 9:1 ¶
Then Jehovah said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. |
|
 9:1 ¶
Then the LORDº
saidºº
untoº
Moses,º
Goºº
inº
untoº
Pharaoh,º
and tellººº
him, Thusº
saithºº
the LORDº
Godº
of the Hebrews,º
Letº
my peopleº
go,ºº
that they may serveºº
me. |
 9:2
For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, |
|
 9:2
Forº
ifº
thouº
refuseº
to let [them] go,ºº
and wilt holdºº
them still,º |
 9:3
behold, the hand of Jehovah is upon thy cattle which are in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks: [there shall be] a very grievous murrain. |
|
 9:3
Behold,º
the handº
of the LORDº
isºº
upon thy cattleº
whichº
[is] in the field,º
upon the horses,º
upon the asses,º
upon the camels,º
upon the oxen,º
and upon the sheep:º
[there shall be] a veryº
grievousº
murrain.º |
 9:4
And Jehovah shall make a distinction between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that belongeth to the children of Israel. |
|
 9:4
And the LORDº
shall severºº
betweenº
the cattleº
of Israelº
and the cattleº
of Egypt:º
and there shall nothingºº
dieºº
of allºº
[that is] the children'sº
of Israel.º |
 9:5
And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, To-morrow Jehovah shall do this thing in the land. |
|
 9:5
And the LORDº
appointedºº
a set time,º
saying,ºº
To morrowº
the LORDº
shall doºº
thisº
thingº
in the land.º |
 9:6
And Jehovah did that thing on the morrow; and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one. |
|
 9:6
And the LORDº
didººº
thatº
thingº
on the morrow,ºº
and allº
the cattleº
of Egyptº
died:ºº
but of the cattleºº
of the childrenº
of Israelº
diedºº
notº
one.º |
 9:7
And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he did not let the people go. |
|
 9:7
And Pharaohº
sent,ºº
and, behold,º
there was notº
oneº
of the cattleºº
of the Israelitesº
dead.ºº
And the heartº
of Pharaohº
was hardened,ºº
and he did notº
letº
the peopleº
go.ºº |
 9:8 ¶
And Jehovah said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh. |
|
 9:8 ¶
And the LORDº
saidºº
untoº
Mosesº
and untoº
Aaron,º
Takeºº
to you handfulsºº
of ashesº
of the furnace,º
and let Mosesº
sprinkleºº
it toward the heavenº
in the sightº
of Pharaoh.º |
 9:9
And it shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt. |
|
 9:9
And it shall becomeº
small dustº
inº
allº
the landº
of Egypt,º
and shall beº
a boilº
breaking forthºº
[with] blainsº
uponº
man,º
and uponº
beast,º
throughout allº
the landº
of Egypt.º |
 9:10
And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast. |
|
 9:10
And they tookººº
ashesº
of the furnace,º
and stoodºº
beforeº
Pharaoh;º
and Mosesº
sprinkledºº
it up toward heaven;º
and it becameº
a boilº
breaking forthºº
[with] blainsº
upon man,º
and upon beast.º |
 9:11
And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. |
|
 9:11
And the magiciansº
couldºº
notº
standºº
beforeº
Mosesº
becauseº
ofºº
the boils;º
forº
the boilº
wasº
upon the magicians,º
and upon allº
the Egyptians.º |
 9:12
And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them, as Jehovah had spoken unto Moses. |
|
 9:12
And the LORDº
hardenedººº
the heartº
of Pharaoh,º
and he hearkenedºº
notº
untoº
them; asº
the LORDº
had spokenºº
untoº
Moses.º |
 9:13 ¶
And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. |
|
 9:13 ¶
And the LORDº
saidºº
untoº
Moses,º
Rise up earlyºº
in the morning,º
and standºº
beforeº
Pharaoh,º
and sayºº
untoº
him, Thusº
saithºº
the LORDº
Godº
of the Hebrews,º
Letº
my peopleº
go,ºº
that they may serveºº
me. |
 9:14
For I will this time send all my plagues upon thy heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. |
|
 9:14
Forº
Iº
will at thisº
timeº
sendººº
allº
my plaguesº
uponº
thine heart,º
and upon thy servants,º
and upon thy people;º
thatº
thou mayest knowºº
thatº
[there is] noneº
like meº
in allº
the earth.º |
 9:15
For now I had put forth my hand, and smitten thee and thy people with pestilence, and thou hadst been cut off from the earth: |
|
 9:15
Forº
nowº
I will stretch outººº
my hand,º
that I may smiteºº
thee and thy peopleº
with pestilence;º
and thou shalt be cut offºº
fromº
the earth.º |
 9:16
but in very deed for this cause have I made thee to stand, to show thee my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. |
|
 9:16
And in veryº
deedºº
forº
thisº
[cause] have I raised thee up,ºº
forº
to shewºº
[in] theeº
my power;º
and thatº
my nameº
may be declaredºº
throughout allº
the earth.º |
 9:17
As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go? |
|
 9:17
As yetº
exaltestºº
thou thyselfº
against my people,º
that thou wilt notº
let them go?ºº |
 9:18
Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now. |
|
 9:18
Behold,º
to morrowº
about this timeº
I will cause it to rainºº
a veryº
grievousº
hail,º
suchº
asº
hath notº
