 5:1 ¶ Now it came to pass x1961 on the third 7992 day, 3117 that ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 put on 3847 z8799 [her] royal 4438 [apparel], and stood 5975 z8799 in the inner 6442 court 2691 of the king's 4428 house, 1004 over against 5227 the king's 4428 house: 1004 and the king 4428 sat 3427 z8802 upon x5921 his royal 4438 throne 3678 in the royal 4438 house, 1004 over against 5227 the gate 6607 of the house. 1004

וַיְהִי כִרְאוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה עֹמֶדֶת בֶּחָצֵר נָשְׂאָה חֵן בְּעֵינָיו וַיּוֹשֶׁט הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר אֶת־שַׁרְבִיט הַזָּהָב אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדוֹ וַתִּקְרַב אֶסְתֵּר וַתִּגַּע בְּרֹאשׁ הַשַּׁרְבִיט ס

 5:2 way'hiy khir'ôt haMelekh' et-eš'Tër haMal'Käh omedet Bechätzër näs'äh chën B'ëynäyw waYôsheţ haMelekh' l'eš'Tër et-shar'viyţ haZähäv ásher B'yädô waTiq'rav eš'Tër waTiGa B'rosh haSHar'viyţ š

 5:2 And it was x1961 so, when the king 4428 saw 7200 z8800 x853 ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 the queen 4436 standing 5975 z8802 in the court, 2691 [that] she obtained 5375 z8804 favour 2580 in his sight: 5869 and the king 4428 held out 3447 z8686 to ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 x853 the golden 2091 sceptre 8275 that x834 [was] in his hand. 3027 So ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 drew near, 7126 z8799 and touched 5060 z8799 the top 7218 of the sceptre. 8275

וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ הַמֶּלֶךְ מַה־לָּךְ אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עַד־חֲצִי הַמַּלְכוּת וְיִנָּתֵן לָךְ

 5:3 waYomer läH haMelekh' mah-Läkh' eš'Tër haMal'Käh ûmah-BaQäshätëkh' ad-chátziy haMal'khût w'yiNätën läkh'

 5:3 Then said 559 z8799 the king 4428 unto her, What x4100 wilt thou, queen 4436 ´Estër אֶסתֵּר? 635 and what x4100 [is] thy request? 1246 it shall be even given 5414 z8735 thee to x5704 the half 2677 of the kingdom. 4438

וַתֹּאמֶר אֶסְתֵּר אִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טוֹב יָבוֹא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן הַיּוֹם אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂיתִי לוֹ

 5:4 waTomer eš'Tër im-al-haMelekh' ţôv yävô haMelekh' w'hämän haYôm el-haMish'Teh ásher-äsiytiy lô

 5:4 And ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 answered, 559 z8799 If x518 [it seem] good 2895 z8804 unto x5921 the king, 4428 let the king 4428 and Hämän הָמָן 2001 come 935 z8799 this day 3117 unto x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 I have prepared 6213 z8804 for him.

וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ מַהֲרוּ אֶת־הָמָן לַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת־דְּבַר אֶסְתֵּר וַיָּבֹא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָה אֶסְתֵּר

 5:5 waYomer haMelekh' mahárû et-hämän laásôt et-D'var eš'Tër waYävo haMelekh' w'hämän el-haMish'Teh ásher-äs'täh eš'Tër

 5:5 Then the king 4428 said, 559 z8799 Cause x853 Hämän הָמָן 2001 to make haste, 4116 z8761 that he may do 6213 z8800 x853 as ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 hath said. 1697 So the king 4428 and Hämän הָמָן 2001 came 935 z8799 to x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 had prepared. 6213 z8804

וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר בְּמִשְׁתֵּה הַיַּיִן מַה־שְּׁאֵלָתֵךְ וְיִנָּתֵן לָךְ וּמַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְ עַד־חֲצִי הַמַּלְכוּת וְתֵעָשׂ

 5:6 waYomer haMelekh' l'eš'Tër B'mish'Tëh haYayin mah-SH'ëlätëkh' w'yiNätën läkh' ûmah-BaQäshätëkh' ad-chátziy haMal'khût w'tëäs

 5:6 ¶ And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 unto ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 at the banquet 4960 of wine, 3196 What x4100 [is] thy petition? 7596 and it shall be granted 5414 z8735 thee: and what x4100 [is] thy request? 1246 even to x5704 the half 2677 of the kingdom 4438 it shall be performed. 6213 z8735

וַתַּעַן אֶסְתֵּר וַתֹּאמַר שְׁאֵלָתִי וּבַקָּשָׁתִי

 5:7 waTaan eš'Tër waTomar sh'ëlätiy ûvaQäshätiy

 5:7 Then answered 6030 z8799 ´Estër אֶסתֵּר, 635 and said, 559 z8799 My petition 7596 and my request 1246 [is];

אִם־מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאִם־עַל־הַמֶּלֶךְ טוֹב לָתֵת אֶת־שְׁאֵלָתִי וְלַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת־בַּקָּשָׁתִי יָבוֹא הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהָמָן אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר אֶעֱשֶׂה לָהֶם וּמָחָר אֶעֱשֶׂה כִּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ

 5:8 im-mätzätiy chën B'ëynëy haMelekh' w'im-al-haMelekh' ţôv lätët et-sh'ëlätiy w'laásôt et-BaQäshätiy yävô haMelekh' w'hämän el-haMish'Teh ásher eéseh lähem ûmächär eéseh Kid'var haMelekh'

