 2:1 ¶ These [are] the names of the sons of Israel;

 2:1 ¶ These° [are] the sons° of Israel;° Reuben,° Simeon,° Levi,° and Judah,° Issachar,° and Zebulun,°

 2:2 Reuben{gr.Ruben}, Simeon{gr.Symeon}, Levi, Judah{gr.Juda}, Issachar, Zebulun{gr.Zabulon}, Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali{gr.Nephthali}, Gad, Asher{gr.Aser}.

 2:2 Dan,° Joseph,° and Benjamin,° Naphtali,° Gad,° and Asher.°

 2:3 ¶ The sons of Judah{gr.Juda}; Er, Onon{gr.Aunan}, Shelah{gr.Selom}. [These] three were born to him of the daughter of Sava the Canaanitish{gr.Chananitish} woman: and Er, the first-born of Judah{gr.Juda}, [was] wicked before the Lord, and he slew him.

 2:3 ¶ The sons° of Judah;° Er,° and Onan,° and Shelah:° [which] three° were born°° unto him of the daughter°° of Shua°°°° the Canaanitess.° And Er,° the firstborn° of Judah,° was° evil° in the sight° of Yahweh;° and he slew°° him.

 2:4 And Tamar{gr.Thamar} his daughter-in-law bore to him Pharez{gr.Phares}, and Zerah{gr.Zara}: all the sons of Judah{gr.Juda} [were] five.

 2:4 And Tamar° his daughter in law° bare°° him° Pharez° and Zerah.° All° the sons° of Judah° [were] five.°

 2:5 The sons of Pharez{gr.Phares}, Hezron{gr.Esrom}, and Jemuel.

 2:5 The sons° of Pharez;° Hezron,° and Hamul.°

 2:6 And the sons of Zerah{gr.Zara}, Zimri{gr.Zambri}, and Aetham, and Aemuan, and Calchal, and Darad, [in] all five.

 2:6 And the sons° of Zerah;° Zimri,° and Ethan,° and Heman,° and Calcol,° and Dara:° five° of them in all.°

 2:7 And the sons of Carmi{gr.Charmi}; Achan{gr.Achar} the troubler of Israel, who was disobedient in the accursed thing.

 2:7 And the sons° of Carmi;° Achar,° the troubler°° of Israel,° who° transgressed°° in the thing accursed.°

 2:8 And the sons of Aetham; Azariah{gr.Azarias},

 2:8 And the sons° of Ethan;° Azariah.°

 2:9 and the sons of Hezron{gr.Esrom} who were born to him; Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel}, and Syria{gr.Aram}, and Caleb{gr.Chaleb}.

 2:9 The sons° also of Hezron,° that° were born°° unto him;° Jerahmeel,° and Ram,° and Chelubai.°

 2:10 And Syria{gr.Aram} begot Amminadab{gr.Aminadab}, and Amminadab{gr.Aminadab} begot Nahshon{gr.Naasson}, chief of the house of Judah{gr.Juda}.

 2:10 And Ram° begat°°° Amminadab;° and Amminadab° begat°°° Nahshon,° prince° of the children° of Judah;°

 2:11 And Nahshon{gr.Naasson} begot Salmon, and Salmon begot Boaz{gr.Booz},

 2:11 And Nahshon° begat°°° Salma,° and Salma° begat°°° Boaz,°

 2:12 and Boaz{gr.Booz} begot Obed, and Obed begot Jesse{gr.Jessae}.

 2:12 And Boaz° begat°°° Obed,° and Obed° begat°°° Jesse,°

 2:13 ¶ And Jesse{gr.Jessae} begot his first-born Aholiab{gr.Eliab}, Amminadab{gr.Aminadab} [was] the second, Samaa the third,

 2:13 ¶ And Jesse° begat°°° his firstborn°° Eliab,° and Abinadab° the second,° and Shimma° the third,°

 2:14 Nethaneel{gr.Nathanael} the fourth, Zabdai the fifth,

 2:17 And Abigail{gr.Abigaia} bore Amessab: and the father of Amessab [was] Jethro{gr.Jothor} the Ishmaelite{gr.Ismaelite}.

 2:17 And Abigail° bare°°° Amasa:° and the father° of Amasa° [was] Jether° the Ishmeelite.°

 2:18 ¶ And Caleb{gr.Chaleb} the son of Hezron{gr.Esrom} took Gazuba to wife, and Jerioth: and these [were] her sons; Jasar, and Subab, and Ardon.

 2:18 ¶ And Caleb° the son° of Hezron° begat°° [children] of° Azubah° [his] wife,° and of° Jerioth:° her sons° [are] these;° Jesher,° and Shobab,° and Ardon.°

 2:19 And Gazuba died; and Caleb{gr.Chaleb} took to himself Ephrath, and she bore to him Or.

