Hosea 7

1 A reproof of manifold sins. 11 God's wrath against them for their hypocrisy.

 7:1 When I would heal 7495 Israel 3478, The iniquity 5771 of Ephraim 669 is uncovered 1540, And the evil 7463a deeds 7463a of Samaria 8111, For they deal 6466 falsely 8267; The thief 1590 enters 935 in, Bandits 1416 raid 6584 outside 2351,

 7:2 And they do not consider 559 in their hearts 3824 That I remember 2142 all 3605 their wickedness 7463a. Now 6258 their deeds 4611 are all 5437 around 5437 them; They are before 5048 My face 6440.

 7:3 With their wickedness 7463a they make 8055 the king 4428 glad 8055, And the princes 8269 with their lies 3585.

 7:4 They are all 3605 adulterers 5003, Like 3644 an oven 8574 heated 1197a by the baker 644 Who ceases 7673a to stir 5782 up [the fire] From the kneading 3888 of the dough 1217 until 5704 it is leavened 2556a.

 7:5 On the day 3117 of our king 4428, the princes 8269 became 2470a sick 2470a with the heat 2534 of wine 3196; He stretched 4900 out his hand 3027 with scoffers 3917b,

 7:6 For their hearts 3820 are like an oven 8574 [As] they approach 7126 their plotting 696; Their anger 644 smolders 3463 all 3605 night 3915, In the morning 1242 it burns 1197a like a flaming 3852 fire 784.

 7:7 All 3605 of them are hot 2552 like an oven 8574, And they consume 398 their rulers 8199; All 3605 their kings 4428 have fallen 5307. None 369 of them calls 7121 on Me.

 7:8 ¶ Ephraim 669 mixes 1101a himself 1931 with the nations 5971a; Ephraim 669 has become 1961 a cake 5692 not turned 2015.

 7:9 Strangers 2114a devour 398 his strength 3581b, Yet he does not know 3045 [it]; Gray 7872 hairs 7872 also 1571 are sprinkled 2236b on him, Yet he does not know 3045 [it].

 7:10 Though the pride 1347b of Israel 3478 testifies 6030a against 6440 him, Yet they have not returned 7725 to the LORD 3068 their God 430, Nor 3808 have they sought 1245 Him, for all 3605 this 2088.

 7:11 So Ephraim 669 has become 1961 like a silly 6601b dove 3123, without 369 sense 3820; They call 7121 to Egypt 4714, they go 1980 to Assyria 804b.

 7:12 When 3512c they go 1980, I will spread 6566 My net 7568 over 5921 them; I will bring 3381 them down 3381 like the birds 5775 of the sky 8064. I will chastise 3256 them in accordance with the proclamation 8088 to their assembly 5712.

 7:13 Woe 188 to them, for they have strayed 5074 from Me! Destruction 7701 is theirs, for they have rebelled 6586 against Me! I would redeem 6299 them, but they speak 1696 lies 3577 against 5921 Me.

 7:14 And they do not cry 2199 to Me from their heart 3820 When 3588 they wail 3213 on their beds 4904; For the sake 5921 of grain 1715 and new 8492 wine 8492 they assemble 1481a themselves, They turn 5493 away 5493 from Me.

 7:15 Although I trained 3256 [and] strengthened 2388 their arms 2220, Yet they devise 2803 evil 7451b against 413 Me.

 7:16 They turn 7725, [but] not upward 5920, They are like a deceitful 7423a bow 7198; Their princes 8269 will fall 5307 by the sword 2719 Because 4480 of the insolence 2195 of their tongue 3956. This 2097 [will be] their derision 3933 in the land 776 of Egypt 4714.
