 1:1 Div'rëy ämôš ásher-häyäh vaNoq'diym miT'qôª ásher chäzäh al-yis'räël Biymëy uZiYäh melekh'-y'hûdäh ûviymëy yäräv'äm Ben-yôäsh melekh' yis'räël sh'nätayim lif'nëy häräash

 1:1 ¶ The words 1697 of `Ämôs עָמוֹס, 5986 who x834 was x1961 among the herdmen 5349 of Tækôå` תְּקוֹעַ, 8620 x4480 which x834 he saw 2372 z8804 concerning x5921 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 in the days 3117 of `Uzziyyà עֻזִּיָּה 5818 king 4428 of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה, 3063 and in the days 3117 of Yorov`äm יָרָבעָם 3379 the son 1121 of Yô´äš יוֹאָשׁ 3101 king 4428 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 two years 8141 before 6440 the earthquake. 7494

וַיֹּאמַר יְהוָה מִצִּיּוֹן יִשְׁאָג וּמִירוּשָׁלִַם יִתֵּן קוֹלוֹ וְאָבְלוּ נְאוֹת הָרֹעִים וְיָבֵשׁ רֹאשׁ הַכַּרְמֶל פ

 1:2 waYomar y'hwäh miTZiYôn yish'äg ûmiyrûshälaim yiTën qôlô w'äv'lû n'ôt häroiym w'yävësh rosh haKar'mel f

 1:2 And he said, 559 z8799 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 will roar 7580 z8799 from Xiyyôn צִיּוֹן, 6726 x4480 and utter 5414 z8799 his voice 6963 from Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם; 3389 x4480 and the habitations 4999 of the shepherds 7462 z8802 shall mourn, 56 z8804 and the top 7218 of Carmel כַּרמֶל 3760 shall wither. 3001 z8804

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה פִּשְׁעֵי דַמֶּשֶׂק וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָה לֹא אֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ עַל־דּוּשָׁם בַּחֲרֻצוֹת הַבַּרְזֶל אֶת־הַגִּלְעָד

 1:3 Koh ämar y'hwäh al-sh'loshäh Pish'ëy daMeseq w'al-ar'Bääh lo áshiyveNû al-Dûshäm Bachárutzôt haBar'zel et-haGil'äd

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי אֵשׁ בְּבֵית חֲזָאֵל וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנוֹת בֶּן־הֲדָד

וְשָׁבַרְתִּי בְּרִיחַ דַּמֶּשֶׂק וְהִכְרַתִּי יוֹשֵׁב מִבִּקְעַת־אָוֶן וְתוֹמֵךְ שֵׁבֶט מִבֵּית עֶדֶן וְגָלוּ עַם־אֲרָם קִירָה אָמַר יְהוָה פ

 1:5 w'shävar'Tiy B'riyªch DaMeseq w'hikh'raTiy yôshëv miBiq'at-äwen w'tômëkh' shëveţ miBëyt eden w'gälû am-áräm qiyräh ämar y'hwäh f

 1:5 I will break 7665 z8804 also the bar 1280 of Dammäŝek דַּמָּשֶׂק, 1834 and cut off 3772 z8689 the inhabitant 3427 z8802 from the plain 1237 x4480 of ´Äwen אָוֶן, 206 and him that holdeth 8551 z8802 the sceptre 7626 from the house y1004 of `Ëđen עֵדֶן: 1040 y5731 z8677 x4480 and the people 5971 of ´Áräm אֲרָם 758 shall go into captivity 1540 z8804 unto Kîr קִיר, 7024 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה. 3068

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה פִּשְׁעֵי עַזָּה וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָה לֹא אֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ עַל־הַגְלוֹתָם גָּלוּת שְׁלֵמָה לְהַסְגִּיר לֶאֱדוֹם

 1:6 Koh ämar y'hwäh al-sh'loshäh Pish'ëy aZäh w'al-ar'Bääh lo áshiyveNû al-hag'lôtäm Gälût sh'lëmäh l'haš'Giyr leédôm

 1:6 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of `Azzà עַזָּה, 5804 and for x5921 four, 702 I will not x3808 turn away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof; because x5921 they carried away captive 1540 z8687 the whole 8003 captivity, 1546 to deliver [them] up 5462 z8687 to ´Éđôm אֱדוֹם: 123

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי אֵשׁ בְּחוֹמַת עַזָּה וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנֹתֶיהָ

 1:7 But I will send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 on the wall 2346 of `Azzà עַזָּה, 5804 which shall devour 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof:

וְהִכְרַתִּי יוֹשֵׁב מֵאַשְׁדּוֹד וְתוֹמֵךְ שֵׁבֶט מֵאַשְׁקְלוֹן וַהֲשִׁיבוֹתִי יָדִי עַל־עֶקְרוֹן וְאָבְדוּ שְׁאֵרִית פְּלִשְׁתִּים אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה פ

 1:8 w'hikh'raTiy yôshëv mëash'Dôd w'tômëkh' shëveţ mëash'q'lôn waháshiyvôtiy yädiy al-eq'rôn w'äv'dû sh'ëriyt P'lish'Tiym ämar ádonäy y'hwih f