beenºº
in Egyptº
sinceºº
the foundationººº
thereof even untilº
now.º |
 9:19
Now therefore send, hasten in thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; [for] every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. |
|
 9:19
Sendºº
therefore now,º
[and] gatherººº
thy cattle,º
and allº
thatº
thou hast in the field;º
[for upon] everyº
manº
and beastº
whichº
shall be foundºº
in the field,º
and shall notº
be broughtºº
home,º
the hailº
shall come downºº
uponº
them, and they shall die.ºº |
 9:20
He that feared the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses. |
|
 9:20
He that fearedººº
the wordº
of the LORDº
among the servantsºº
of Pharaohº
madeº
his servantsº
and his cattleº
fleeºº
intoº
the houses:º |
 9:21
And he that regarded not the word of Jehovah left his servants and his cattle in the field. |
|
 9:21
And he thatº
regardedººº
notº
the wordº
of the LORDº
leftººº
his servantsº
and his cattleº
in the field.º |
 9:22 ¶
And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. |
|
 9:22 ¶
And the LORDº
saidºº
untoº
Moses,º
Stretch forthººº
thine handº
towardº
heaven,º
that there may beº
hailº
in allº
the landº
of Egypt,º
uponº
man,º
and uponº
beast,º
and uponº
everyº
herbº
of the field,º
throughout the landº
of Egypt.º |
 9:23
And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and Jehovah sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down unto the earth; and Jehovah rained hail upon the land of Egypt. |
|
 9:23
And Mosesº
stretched forthººº
his rodº
towardº
heaven:º
and the LORDº
sentºº
thunderº
and hail,º
and the fireº
ran alongºº
upon the ground;º
and the LORDº
rainedºº
hailº
uponº
the landº
of Egypt.º |
 9:24
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. |
|
 9:24
So there wasº
hail,º
and fireººº
mingledºº
withº
the hail,º
veryº
grievous,º
such asº
there wasº
noneº
like itº
in allº
the landº
of Egyptº
sinceºº
it becameº
a nation.º |
 9:25
And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. |
|
 9:25
And the hailº
smoteºº
throughout allº
the landº
of Egyptºº
allº
thatº
[was] in the field,º
both manºº
and beast;º
and the hailº
smoteºº
everyº
herbº
of the field,º
and brakeºº
everyº
treeº
of the field.º |
 9:26
Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. |
|
 9:26
Onlyº
in the landº
of Goshen,º
whereºº
the childrenº
of Israelº
[were], wasº
there noº
hail.º |
 9:27 ¶
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: Jehovah is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. |
|
 9:27 ¶
And Pharaohº
sent,ºº
and calledºº
for Mosesº
and Aaron,º
and saidºº
untoº
them, I have sinnedºº
this time:º
the LORDº
[is] righteous,º
and Iº
and my peopleº
[are] wicked.º |
 9:28
Entreat Jehovah; for there hath been enough of [these] mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. |
|
 9:28
Intreatººº
the LORDº
(for [it is] enough)º
that there be noºº
[more] mightyº
thunderingsº
and hail;º
and I will let you go,ºº
and ye shall stayºº
noº
longer.ºº |
 9:29
And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto Jehovah; the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is Jehovah's. |
|
 9:29
And Mosesº
saidºº
untoº
him, As soon as I am gone outºº
ofº
the city,º
I will spread abroadººº
my handsº
untoº
the LORD;º
[and] the thunderº
shall cease,ºº
neitherº
shall there beº
any moreº
hail;º
thatº
thou mayest knowºº
how thatº
the earthº
[is] the LORD'S.º |
 9:30
But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear Jehovah God. |
|
 9:30
But as for theeº
and thy servants,º
I knowºº
thatº
ye will not yetº
fearºººº
the LORDº
God.º |
 9:31
And the flax and the barley were smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom. |
|
 9:31
And the flaxº
and the barleyº
was smitten:ºº
forº
the barleyº
[was] in the ear,º
and the flaxº
[was] bolled.º |
 9:32
But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten: for they were not grown up. |
|
 9:32
But the wheatº
and the rieº
were notº
smitten:ºº
forº
theyº
[were] not grown up.º |
 9:33
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto Jehovah: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth. |
|
 9:33
And Mosesº
went outºº
ofº
the cityº
fromºº
Pharaoh,º
and spread abroadºº
his handsº
untoº
the LORD:º
and the thundersº
and hailº
ceased,ºº
and the rainº
was notº
pouredºº
upon the earth.º |
 9:34
And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. |
|
 9:34
And when Pharaohº
sawºº
thatº
the rainº
and the hailº
and the thundersº
were ceased,ºº
he sinnedºº
yet more,ºº
and hardenedºº
his heart,º
heº
and his servants.º |
 9:35
And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses. |
|
 9:35
And the heartº
of Pharaohº
was hardened,ºº
neitherº
would he letº
the childrenº
of Israelº
go;ºº
asº
the LORDº
had spokenºº
byº
Moses.º |