 2:19 And when Azubah° was dead,°° Caleb° took°° unto him° Ephrath,° which bare°° him° Hur.°

 2:20 And Or begot Uri, and Uri begot Bezaleel{gr.Beseleel}.

 2:20 And Hur° begat°°° Uri,° and Uri° begat°°° Bezaleel.°

 2:21 ¶ And after this Hezron{gr.Esron} went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead{gr.Galaad}, and he took her when he was sixty-five years old; and she bore him Seruch.

 2:21 ¶ And afterward° Hezron° went in°° to° the daughter° of Machir° the father° of Gilead,° whom he° married°° when he° [was] threescore° years° old;° and she bare°° him° Segub.°

 2:22 And Seruch begot Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in Gilead{gr.Galaad}.

 2:22 And Segub° begat°°° Jair,° who had° three° and twenty° cities° in the land° of Gilead.°

 2:23 And he took Geshur{gr.Gedsur} and Syria{gr.Aram}, the towns of Jair from them; [with] Canath and its towns, sixty cities. All these [belonged to] the sons of Machir the father of Gilead{gr.Galaad}.

 2:23 And he took°° Geshur,° and Aram,° with° the towns° of Jair,° from°° them, with° Kenath,° and the towns° thereof, [even] threescore° cities.° All° these° [belonged to] the sons° of Machir° the father° of Gilead.°

 2:24 And after the death of Hezron{gr.Esron}, Caleb{gr.Chaleb} came to Ephrath{gr.Ephratha}; and the wife of Hezron{gr.Esron} [was] Abia; and she bore him Ascho the father of Tekoah{gr.Thecoe}.

 2:24 And after° that° Hezron° was dead° in Calebephratah,° then Abiah° Hezron's° wife° bare°° him° Ashur° the father° of Tekoa.°

 2:25 ¶ And the sons of Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel} the first-born of Hezron{gr.Esron} [were], the first-born Ram, and Banaa, and Syria{gr.Aram}, and Asan his brother.

 2:25 ¶ And the sons° of Jerahmeel° the firstborn° of Hezron° were,° Ram° the firstborn,° and Bunah,° and Oren,° and Ozem,° [and] Ahijah.°

 2:26 And Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel} had another wife, and her name [was] Atara: she is the mother of Ozom.

 2:26 Jerahmeel° had° also another° wife,° whose name° [was] Atarah;° she° [was] the mother° of Onam.°

 2:27 And the sons of Ram the first-born of Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel} were Maas, and Jamin, and Acor.

 2:27 And the sons° of Ram° the firstborn° of Jerahmeel° were,° Maaz,° and Jamin,° and Eker.°

 2:28 And the sons of Ozom were, Shammai{gr.Samai}, and Jadae: and the sons of Shammai{gr.Samai}; Nadab, and Abisur.

 2:28 And the sons° of Onam° were,° Shammai,° and Jada.° And the sons° of Shammai;° Nadab,° and Abishur.°

 2:29 And the name of the wife of Abisur [was] Abichaia, and she bore him Achabar, and Moel.

 2:29 And the name° of the wife° of Abishur° [was] Abihail,° and she bare°° him° Ahban,° and Molid.°

 2:30 And the sons of Nadab; Salad and Apphain; and Salad died without children.

 2:30 And the sons° of Nadab;° Seled,° and Appaim:° but Seled° died°° without° children.°

 2:31 And the sons of Apphain, Isemiel; and the sons of Isemiel, Sosan; and the sons of Sosan, Dadai.

 2:31 And the sons° of Appaim;° Ishi.° And the sons° of Ishi;° Sheshan.° And the children° of Sheshan;° Ahlai.°

 2:32 And the sons of Dadai, Achisamas, Jether, Jonathan: and Jether died childless.

 2:32 And the sons° of Jada° the brother° of Shammai;° Jether,° and Jonathan:°° and Jether° died°° without° children.°

 2:33 And the sons of Jonathan; Phaleth, and Hozam. These were the sons of Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel}.

 2:33 And the sons° of Jonathan;°° Peleth,° and Zaza.° These° were° the sons° of Jerahmeel.°

 2:34 ¶ And Sosan had no sons, but daughters. And Sosan had a Mizraimite{gr.Egyptian} servant, and his name [was] Jochel.

 2:34 ¶ Now Sheshan° had° no° sons,° but°° daughters.° And Sheshan° had a servant,° an Egyptian,° whose name° [was] Jarha.°

 2:35 And Sosan gave his daughter to Jochel his servant to wife; and she bore him Ittai{gr.Ethi}.

 2:35 And Sheshan° gave°°° his daughter° to Jarha° his servant° to wife;° and she bare°° him° Attai.°

 2:36 And Ittai{gr.Ethi} begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabed,

 2:36 And Attai° begat°°° Nathan,° and Nathan° begat°°° Zabad,°

 2:37 and Zabed begot Aphamel, and Aphamel begot Obed.

