And an angel°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
came up°°
from°
Gilgäl
גִּלגָּל°
to°
Böȼîm
בֹּכִים,°
and said,°°
I made you to go up°°°
out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°°
and have brought°°
you unto°
the land°
which°
I sware°°
unto your fathers;°
and I said,°°
I will never°°
break°°
my covenant°
with°
you. |

2:1 ¶
And an angel of Yahweh came up from Gilgal to Bokhim, and said, I made you to go up out of Mitzrayim, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. |
|
2:2
And ye°
shall make°°
no°
league°
with the inhabitants°°
of this°
land;°
ye shall throw down°°
their altars:°
but ye have not°
obeyed°°
my voice:°
why°
have ye done°°
this?° |

And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? |
|
2:3
Wherefore I also°
said,°°
I will not°
drive them out°°°
from before°°
you; but they shall be°
[as thorns] in your sides,°
and their
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
shall be°
a snare°
unto you. |
|
2:3
Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be [as thorns] in your sides, and their elohim shall be a snare unto you. |
|
2:4
And it came to pass,°
when the angel°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
spake°°°
these°
words°
unto°
all°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
that the people°
lifted up°°°
their voice,°
and wept.°° |

2:4
And it came to pass, when the angel of Yahweh spake these words unto all the children of Yisrael, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept. |
|
2:5
And they called°°
the name°
of that°
place°
Böȼîm
בֹּכִים:°
and they sacrificed°°
there°
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |
|
2:5
And they called the name of that place Bokhim: and they sacrificed there unto Yahweh. |
|
2:6 ¶
And when
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
had let°
the people°
go,°°
the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
went°°°
every man°
unto his inheritance°
to possess°°°
the land.° |
|
2:6 ¶
And when Yehoshua had let the people go, the children of Yisrael went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land. |
|
2:7
And the people°
served°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
all°
the days°
of
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
and all°
the days°
of the elders°
that°
outlived°°°°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ,°
who°
had seen°°°
all°
the great°
works°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
that°
he did°°
for
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

And the people served Yahweh all the days of Yehoshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Yehoshua, who had seen all the great works of Yahweh, that he did for Yisrael. |
|
2:8
And

יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
the son°
of
Nûn
נוּן,°
the servant°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
died,°°
[being] an hundred°
and ten°
years°
old.° |

And Yehoshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, [being] an hundred and ten years old. |
|
2:9
And they buried°°
him in the border°
of his inheritance°
in
Timnaŧ Çeres
תִּמנַת־חֶרֶס,°
in the mount°
of
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם,°
on the north side°°
of the hill°
Gä`aš
גָּעַשׁ.° |

2:9
And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-Cheres, in the mount of Efrayim, on the north side of the hill Gaash. |
|
2:10
And also°
all°
that°
generation°
were gathered°°
unto°
their fathers:°
and there arose°°
another°
generation°
after°
them, which°
knew°°
not°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
nor yet°°
the works°
which°
he had done°°
for
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.° |

And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not Yahweh, nor yet the works which he had done for Yisrael. |
|
2:11 ¶
And the children°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
did°°°
evil°
in the sight°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and served°°°
Bæ`älîm
בְּעָלִים:° |

2:11 ¶
And the children of Yisrael did evil in the sight of Yahweh, and served Bealim: |

2:12
And they forsook°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of their fathers,°
which brought them out°°°
of the land°°
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
and followed°°°°
other°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
of the
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°°
of the people°
that°
[were] round about°
them, and bowed°°
themselves°
unto them, and provoked°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
to anger.°° |

2:12
And they forsook Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Mitzrayim, and followed other elohim, of the elohim of the people that [were] round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked Yahweh to anger. |
|
2:13
And they forsook°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and served°°
Bä`al
בָּעַל°
and
`Aštärôŧ
עַשׁתָּרוֹת.° |

2:13
And they forsook Yahweh, and served Baal and Ashtaroth. |
|
2:14 ¶
And the anger°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
was hot°°
against
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and he delivered°°
them into the hands°
of spoilers°°
that spoiled°°
them, and he sold°°
them into the hands°
of their enemies°°
round about,°°
so that they could°°
not°
any longer°
stand°°
before°
their enemies.°° |

2:14 ¶
And the anger of Yahweh was hot against Yisrael, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. |
|
2:15
Whithersoever°°
they went out,°°
the hand°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
was°
against them for evil,°
as°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had said,°°
and as°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
had sworn°°
unto them: and they were greatly°
distressed.°° |

2:15
Whithersoever they went out, the hand of Yahweh was against them for evil, as Yahweh had said, and as Yahweh had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed. |
|
2:16 ¶
Nevertheless
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
raised up°°
judges,°°
which delivered°°
them out of the hand°°
of those that spoiled°°
them. |
|
2:16 ¶
Nevertheless Yahweh raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them. |
|
2:17
And yet°
they would not°
hearken°°
unto°
their judges,°°
but°
they went a whoring°°
after°
other°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and bowed°°
themselves°
unto them: they turned°°
quickly°
out of°
the way°
which°
their fathers°
walked°
in,°°
obeying°°
the commandments°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;°
[but] they did°°
not°
so.° |

2:17
And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other elohim, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of Yahweh; [but] they did not so. |
|
2:18
And when°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
raised°°
them up°
judges,°°
then
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
was°
with°
the judge,°°
and delivered°°
them out of the hand°°
of their enemies°°
all°
the days°
of the judge:°°
for°
it repented°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
because°
of their groanings°°
by reason of them°°
that oppressed°°
them and vexed°°
them. |

2:18
And when Yahweh raised them up judges, then Yahweh was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented Yahweh because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. |
|
2:19
And it came to pass,°
when the judge°°
was dead,°°
[that] they returned,°°
and corrupted°°
[themselves] more than their fathers,°°
in following°°°°
other°
´élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
to serve°°
them, and to bow down°°
unto them; they ceased°°
not°
from their own doings,°°
nor from their stubborn°
way.°°° |

2:19
And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, [that] they returned, and corrupted [themselves] more than their fathers, in following other elohim to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. |
|
2:20 ¶
And the anger°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
was hot°°
against
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל;°
and he said,°°
Because°
that°
this°
people°
hath transgressed°°°
my covenant°
which°
I commanded°°°
their fathers,°
and have not°
hearkened°°
unto my voice;° |

2:20 ¶
And the anger of Yahweh was hot against Yisrael; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; |

2:21
I°
also°
will not°
henceforth°°
drive out°°
any°
from before°°
them of°
the nations°
which°
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ°
left°°
when he died:°° |

2:21
I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Yehoshua left when he died: |

2:22
That°
through them I may prove°°°
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
whether they°
will keep°°°
the way°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
to walk°°°
therein, as°
their fathers°
did keep°°
[it], or°
not.° |

2:22
That through them I may prove Yisrael, whether they will keep the way of Yahweh to walk therein, as their fathers did keep [it], or not. |
|
2:23
Therefore
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
left°°°°
those°
nations,°
without°
driving them out°°
hastily;°
neither°
delivered°°
he them into the hand°
of
Yæhôšuå`
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ.° |
|
2:23
Therefore Yahweh left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Yehoshua. |
