 15:1 ¶
Then sang Mosheh{gr.Moses} and the children of Israel this song to God, and spoke, saying, Let us sing to the Lord, for he is very greatly glorified: horse and rider he has thrown into the sea. |
|
 15:1 ¶
Thenº
sangºº
Mosesº
and the childrenº
of Israelºº
thisº
songº
unto Yahweh,º
and spake,ºº
saying,ºº
I will singºº
unto Yahweh,º
forº
he hath triumphedºº
gloriously:ºº
the horseº
and his riderºº
hath he thrownºº
into the sea.º |
 15:2
He was to me a helper and protector for salvation: this is my God and I will glorify him; my father's God, and I will exalt him. |
|
 15:2
Yahº
[is] my strengthº
and song,º
and he is becomeº
my salvation:º
heº
[is] my El,º
and I will prepare him an habitation;ºº
my father'sº
Elohim,º
and I will exaltºº
him. |
 15:3
The Lord bringing wars to nought, the Lord [is] his name. |
|
 15:3
Yahwehº
[is] a manº
of war:º
Yahwehº
[is] his name.º |
 15:4
He has cast the chariots of Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} and his host into the sea, the chosen mounted captains: they were swallowed up in the Red Sea. |
|
 15:4
Pharaoh'sº
chariotsº
and his hostº
hath he castºº
into the sea:º
his chosenº
captainsº
also are drownedºº
in the Redº
sea.º |
 15:5
He covered them with the sea: they sank to the depth like a stone. |
|
 15:5
The depthsº
have coveredºº
them: they sankºº
into the bottomº
asº
a stone.º |
 15:6
Thy right hand, O God, has been glorified in strength; thy right hand, O God, has broken the enemies. |
|
 15:6
Thy right hand,º
O Yahweh,º
is become gloriousºº
in power:º
thy right hand,º
O Yahweh,º
hath dashed in piecesºº
the enemy.ºº |
 15:7
And in the abundance of thy glory thou hast broken the adversaries to pieces: thou sentest forth thy wrath, it devoured them as stubble. |
|
 15:7
And in the greatnessº
of thine excellencyº
thou hast overthrownºº
them that rose up againstºº
thee: thou sentest forthºº
thy wrath,º
[which] consumedºº
them as stubble.º |
 15:8
And by the breath of thine anger the water parted asunder; the waters were congealed as a wall, the waves were congealed in the midst of the sea. |
|
 15:8
And with the blastº
of thy nostrilsº
the watersº
were gathered together,ºº
the floodsºº
stood uprightºº
asº
an heap,º
[and] the depthsº
were congealedºº
in the heartº
of the sea.º |
 15:9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoils; I will satisfy my soul, I will destroy with my sword, my hand shall have dominion. |
|
 15:9
The enemyºº
said,ºº
I will pursue,ºº
I will overtake,ºº
I will divideºº
the spoil;º
my lustº
shall be satisfiedºº
upon them; I will drawºº
my sword,º
my handº
shall destroyºº
them. |
 15:10
Thou sentest forth thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty water. |
|
 15:10
Thou didst blowºº
with thy wind,º
the seaº
coveredºº
them: they sankºº
as leadº
in the mightyº
waters.º |
 15:11
Who is like to thee among the gods, O Lord? who is like to thee? glorified in holiness, marvellous in glories, doing wonders. |
|
 15:11
Whoº
[is] like unto thee,º
O Yahweh,º
among the elim?º
whoº
[is] like thee,º
gloriousºº
in holiness,º
fearfulºº
[in] praises,º
doingºº
wonders?º |
 15:12
Thou stretchedst forth thy right hand, the earth swallowed them up. |
|
 15:12
Thou stretchedst outºº
thy right hand,º
the earthº
swallowedºº
them. |
 15:13
Thou hast guided in thy righteousness this thy people whom thou hast redeemed, by thy strength thou hast called them into thy holy resting-place. |
|
 15:13
Thou in thy mercyº
hast led forthºº
the peopleº
[which]º
thou hast redeemed:ºº
thou hast guidedºº
[them] in thy strengthº
untoº
thy holyº
habitation.º |
 15:14
The nations heard and were angry, pangs have seized on the dwellers among the Philistines{gr.Phylistines}. |
|
 15:14
The peopleº
shall hear,ºº
[and] be afraid:ºº
sorrowº
shall take holdºº
on the inhabitantsºº
of Palestina.º |
 15:15
Then the princes of Edom, and the chiefs of the Moabites hasted; trembling took hold upon them, all the inhabitants of Canaan{gr.Chanaan} melted away. |
|
 15:15
Thenº
the dukesº
of Edomº
shall be amazed;ºº
the mighty menº
of Moab,º
tremblingº
shall take holdºº
uponº
them; allº
the inhabitantsºº
of Canaanº
shall melt away.ºº |
 15:16
Let trembling and fear fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm, let them become as stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till this thy people pass over, whom thou hast purchased. |