 5:8 If x518 I have found 4672 z8804 favour 2580 in the sight 5869 of the king, 4428 and if x518 it please 2895 z8804 x5921 the king 4428 to grant 5414 z8800 x853 my petition, 7596 and to perform 6213 z8800 x853 my request, 1246 let the king 4428 and Hämän הָמָן 2001 come 935 z8799 to x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 I shall prepare 6213 z8799 for them, and I will do 6213 z8799 to morrow 4279 as the king 4428 hath said. 1697

וַיֵּצֵא הָמָן בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא שָׂמֵחַ וְטוֹב לֵב וְכִרְאוֹת הָמָן אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ וְלֹא־קָם וְלֹא־זָע מִמֶּנּוּ וַיִּמָּלֵא הָמָן עַל־מָרְדֳּכַי חֵמָה

 5:9 ¶ Then went y3318 z0 Hämän הָמָן y2001 forth 3318 z8799 x2001 that x1931 day 3117 joyful 8056 and with a glad 2896 heart: 3820 but when Hämän הָמָן 2001 saw 7200 z8800 x853 Mordóȼay מָרדֳּכַי 4782 in the king's 4428 gate, 8179 that he stood not up, 6965 z8804 x3808 nor x3808 moved 2111 z8804 for x4480 him, x2001 he 2001 was full 4390 z8735 of indignation 2534 against x5921 Mordóȼay מָרדֳּכַי. 4782

וַיִּתְאַפַּק הָמָן וַיָּבוֹא אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ וַיִּשְׁלַח וַיָּבֵא אֶת־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֶת־זֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתּוֹ

וַיְסַפֵּר לָהֶם הָמָן אֶת־כְּבוֹד עָשְׁרוֹ וְרֹב בָּנָיו וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר גִּדְּלוֹ הַמֶּלֶךְ וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר נִשְּׂאוֹ עַל־הַשָּׂרִים וְעַבְדֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ

 5:11 And Hämän הָמָן 2001 told 5608 z8762 them of x853 the glory 3519 of his riches, 6239 and the multitude 7230 of his children, 1121 and all x3605 [the things] wherein x834 the king 4428 had promoted 1431 z8765 him, and how x834 he had advanced 5375 z8765 him above x5921 the princes 8269 and servants 5650 of the king. 4428

וַיֹּאמֶר הָמָן אַף לֹא־הֵבִיאָה אֶסְתֵּר הַמַּלְכָּה עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂתָה כִּי אִם־אוֹתִי וְגַם־לְמָחָר אֲנִי קָרוּא־לָהּ עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ

 5:12 waYomer hämän af lo-hëviyäh eš'Tër haMal'Käh im-haMelekh' el-haMish'Teh ásher-äsätäh Kiy im-ôtiy w'gam-l'mächär ániy qärû-läH im-haMelekh'

 5:12 Hämän הָמָן 2001 said 559 z8799 moreover, x637 Yea, ´Estër אֶסתֵּר 635 the queen 4436 did let no x3808 man come in 935 z8689 with x5973 the king 4428 unto x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 she had prepared 6213 z8804 but x3588 x518 myself; and to morrow 4279 am I x589 invited 7121 z8803 unto her also x1571 with x5973 the king. 4428

וְכָל־זֶה אֵינֶנּוּ שׁוֶֹה לִי בְּכָל־עֵת אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי רֹאֶה אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי יוֹשֵׁב בְּשַׁעַר הַמֶּלֶךְ

 5:13 w'khäl-zeh ëyneNû shôeh liy B'khäl-ët ásher ániy roeh et-mär'Dókhay haY'hûdiy yôshëv B'shaar haMelekh'

וַתֹּאמֶר לוֹ זֶרֶשׁ אִשְׁתּוֹ וְכָל־אֹהֲבָיו יַעֲשׂוּ־עֵץ גָּבֹהַּ חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה וּבַבֹּקֶר אֱמֹר לַמֶּלֶךְ וְיִתְלוּ אֶת־מָרְדֳּכַי עָלָיו וּבֹא־עִם־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הַמִּשְׁתֶּה שָׂמֵחַ וַיִּיטַב הַדָּבָר לִפְנֵי הָמָן וַיַּעַשׂ הָעֵץ פ

 5:14 waTomer lô zeresh ish'Tô w'khäl-oháväyw yaásû-ëtz GävoHa chámiSHiym aMäh ûvaBoqer émor laMelekh' w'yit'lû et-mär'Dókhay äläyw ûvo-im-haMelekh' el-haMish'Teh sämëªch waYiyţav haDävär lif'nëy hämän waYaas häëtz f

 5:14 ¶ Then said 559 z8799 Zereš זֶרֶשׁ 2238 his wife 802 and all x3605 his friends 157 z8802 unto him, Let a gallows 6086 be made 6213 z8799 of fifty 2572 cubits 520 high, 1364 and to morrow 1242 speak 559 z8798 thou unto the king 4428 that x853 Mordóȼay מָרדֳּכַי 4782 may be hanged 8518 z8799 thereon: x5921 then go 935 z8798 thou in merrily 8056 with x5973 the king 4428 unto x413 the banquet. 4960 And the thing 1697 pleased 3190 6440 z8799 Hämän הָמָן; 2001 and he caused y6213 z0 the gallows 6086 to be made. 6213 z8799
