 519 slaves 519 5650 whom 834 you may have 1961—you may acquire 7069 male 5650 and female 519 slaves 519 5650 from the pagan nations 1471 that are around 5439 you.
25:45
‘Then, too 1571, [it is] out of the sons 1121 of the sojourners 8453 who live 1481a as aliens 1481a among 5973 you that you may gain 7069 acquisition 7069, and out of their families 4940 who 834 are with you, whom 834 they will have produced 3205 in your land 776; they also may become 1961 your possession 272.
25:46
‘You may even bequeath 5157 them to your sons 1121 after 310 you, to receive 3423 as a possession 272; you can use 5647 them as permanent 5769 slaves 5647. But in respect to your countrymen 251, the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, you shall not rule 7287a with severity 6531 over one 376 another 251.
25:47
¶ ‘Now if 3588 the means 3027 of a stranger 1616 or of a sojourner 8453 with you becomes 5381 sufficient 5381, and a countryman 251 of yours becomes 4134 so poor 4134 with regard 5973 to him as to sell 4376 himself to a stranger 1616 who is sojourning 8453 with you, or 176 to the descendants 6133 of a stranger’s 1616 family 4940,
25:48
then he shall have 1961 redemption 1353 right 1353 after 310 he has been sold 4376. One 259 of his brothers 251 may redeem 1350 him,
25:49
or 176 his uncle 1730, or 176 his uncle’s 1730 son 1121, may redeem 1350 him, or 176 one of his blood 7607 relatives 7607 from his family 4940 may redeem 1350 him; or 176 if he prospers 5381, he may redeem 1350 himself.
25:50
‘He then with his purchaser 7069 shall calculate 2803 from the year 8141 when he sold 4376 himself to him up to the year 8141 of jubilee 3104; and the price 3701 of his sale 4465 shall correspond 1961 to the number 4557 of years 8141. [It is] like the days 3117 of a hired 7916 man 7916 [that] he shall be with him.
25:51
‘If 518 there are still 5750 many 7227a years 8141, he shall refund 7725 part of his purchase 4736 price 3701 in proportion 6310 to them for his own redemption 1353;
25:52
and if 518 few 4592 years 8141 remain 7604 until 5704 the year 8141 of jubilee 3104, he shall so calculate 2803 with him. In proportion 6310 to his years 8141 he is to refund 7725 [the amount for] his redemption 1353.
25:53
‘Like a man 7916 hired 7916 year 8141 by year 8141 he shall be with him; he shall not rule 7287a over him with severity 6531 in your sight 5869.
25:54
‘Even if 518 he is not redeemed 1350 by these 428 [means], he shall still go 3318 out in the year 8141 of jubilee 3104, he and his sons 1121 with him.
25:55
‘For the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 are My servants 5650; they are My servants 5650 whom 834 I brought 3318 out from the land 776 of Egypt 4714. I am the LORD 3068 your God 430.
