THE WORD THAT CAME TO JEREMIAH{gr.JEREMIAS} from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim}, king of Judah{gr.Juda}, saying, |

Jeremiah°

Yahweh°
in the days°
of Jehoiakim°
the son°
of Josiah°
king°
of Judah,°
saying,°° |

35:2
Go to the house of the Archabin, and thou shalt bring them to the house of the Lord, into one of the courts, and give them wine to drink. |

unto°
the house°
of the Rechabites,°
and speak°°
unto°
them, and bring°°
them into the house°
of Yahweh,°
into°
one°
of the chambers,°
and give them wine°
to drink.°° |

35:3
So I brought forth Jeconiah{gr.Jechonias} the son of Jeremin the son of Chabasin, and his brethren, and his sons, and all the family of the Archabin; |

Then I took°°°
Jaazaniah°
the son°
of Jeremiah,°
the son°
of Habaziniah,°
and his brethren,°
and all°
his sons,°
and the whole°
house°
of the Rechabites;° |

35:4
and I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Johanan{gr.Joanan}, the son of Hananiah{gr.Ananias}, the son of Gedaliah{gr.Godolias}, a man of God, who dwells near the house of the princes that are over the house of Maaseiah{gr.Maasaeas} the son of Shelah{gr.Selom}, who kept the court. |

And I brought°°
them into the house°
of Yahweh,°
into°
the chamber°
of the sons°
of Hanan,°
the son°
of Igdaliah,°
a man°
of Elohim,°
which°
[was] by°
the chamber°
of the princes,°
which°
[was] above°°
the chamber°
of Maaseiah°
the son°
of Shallum,°
the keeper°°
of the door:° |

And I set before them a jar of wine, and cups, and I said, Drink ye wine. |

And I set°°
before°
the sons°
of the house°
of the Rechabites°
pots°
full°
of wine,°
and cups,°
and I said°°
unto°
them, Drink°°
ye wine.° |

35:6
But they said, We will on no account drink wine, for our father Jonadab the son of Rechab commanded us, saying, Ye shall on no account drink wine, [neither] ye, nor your sons for ever: |

But they said,°°
We will drink°°
no°
wine:°
for°
Jonadab°
the son°
of Rechab°
our father°
commanded°°°
us, saying,°°
Ye shall drink°°
no°
wine,°
[neither ye],°
nor your sons°
for°
ever:°° |

nor shall ye at all build houses, nor sow any seed, nor shall ye have a vineyard: for ye shall dwell in tents all your days; that ye may live many days upon the land, in which ye sojourn. |

shall ye build°°

nor°

seed,°
nor°
plant°°
vineyard,°
nor°
have°
[any]: but°
all°
your days°
ye shall dwell°°
in tents;°
that°
ye may live°°
many°
days°
in°°
the land°
where°°
ye°
[be] strangers.°° |

And we hearkened to the voice of Jonadab our father, so as to drink no wine all our days, we, and our wives, and our sons, and our daughters; |

Thus have we obeyed°°
the voice°
of Jonadab°
the son°
of Rechab°
our father°
in all°
that°
he hath charged°°
us, to drink°°
no°
wine°
all°
our days,°
we,°
our wives,°
our sons,°
nor our daughters;° |

35:9
and so as to build no houses to dwell in: and we have had no vineyard, nor field, nor seed: |

for us to dwell°
in:°°
neither°
have°
we vineyard,°
nor field,°
nor seed:° |

35:10
but we have dwelt in tents, and have hearkened, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. |

But we have dwelt°

tents,°
and have obeyed,°°
and done°°
according to all°
that°
Jonadab°
our father°
commanded°°
us. |

35:11
And it came to pass, when Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} came up against the land, that we said we would come in; and wee entered into Jerusalem, for fear of the host of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the host of the Assyrians: and we dwelt there. |

But it came to pass,°
when Nebuchadrezzar°
king°
of Babylon°
came up°°
into°
the land,°
that we said,°°
Come,°°
and let us go°°
to Jerusalem°
for fear°°
of the army°
of the Chaldeans,°
and for fear°°
of the army°
of the Syrians:°
so we dwell°°
at Jerusalem.° |

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, |

Then came°
the word°
of Yahweh°
unto°
Jeremiah,°
saying,°° |
|
35:13
Thus saith the Lord, Go, and say to the men of Judah{gr.Juda}, and to them that dwell in Jerusalem, Will ye not receive correction to hearken to my words? |

Sabaoth,°
the Elohim°
of Israel;°
Go°°
and tell°°
the men°
of Judah°
and the inhabitants°°
of Jerusalem,°
Will ye not°
receive°°
instruction°
to hearken°°
to°
my words?°

The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the word which he commanded his children, that they should drink no wine; and they have not drunk [it]: but I spoke to you early, and ye hearkened not. |

are performed;°°
for unto°
this°
day°
they drink°°
none,°
but°
obey°°°
their father's°
commandment:°
notwithstanding I°

unto°
you, rising early°°
and speaking;°°
but ye hearkened°°
not°
unto°
me. |

And I sent to you my servants the prophets, saying, Turn ye every one from his evil way, and amend your practices, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell upon the land which I gave to you and to your fathers: but ye inclined not your ears, and hearkened not. |

rising up early°°
and sending°°
[them], saying,°°
Return°°
ye now°
every man°
from his evil°
way,°°
and amend°°
your doings,°
and go°°°
not°

them, and ye shall dwell°

the land°
which°
I have given°°
to you and to your fathers:°
but ye have not°
inclined°°°
your ear,°
nor°
hearkened°°
unto°
me. |

But the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the command of their father; but this people has not hearkened to me. |

the sons°
of Jonadab°
the son°
of Rechab°
have performed°°°
the commandment°
of their father,°
which°
he commanded°°
them; but this°
people°
hath not°
hearkened°°
unto°
me: |

35:17
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I [will] bring upon Judah{gr.Juda} and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evils which I pronounced against them. |

Elohim°
Sabaoth,°
the Elohim°
of Israel;°
Behold,°
I will bring°°
upon°
Judah°
and upon°
all°
the inhabitants°°
of Jerusalem°°
all°
the evil°
that°
I have pronounced°°
against°
them: because°
I have spoken°°
unto°
them, but they have not°
heard;°°
and I have called°°
unto them, but they have not°
answered.°° |

Therefore thus saith the Lord; Since the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have hearkened to the command of their father, to do as their father commanded them: |

And Jeremiah°
said°°
unto the house°
of the Rechabites,°
Thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth,°
the Elohim°
of Israel;°
Because°°
ye have obeyed°°°
the commandment°
of Jonadab°
your father,°
and kept°°°
all°
his precepts,°
and done°°
according unto all°
that°
he hath commanded°°
you: |

there shall never be wanting a man of the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab to stand before my face while the earth remains. |
|
35:19
Therefore°
thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth,°
the Elohim°
of Israel;°
Jonadab°
the son°
of Rechab°
shall not°
want°°
a man°
to stand°°
before°
me for ever.°° |
