Leviticus 22

1 The priests in their uncleanness must abstain from the holy things. 6 How they shall be cleansed. 10 Who of the priest's house may eat of the holy things. 17 The sacrifices must be without blemish. 26 The age of the sacrifice. 29 The law of eating the sacrifice of thanksgiving.

 22:1 Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 22:2 “Tell 1696 Aaron 175 and his sons 1121 to be careful 5144a with the holy 6944 [gifts] of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, which 834 they dedicate 6942 to Me, so as not to profane 2490c My holy 6944 name 8034; I am the LORD 3068.

 22:3 “Say 559 to them, ‘If any 3605 man 376 among 4480 all 3605 your descendants 2233 throughout your generations 1755 approaches 7126 the holy 6944 [gifts] which 834 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 dedicate 6942 to the LORD 3068, while he has an uncleanness 2932a, that person 5315 shall be cut 3772 off 3772 from before 4480 6440 Me; I am the LORD 3068.

 22:4 ‘No 376 3808 man 376 of the descendants 2233 of Aaron 175, who 1931 is a leper 6879 or 176 who has a discharge 2100, may eat 398 of the holy 6944 [gifts] until 5704 834 he is clean 2891. And if one touches 5060 anything 3605 made unclean 2931 by a corpse 5315 or 176 if a man 376 has 3318 a seminal 7902 2233 emission 7902,

 22:5 or 176 if a man 376 touches 5060 any 3605 teeming 8318 things 8318 by which 834 he is made 2930 unclean 2930, or 176 any 120 man 120 by whom 834 he is made 2930 unclean 2930, whatever 3605 his uncleanness 2932a;

 22:6 a person 5315 who 834 touches 5060 any such shall be unclean 2930 until 5704 evening 6153, and shall not eat 398 of the holy 6944 [gifts] unless 3588 518 he has bathed 7364 his body 1320 in water 4325.

 22:7 ‘But when the sun 8121 sets 935, he will be clean 2891, and afterward 310 he shall eat 398 of the holy 6944 [gifts], for it is his food 3899.

 22:8 ‘He shall not eat 398 [an animal] which 5038 dies 5038 or is torn 2966 [by beasts], becoming 2930 unclean 2930 by it; I am the LORD 3068.

 22:9 ‘They shall therefore keep 8104 My charge 4931, so that they will not bear 5375 sin 2399 because 5921 of it and die 4191 thereby because 3588 they profane 2490c it; I am the LORD 3068 who sanctifies 6942 them.

 22:10 ¶ ‘No 3808 layman 2114a, however, is to eat 398 the holy 6944 [gift]; a sojourner 8453 with the priest 3548 or a hired 7916 man 7916 shall not eat 398 of the holy 6944 [gift].

 22:11 ‘But if 3588 a priest 3548 buys 7069 a slave 5315 as [his] property 7075 with his money 3701, that one 1931 may eat 398 of it, and those 1992a who 3211 are born 3211 in his house 1004 may eat 398 of his food 3899.

 22:12 ‘If 3588 a priest’s 3548 daughter 1323 is married 802 to a layman 2114a, she shall not eat 398 of the offering 8641 of the [gifts].

 22:13 ‘But if 3588 a priest’s 3548 daughter 1323 becomes 1961 a widow 490 or divorced 1644, and has 369 no 369 child 2233 and returns 7725 to her father’s 1 house 1004 as in her youth 5271, she shall eat 398 of her father’s 1 food 3899; but no 3808 3605 layman 2114a shall eat 398 of it.

 22:14 ‘But if 3588 a man 376 eats 398 a holy 6944 [gift] unintentionally 7684, then he shall add 3254 to it a fifth 2549 of it and shall give 5414 the holy 6944 [gift] to the priest 3548.

 22:15 ‘They shall not profane 2490c the holy 6944 [gifts] of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 which 834 they offer 7311 to the LORD 3068,

 22:16 and [so] cause them to bear 5375 punishment 5771 for guilt 819 by eating 398 their holy 6944 [gifts]; for I am the LORD 3068 who sanctifies 6942 them.’”

 22:17 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 22:18 “Speak 1696 to Aaron 175 and to his sons 1121 and to all 3605 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 and say 559 to them, ‘Any 376 man 376 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 or of the aliens 1616 in Israel 3478 who 834 presents 7126 his offering 7133a, whether it is any 3605 of their votive 5088 or any 3605 of their freewill 5071 offerings 5071, which 834 they present 7126 to the LORD 3068 for a burnt 5930a offering 5930a—

 22:19 for you to be accepted 7522—[it must be] a male 2145 without 8549 defect 8549 from the cattle 1241, the sheep 3775, or the goats 5795.

 22:20 ‘Whatever 3605 834 has a defect 4140b, you shall not offer 7126, for it will not be accepted 7522 for you.

 22:21 ‘When 3588 a man 376 offers 7126 a sacrifice 2077 of peace 8002 offerings 8002 to the LORD 3068 to fulfill 6381 a special 6381 vow 5088 or 176 for a freewill 5071 offering 5071, of the herd 1241 or 176 of the flock 6629, it must be perfect 8549 to be accepted 7522; there shall be no 3808 3605 defect 4140b in it.

 22:22 ‘Those [that are] blind 5788b or 176 fractured 7665 or 176 maimed 2782 or 176 having a running 2990 sore 2990 or 176 eczema 1618 or 176 scabs 3217, you shall not offer 7126 to the LORD 3068, nor 3808 make 5414 of them an offering 801 by fire 801 on the altar 4196 to the LORD 3068.

 22:23 ‘In respect to an ox 7794 or a lamb 7716 which has an overgrown 8311 or stunted 7038 [member], you may present 6213a it for a freewill 5071 offering 5071, but for a vow 5088 it will not be accepted 7521.

 22:24 ‘Also anything [with its testicles] bruised 4600 or crushed 3807 or torn 5423 or cut 3772, you shall not offer 7126 to the LORD 3068, or sacrifice 6213a in your land 776,

 22:25 nor 3808 shall you accept 7126 any 4480 3605 such 428 from the hand 3027 of a foreigner 1121 5236 for offering 7126 as the food 3899 of your God 430; for their corruption 4893a is in them, they have a defect 4140b, they shall not be accepted 7521 for you.’”

 22:26 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 22:27 “When 3588 an ox 7794 or 176 a sheep 3775 or 176 a goat 5795 is born 3205, it shall remain 1961 seven 7651 days 3117 with its mother 517, and from the eighth 8066 day 3117 on it shall be accepted 7521 as a sacrifice 7133a of an offering 801 by fire 801 to the LORD 3068.

 22:28 “But, [whether] it is an ox 7794 or 176 a sheep 7716, you shall not kill 7819 [both] it and its young 1121 in one 259 day 3117.

 22:29 “When 3588 you sacrifice 2076 a sacrifice 2077 of thanksgiving 8426 to the LORD 3068, you shall sacrifice 2076 it so that you may be accepted 7522.

 22:30 “It shall be eaten 398 on the same 1931 day 3117, you shall leave 3498 none 3808 of it until 5704 morning 1242; I am the LORD 3068.

 22:31 “So you shall keep 8104 My commandments 4687, and do 6213a them; I am the LORD 3068.

 22:32 ¶ “You shall not profane 2490c My holy 6944 name 8034, but I will be sanctified 6942 among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478; I am the LORD 3068 who sanctifies 6942 you,

 22:33 who brought 3318 you out from the land 776 of Egypt 4714, to be your God 430; I am the LORD 3068.”