 1:8 And I will cut off 3772 z8689 the inhabitant 3427 z8802 from ´Ašdôđ אַשׁדּוֹד, 795 x4480 and him that holdeth 8551 z8802 the sceptre 7626 from ´Aškælôn אַשׁקְלוֹן, 831 x4480 and I will turn 7725 z8689 mine hand 3027 against x5921 `Ekrôn עֶקרוֹן: 6138 and the remnant 7611 of the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 shall perish, 6 z8804 saith 559 z8804 ´Áđönäy אֲדֹנָי 136 Yähwè יָהוֶה. 3069

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה פִּשְׁעֵי־צֹר וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָה לֹא אֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ עַל־הַסְגִּירָם גָּלוּת שְׁלֵמָה לֶאֱדוֹם וְלֹא זָכְרוּ בְּרִית אַחִים

 1:9 Koh ämar y'hwäh al-sh'loshäh Pish'ëy-tzor w'al-ar'Bääh lo áshiyveNû al-haš'Giyräm Gälût sh'lëmäh leédôm w'lo zäkh'rû B'riyt achiym

 1:9 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of Xôr צוֹר, 6865 and for x5921 four, 702 I will not x3808 turn away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof; because x5921 they delivered up 5462 z8687 the whole 8003 captivity 1546 to ´Éđôm אֱדוֹם, 123 and remembered 2142 z8804 not x3808 the brotherly 251 covenant: 1285

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי אֵשׁ בְּחוֹמַת צֹר וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנֹתֶיהָ פ

 1:10 w'shiLach'Tiy ësh B'chômat tzor w'äkh'läh ar'm'noteyhä f

 1:10 But I will send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 on the wall 2346 of Xôr צוֹר, 6865 which shall devour 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof.

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה פִּשְׁעֵי אֱדוֹם וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָה לֹא אֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ עַל־רָדְפוֹ בַחֶרֶב אָחִיו וְשִׁחֵת רַחֲמָיו וַיִּטְרֹף לָעַד אַפּוֹ וְעֶבְרָתוֹ שְׁמָרָה נֶצַח

 1:11 Koh ämar y'hwäh al-sh'loshäh Pish'ëy édôm w'al-ar'Bääh lo áshiyveNû al-räd'fô vacherev ächiyw w'shichët rachámäyw waYiţ'rof läad aPô w'ev'rätô sh'märäh netzach

 1:11 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of ´Éđôm אֱדוֹם, 123 and for x5921 four, 702 I will not x3808 turn away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof; because x5921 he did pursue 7291 z8800 his brother 251 with the sword, 2719 and did cast off 7843 z8765 all pity, 7356 and his anger 639 did tear 2963 z8799 perpetually, 5703 and he kept 8104 z8804 his wrath 5678 for ever: 5331

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי אֵשׁ בְּתֵימָן וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנוֹת בָּצְרָה פ

 1:12 But I will send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 upon Têmän תֵּימָן, 8487 which shall devour 398 z8804 the palaces 759 of Boxrà בָּצרָה. 1224

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה פִּשְׁעֵי בְנֵי־עַמּוֹן וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָה לֹא אֲשִׁיבֶנּוּ עַל־בִּקְעָם הָרוֹת הַגִּלְעָד לְמַעַן הַרְחִיב אֶת־גְּבוּלָם

 1:13 Koh ämar y'hwäh al-sh'loshäh Pish'ëy v'nëy-aMôn w'al-ar'Bääh lo áshiyveNû al-Biq'äm härôt haGil'äd l'maan har'chiyv et-G'vûläm

 1:13 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of the children 1121 of `Ammôn עַמּוֹן, 5983 and for x5921 four, 702 I will not x3808 turn away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof; because x5921 they have ripped up 1234 z8800 the women with child 2030 of Gil`äđ גִּלעָד, 1568 that x4616 they might enlarge 7337 z8687 x853 their border: 1366

וְהִצַּתִּי אֵשׁ בְּחוֹמַת רַבָּה וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ בִּתְרוּעָה בְּיוֹם מִלְחָמָה בְּסַעַר בְּיוֹם סוּפָה

 1:14 w'hiTZaTiy ësh B'chômat raBäh w'äkh'läh ar'm'nôteyhä Bit'rûäh B'yôm mil'chämäh B'šaar B'yôm šûfäh

 1:14 But I will kindle 3341 z8689 a fire 784 in the wall 2346 of Rabbà רַבָּה, 7237 and it shall devour 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof, with shouting 8643 in the day 3117 of battle, 4421 with a tempest 5591 in the day 3117 of the whirlwind: 5492

וְהָלַךְ מַלְכָּם בַּגּוֹלָה הוּא וְשָׂרָיו יַחְדָּו אָמַר יְהוָה פ

 1:15 w'hälakh' mal'Käm BaGôläh hû w'säräyw yach'Däw ämar y'hwäh f

 1:15 And their king 4428 shall go 1980 z8804 into captivity, 1473 he x1931 and his princes 8269 together, 3162 saith 559 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה. 3068