 2:37 And Zabad° begat°°° Ephlal,° and Ephlal° begat°°° Obed,°

 2:38 And Obed begot Jehu{gr.Jeu}, and Jehu{gr.Jeu} begot Azariah{gr.Azarias}.

 2:42 ¶ And the sons of Caleb{gr.Chaleb} the brother of Jerahmeel{gr.Jerameel} [were], Marisa his first-born, he [is] the father of Ziph:-- and the sons of Marisa the father of Hebron{gr.Chebron}.

 2:42 ¶ Now the sons° of Caleb° the brother° of Jerahmeel° [were], Mesha° his firstborn,° which° was the father° of Ziph;° and the sons° of Mareshah° the father° of Hebron.°

 2:43 And the sons of Hebron{gr.Chebron}; Korah{gr.Core}, and Thapphus, and Recom, and Samaa.

 2:43 And the sons° of Hebron;° Korah,° and Tappuah,° and Rekem,° and Shema.°

 2:44 And Samaa begot Raem the father of Jeclan: and Jeclan begot Shammai{gr.Samai}.

 2:44 And Shema° begat°°° Raham,° the father° of Jorkoam:° and Rekem° begat°°° Shammai.°

 2:45 And his son [was] Maon: and Maon [is] the father of Baethsur.

 2:45 And the son° of Shammai° [was] Maon:° and Maon° [was] the father° of Bethzur.°

 2:46 And Gaepha the concubine of Caleb{gr.Chaleb} bore Syria{gr.Aram}, and Mosa, and Gezue.

 2:46 And Ephah,° Caleb's° concubine,° bare°°° Haran,° and Moza,° and Gazez:° and Haran° begat°°° Gazez.°

 2:47 And the sons of Addai [were] Ragem, and Jotham{gr.Joatham}, and Zuar{gr.Sogar}, and Phalec, and Gaepha, and Sagae.

 2:47 And the sons° of Jahdai;° Regem,° and Jotham,° and Geshan,° and Pelet,° and Ephah,° and Shaaph.°

 2:48 And Caleb's{gr.Chaleb} concubine Mocha bore Saber, and Tharam.

 2:48 Maachah,° Caleb's° concubine,° bare°° Sheber,° and Tirhanah.°

 2:49 She bore also Sagae the father of Madmena, and Sau the father of Machabena, and the father of Ebal{gr.Gaebal}: and the daughter of Caleb{gr.Chaleb} [was] Achsah{gr.Ascha}.

 2:49 She bare°° also Shaaph° the father° of Madmannah,°° Sheva° the father° of Machbenah,° and the father° of Gibea:° and the daughter° of Caleb° [was] Achsah.°

 2:50 ¶ These were the sons of Caleb{gr.Chaleb}: the sons of Or the first-born of Ephrath{gr.Ephratha}; Shobal{gr.Sobal} the father of Kirjathjearim{gr.Cariathiarim},

 2:50 ¶ These° were° the sons° of Caleb° the son° of Hur,° the firstborn° of Ephratah;° Shobal° the father° of Kirjathjearim,°

 2:51 Salomon the father of Baetha, Lammon the father of Baethalaem, and Arim the father of Bethgedor.

 2:51 Salma° the father° of Bethlehem,° Hareph° the father° of Bethgader.°

 2:52 And the sons of Shobal{gr.Sobal} the father of Kirjathjearim{gr.Cariathiarim} were Araa, and Aesi, and Ammanith,

 2:52 And Shobal° the father° of Kirjathjearim° had° sons;° Haroeh,° [and] half° of the Manahethites.°°

 2:53 and Umasphae, cities of Jair; Aethalim, and Miphithim, and Hesamathim, and Hemasaraim; from these went forth the Sarathaeans, and the sons of Esthaam.

 2:53 And the families° of Kirjathjearim;° the Ithrites,° and the Puhites,° and the Shumathites,° and the Mishraites;° of them°° came°° the Zareathites,° and the Eshtaulites.°

 2:54 The sons of Salomon; Baethalaem, the Netophathite, Ataroth of the house of Joab, and half of the family of Malathi, Esari.

 2:54 The sons° of Salma;° Bethlehem,° and the Netophathites,° Ataroth,° the house of Joab,° and half° of the Manahethites,° the Zorites.°

 2:55 The families of the scribes dwelling in Jabesh{gr.Jabis}; Thargathiim, and Samathiim, and Sochathim, these [are] the Kinaeans that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

 2:55 And the families° of the scribes°° which dwelt°°°° at Jabez;° the Tirathites,° the Shimeathites,° [and] Suchathites.° These° [are] the Kenites° that came°° of Hemath,°°° the father° of the house° of Rechab.°