|
 15:16
Fearº
and dreadº
shall fallºº
uponº
them; by the greatnessº
of thine armº
they shall be [as] stillºº
as a stone;º
tillº
thy peopleº
pass over,ºº
O Yahweh,º
tillº
the peopleº
pass over,ºº
[which]º
thou hast purchased.ºº |
 15:17
Bring them in and plant them in the mountain of their inheritance, in thy prepared habitation, which thou, O Lord, hast prepared; the sanctuary, O Lord, which thine hands have made ready. |
|
 15:17
Thou shalt bringºº
them in,º
and plantºº
them in the mountainº
of thine inheritance,º
[in] the place,º
O Yahweh,º
[which] thou hast madeºº
for thee to dwell in,ºº
[in] the Sanctuary,º
O Yahweh,º
[which] thy handsº
have established.ºº |
 15:18
The Lord reigns for ever and ever and ever. |
|
 15:18
Yahwehº
shall reignºº
for everº
and ever.º |
 15:19
For the horse of Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} went in with the chariots and horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought upon them the water of the sea, but the children of Israel walked through dry land in the midst of the sea. |
|
 15:19
Forº
the horseº
of Pharaohº
went inºº
with his chariotsº
and with his horsemenº
into the sea,º
and Yahwehº
brought againººº
the watersº
of the seaº
uponº
them; but the childrenº
of Israelº
wentºº
on dryº
[land] in the midstº
of the sea.º |
 15:20 ¶
And Miriam{gr.Mariam} the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, having taken a timbrel in her hand-- then there went forth all the women after her with timbrels and dances. |
|
 15:20 ¶
And Miriamº
the prophetess,º
the sisterº
of Aaron,º
tookººº
a timbrelº
in her hand;º
and allº
the womenº
went outºº
afterº
her with timbrelsº
and with dances.º |
 15:21
And Miriam{gr.Mariam} led them, saying, Let us sing to the Lord, for he has been very greatly glorified: the horse and rider has he cast into the sea. |
|
 15:21
And Miriamº
answeredºº
them, Singºº
ye to Yahweh,º
forº
he hath triumphedºº
gloriously;ºº
the horseº
and his riderºº
hath he thrownºº
into the sea.º |
 15:22
So Mosheh{gr.Moses} brought up the children of Israel from the Red Sea, and brought them into the wilderness of Shur{gr.Sur}; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water to drink. |
|
 15:22
So Mosesº
broughtººº
Israelº
from the Redº
sea,ººº
and they went outºº
intoº
the wildernessº
of Shur;º
and they wentººº
threeº
daysº
in the wilderness,º
and foundºº
noº
water.º |
 15:23 ¶
And they came to Merrha, and could not drink of Merrha, for it was bitter; therefore he named the name of that place, Bitterness. |
|
 15:23 ¶
And when they cameºº
to Marah,º
they couldºº
notº
drinkºº
of the watersº
of Marah,ºº
forº
theyº
[were] bitter:º
thereforeºº
the nameº
of it was calledºº
Marah.º |
 15:24
And the people murmured against Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, What shall we drink? |
|
 15:24
And the peopleº
murmuredºº
againstº
Moses,º
saying,ºº
Whatº
shall we drink?ºº |
 15:25
And Mosheh{gr.Moses} cried to the Lord, and the Lord shewed him a tree, and he cast it into the water, and the water was sweetened: there he established to him ordinances and judgments, and there he proved him, |
|
 15:25
And he criedºº
untoº
Yahweh;º
and Yahwehº
shewedºº
him a tree,º
[which] when he had castºº
intoº
the waters,º
the watersº
were made sweet:ºº
thereº
he madeºº
for them a statuteº
and an ordinance,º
and thereº
he provedºº
them, |
 15:26
and said, If thou wilt indeed hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and do things pleasing before him, and wilt hearken to his commands, and keep all his ordinances, no disease which I have brought upon the Mizraimites{gr.Egyptians} will I bring upon thee, for I am the Lord thy God that heals thee. |
|
 15:26
And said,ºº
Ifº
thou wilt diligentlyºº
hearkenºº
to the voiceº
of Yahwehº
thy Elohim,º
and wilt doºº
that which is rightº
in his sight,º
and wilt give earºº
to his commandments,º
and keepºº
allº
his statutes,º
I will putºº
noneºº
of these diseasesº
uponº
thee, whichº
I have broughtºº
upon the Egyptians:º
forº
Iº
[am] Yahwehº
Ropheka.ºº |
 15:27 ¶
And they came to Elim{gr.Aelim}, and there were there twelve fountains of water, and seventy stems of palm-trees; and they encamped there by the waters. |
|
 15:27 ¶
And they cameºº
to Elim,º
whereº
[were] twelveºº
wellsº
of water,º
and threescore and tenº
palm trees:º
and they encampedºº
thereº
byº
the waters.º |
