 43:1 ¶ And it came to pass, when Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} ceased speaking to the people all the words of the Lord, [for] which the Lord had sent him to them, [even] all these words,

 43:1 ¶ And it came to pass,° [that] when Jeremiah° had made an end°° of speaking°° unto° all° the people°° all° the words° of Yahweh° their Elohim,° for which° Yahweh° their Elohim° had sent°° him to° them, [even]° all° these° words,°

 43:2 that Azariah{gr.Azarias} son of Maaseiah{gr.Maasaeas} spoke, and Johanan{gr.Joanan}, the son of Caree, and all the men who had spoken to Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias}, saying, [It is] false: the Lord has not sent thee to us, saying, Enter not into Mizraim{gr.Egypt} to dwell there:

 43:2 Then spake°° Azariah° the son° of Hoshaiah,° and Johanan° the son° of Kareah,° and all° the proud° men,°° saying°° unto° Jeremiah,° Thou° speakest°° falsely:° Yahweh° our Elohim° hath not° sent°° thee to say,°° Go°° not° into Egypt° to sojourn°° there:°

 43:3 but Baruch the son of Neriah{gr.Nerias} sets thee against us, that thou mayest deliver us into the hands of the Chaldeans, to kill us, and that we should be carried away captives to Babylon.

 43:3 But° Baruch° the son° of Neriah° setteth thee on°°° against us, for° to° deliver°° us into the hand° of the Chaldeans,° that they might put us to death,°°° and carry us away captives°°° into Babylon.°

 43:4 So Johanan{gr.Joanan}, and all the leaders of the host, and all the people, refused to hearken to the voice of the Lord, to dwell in the land of Judah{gr.Juda}.

 43:4 So Johanan° the son° of Kareah,° and all° the captains° of the forces,° and all° the people,° obeyed°° not° the voice° of Yahweh,° to dwell°° in the land° of Judah.°

 43:5 And Johanan{gr.Joanan}, and all the leaders of the host, took all the remnant of Judah{gr.Juda}, who had returned to dwell in the land;

 43:5 But Johanan° the son° of Kareah,° and all° the captains° of the forces,° took°°° all° the remnant° of Judah,° that° were returned°° from all°° nations,° whither°° they had been driven,°° to dwell°° in the land° of Judah;°

 43:6 the mighty men, and the women, and the children that were left, and the daughters of the king, and the souls which Nebuzaradan{gr.Nabuzardan} and left with Gedaliah{gr.Godolias} the son of Ahikam{gr.Achicam} and Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah{gr.Nerias}.

 43:6 [Even]° men,° and women,° and children,° and the king's° daughters,° and every° person° that° Nebuzaradan° the captain° of the guard° had left°°° with° Gedaliah° the son° of Ahikam° the son° of Shaphan,° and Jeremiah° the prophet,° and Baruch° the son° of Neriah.°

 43:7 And they came into Mizraim{gr.Egypt}: for they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord: and they entered into Tahpanhes{gr.Taphnas}.

 43:7 So they came°° into° the land° of Egypt:° for° they obeyed°° not° the voice° of Yahweh:° thus came°° they [even] to° Tahpanhes.°

 43:8 ¶ And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias} in Tahpanhes{gr.Taphnas}, saying,

 43:8 ¶ Then came° the word° of Yahweh° unto° Jeremiah° in Tahpanhes,° saying,°°

 43:9 Take thee great stones, and hide them in the entrance, at the gate of the house of Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} in Tahpanhes{gr.Taphnas}, in the sight of the men of Judah{gr.Juda}:

 43:9 Take°° great° stones° in thine hand,° and hide°° them in the clay° in the brickkiln,° which° [is] at the entry° of Pharaoh's° house° in Tahpanhes,° in the sight° of the men°° of Judah;°

 43:10 and thou shalt say, Thus has the Lord said; Behold, I [will] send, and will bring Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} king of Babylon, and he shall place his throne upon these stones which thou hast hidden, and he shall lift up weapons against them.

 43:10 And say°° unto° them, Thus° saith°° Yahweh° Sabaoth,° the Elohim° of Israel;° Behold,° I will send°° and take°°° Nebuchadrezzar° the king° of Babylon,° my servant,° and will set°° his throne° upon°° these° stones° that° I have hid;°° and he shall spread°°° his royal pavilion° over° them.

 43:11 And he shall enter in, and smite the land of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, [delivering] some for death to death; and some for captivity to captivity; and some for the sword to the sword.

 43:11 And when he cometh,°° he shall smite°°° the land° of Egypt,° [and deliver] such° [as are] for death° to death;° and such° [as are] for captivity° to captivity;° and such° [as are] for the sword° to the sword.°

 43:12 And he shall kindle a fire in the houses of their gods, and shall burn them, and shall carry them away captives: and shall search the land of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, as a shepherd searches his garment; and he shall go forth in peace.

 43:12 And I will kindle°° a fire° in the houses° of the elohim° of Egypt;° and he shall burn°° them, and carry them away captives:°° and he shall array°° himself° with° the land° of Egypt,° as° a shepherd°° putteth on°°° his garment;° and he shall go forth°° from thence°° in peace.°

 43:13 And he shall break to pieces the pillars of Heliopolis that are in On, and shall burn their houses with fire.

 43:13 He shall break°° also° the images° of Bethshemesh,° that° [is] in the land° of Egypt;° and the houses° of the elohim° of the Egyptians° shall he burn°° with fire.°
