Joshua 18

1 The Tabernacle is set up at Shiloh. 2 The remainder of the land is described, and divided into seven parts. 10 Joshua divideth it by lot. 11 The lot of the border of Benjamin. 21 Their cities.

 18:1 Then the whole 3605 congregation 5712 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 assembled 6950 themselves at Shiloh 7887, and set 7931 up the tent 168 of meeting 4150 there 8033; and the land 776 was subdued 3533 before 6440 them.

 18:2 ¶ There remained 3498 among the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 seven 7651 tribes 7626 who 834 had not divided 2505a their inheritance 5159.

 18:3 So Joshua 3091 said 559 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, “How 575 long 5704 will you put 7503 off 7503 entering 935 to take 3423 possession 3423 of the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068, the God 430 of your fathers 1, has given 5414 you?

 18:4 “Provide 3051 for yourselves three 7969 men 376 from each tribe 7626 that I may send 7971 them, and that they may arise 6965 and walk 1980 through the land 776 and write 3789 a description of it according 6310 to their inheritance 5159; then they shall return 935 to me.

 18:5 “They shall divide 2505a it into seven 7651 portions 2506; Judah 3063 shall stay 5975 in its territory 1366 on the south 5045, and the house 1004 of Joseph 3130 shall stay 5975 in their territory 1366 on the north 6828.

 18:6 “You shall describe 3789 the land 776 in seven 7651 divisions 2506, and bring 935 [the description] here 2008 to me. I will cast 3384 lots 1486 for you here 6311 before 6440 the LORD 3068 our God 430.

 18:7 “For the Levites 3881 have 369 no 369 portion 2506 among 7130 you, because 3588 the priesthood 3550 of the LORD 3068 is their inheritance 5159. Gad 1410 and Reuben 7205 and the half-tribe 2677 7626 of Manasseh 4519 also have received 3947 their inheritance 5159 eastward 4217 beyond 4480 5676 the Jordan 3383, which 834 Moses 4872 the servant 5650 of the LORD 3068 gave 5414 them.”

 18:8 ¶ Then the men 376 arose 6965 and went 1980, and Joshua 3091 commanded 6680 those who went 1980 to describe 3789 the land 776, saying 559, “Go 1980 and walk 1980 through the land 776 and describe 3789 it, and return 7725 to me; then I will cast 7993 lots 1486 for you here 6311 before 6440 the LORD 3068 in Shiloh 7887.”

 18:9 So the men 376 went 1980 and passed 5674a through the land 776, and described 3789 it by cities 5892b in seven 7651 divisions 2506 in a book 5612; and they came 935 to Joshua 3091 to the camp 4264 at Shiloh 7887.

 18:10 And Joshua 3091 cast 7993 lots 1486 for them in Shiloh 7887 before 6440 the LORD 3068, and there 8033 Joshua 3091 divided 2505a the land 776 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 according to their divisions 4256.

 18:11 ¶ Now the lot 1486 of the tribe 4294 of the sons 1121 of Benjamin 1144 came 5927 up according to their families 4940, and the territory 1366 of their lot 1486 lay 3318 between 996 the sons 1121 of Judah 3063 and the sons 1121 of Joseph 3130.

 18:12 Their border 1366 on the north 6828 side 6285 was from the Jordan 3383, then the border 1366 went 5927 up to the side 3802 of Jericho 3405 on the north 6828, and went 5927 up through the hill 2022 country 2022 westward 3220, and it ended 1961 8444 at the wilderness 4057b of Beth-aven 1007b.

 18:13 From there 8033 the border 1366 continued 5674a to Luz 3870, to the side 3802 of Luz 3870 (that is, Bethel 1008) southward 5045; and the border 1366 went 3381 down 3381 to Ataroth-addar 5853, near 5921 the hill 2022 which 834 [lies] on the south 5045 of lower 8481 Beth-horon 1032.

 18:14 The border 1366 extended 8388a [from there] and turned 5437 round 5437 on the west 3220 side 6285 southward 5045, from the hill 2022 which 834 [lies] before 5921 6440 Beth-horon 1032 southward 5045; and it ended 1961 8444 at Kiriath-baal 7154 (that is, Kiriath-jearim 7157), a city 5892b of the sons 1121 of Judah 3063. This 2088 [was] the west 3220 side 6285.

 18:15 Then the south 5045 side 6285 [was] from the edge 7097a of Kiriath-jearim 7157, and the border 1366 went 3318 westward 3220 and went 3318 to the fountain 4599 of the waters 4325 of Nephtoah 5318.

 18:16 The border 1366 went 3381 down 3381 to the edge 7097a of the hill 2022 which 834 is in the valley 1516 of Ben-hinnom 1121 2011, which 834 is in the valley 6010 of Rephaim 7497 northward 6828; and it went 3381 down 3381 to the valley 1516 of Hinnom 2011, to the slope 3802 of the Jebusite 2983 southward 5045, and went 3381 down 3381 to En-rogel 5883.

 18:17 It extended 8388a northward 6828 and went 3318 to En-shemesh 5885 and went 3318 to Geliloth 1553, which 834 is opposite 5227 the ascent 4608 of Adummim 131, and it went 3381 down 3381 to the stone 68 of Bohan 932 the son 1121 of Reuben 7205.

 18:18 It continued 5674a to the side 3802 in front 4136 of the Arabah 6160 northward 6828 and went 3381 down 3381 to the Arabah 6160.

 18:19 The border 1366 continued 5674a to the side 3802 of Beth-hoglah 1031 northward 6828; and the border 1366 ended 1961 8444 at the north 6828 bay 3956 of the Salt 4417 Sea 3220, at the south 5045 end 7097a of the Jordan 3383. This 2088 [was] the south 5045 border 1366.

 18:20 Moreover, the Jordan 3383 was its border 1379 on the east 6924b side 6285. This 2088 [was] the inheritance 5159 of the sons 1121 of Benjamin 1144, according to their families 4940 [and] according to its borders 1367 all 5439 around 5439.

 18:21 ¶ Now the cities 5892b of the tribe 4294 of the sons 1121 of Benjamin 1144 according to their families 4940 were Jericho 3405 and Beth-hoglah 1031 and Emek-keziz 6010 7104,

 18:22 and Beth-arabah 1026 and Zemaraim 6787 and Bethel 1008,

 18:23 and Avvim 5761 and Parah 6511 and Ophrah 6084,

 18:24 and Chephar-ammoni 3726 and Ophni 6078 and Geba 1387; twelve 8147 6240 cities 5892b with their villages 2691b.

 18:25 Gibeon 1391 and Ramah 7414 and Beeroth 881,

 18:26 and Mizpeh 4708 and Chephirah 3716a and Mozah 4681,

 18:27 and Rekem 7552 and Irpeel 3416 and Taralah 8634,

 18:28 and Zelah 6762, Haeleph 507 and the Jebusite 2983 (that is, Jerusalem 3389), Gibeah 1390, Kiriath 7157; fourteen 702 6240 cities 5892b with their villages 2691b. This 2088 is the inheritance 5159 of the sons 1121 of Benjamin 1144 according to their families 4940.
