Hosea 11

1 The ingratitude of Israel unto God for his benefits. 5 His judgment. 8 God's mercy toward them.

 11:1 When 3588 Israel 3478 [was] a youth 5288 I loved 157 him, And out of Egypt 4714 I called 7121 My son 1121.

 11:2 The more they called 7121 them, The more 3651 they went 1980 from them; They kept sacrificing 2076 to the Baals 1168a And burning 6999 incense 6999 to idols 6456.

 11:3 Yet it is I who taught 7270 Ephraim 669 to walk 7270, I took 3947 them in My arms 2220; But they did not know 3045 that I healed 7495 them.

 11:4 I led 4900 them with cords 2256a of a man 120, with bonds 5688 of love 160, And I became 1961 to them as one who lifts 7311 the yoke 5923 from their jaws 3895; And I bent 5186 down 5186 [and] fed 398 them.

 11:5 ¶ They will not return 7725 to the land 776 of Egypt 4714; But Assyria 804b—he will be their king 4428 Because 3588 they refused 3985 to return 7725 [to Me].

 11:6 The sword 2719 will whirl 2342a against their cities 5892b, And will demolish 3615 their gate bars 905 And consume 3615 [them] because 4480 of their counsels 4156.

 11:7 So My people 5971a are bent 8511 on turning 4878 from Me. Though they call 7121 them to [the One] on high 5920, None 3808 at all 3162 exalts 7311 [Him].

 11:8 ¶ How 349 can I give 5414 you up, O Ephraim 669? How can I surrender 4042 you, O Israel 3478? How 349 can I make 5414 you like Admah 126? How can I treat 7760 you like Zeboiim 6636? My heart 3820 is turned 2015 over 2015 within 5921 Me, All 3162 My compassions 5150 are kindled 3648.

 11:9 I will not execute 6213a My fierce 2740 anger 639; I will not destroy 7843 Ephraim 669 again 7725. For I am God 410 and not man 376, the Holy 6918 One 6918 in your midst 7130, And I will not come 935 in wrath 5892a.

 11:10 They will walk 1980 after 310 the LORD 3068, He will roar 7580 like a lion 743b; Indeed 3588 He will roar 7580 And [His] sons 1121 will come 2729 trembling 2729 from the west 3220.

 11:11 They will come 2729 trembling 2729 like birds 6833 from Egypt 4714 And like doves 3123 from the land 776 of Assyria 804b; And I will settle 3427 them in their houses 1004, declares 5002 the LORD 3068.

 11:12 ¶ Ephraim 669 surrounds 5437 Me with lies 3585 And the house 1004 of Israel 3478 with deceit 4820; Judah 3063 is also 5750 unruly 7300 against 5973 God 410, Even against 5973 the Holy 6918 One 6918 who is faithful 539.
