25:1 ¶
THE WORD THAT CAME TO JEREMIAH{gr.JEREMIAS} concerning all the people of Judah{gr.Juda} in the fourth year of Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim}, son of Josiah{gr.Josias}, king of Judah{gr.Juda}; |
|
25:1 ¶
The word°
that°
came°
to°
Jeremiah°
concerning°
all°
the people°
of Judah°
in the fourth°
year°
of Jehoiakim°
the son°
of Josiah°
king°
of Judah,°
that°
[was] the first°
year°
of Nebuchadrezzar°
king°
of Babylon;° |
25:2
which he spoke to all the people of Judah{gr.Juda}, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, |
|
25:2
The which°
Jeremiah°
the prophet°
spake°°
unto°
all°
the people°
of Judah,°
and to°
all°
the inhabitants°°
of Jerusalem,°
saying,°° |
25:3
In the thirteenth year of Josiah{gr.Josias}, son of Amos, king of Judah{gr.Juda}, even until this day for three and twenty years, I have both spoken to you, rising early and speaking, |
|
25:3
From°
the thirteenth°°
year°
of Josiah°
the son°
of Amon°
king°
of Judah,°
even unto°
this°
day,°
that°
[is] the three°
and twentieth°
year,°
the word°
of Yahweh°
hath come°
unto°
me, and I have spoken°°
unto°
you, rising early°°
and speaking;°°
but ye have not°
hearkened.°° |
25:4
and I sent to you my servants the prophets, sending them early; (but ye hearkened not, and listened not with your ears;) saying, |
|
25:4
And Yahweh°
hath sent°°
unto°
you°
all°
his servants°
the prophets,°
rising early°°
and sending°°
[them]; but ye have not°
hearkened,°°
nor°
inclined°°°
your ear°
to hear.°° |
25:5
Turn ye every one from his evil way, and from your evil practices, and ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to you and your fathers, of old and for ever. |
|
25:5
They said,°°
Turn ye again°°
now°
every one°
from his evil°
way,°°
and from the evil°°
of your doings,°
and dwell°°
in°
the land°
that°
Yahweh°
hath given°°
unto you and to your fathers°
for°
ever°
and ever:°° |
25:6
Go ye not after strange gods, to serve them, and to worship them, that ye provoke me not by the works of your hands, to do you hurt. |
|
25:6
And go°°°
not°
after°
other°
elohim°
to serve°°
them, and to worship°°
them, and provoke me not to anger°°°°
with the works°
of your hands;°
and I will do you no hurt.°°° |
25:7
But ye hearkened not to me. |
|
25:7
Yet ye have not°
hearkened°°
unto°
me, saith°°
Yahweh;°
that°
ye might provoke me to anger°°
with the works°
of your hands°
to your own hurt.° |
25:8 ¶
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Since ye believed not my words, |
|
25:8 ¶
Therefore°
thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth;°
Because°°
ye have not°
heard°°°
my words,° |
25:9
behold I [will] send and take a family from the north, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all the nations round about it, and I will make them utterly waste, and make them a desolation, and a hissing, and an everlasting reproach. |
|
25:9
Behold,°
I will send°°
and take°°°
all°
the families°
of the north,°
saith°°
Yahweh,°
and Nebuchadrezzar°
the king°
of Babylon,°
my servant,°
and will bring°°
them against°
this°
land,°
and against°
the inhabitants°°
thereof, and against°
all°
these°
nations°
round about,°
and will utterly destroy°°
them, and make°°
them an astonishment,°
and an hissing,°
and perpetual°
desolations.° |
25:10
And I will destroy from [among] them the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the scent of ointment, and the light of a candle. |
|
25:10
Moreover I will take°°
from°
them the voice°
of mirth,°
and the voice°
of gladness,°
the voice°
of the bridegroom,°
and the voice°
of the bride,°
the sound°
of the millstones,°
and the light°
of the candle.° |
25:11
And all the land shall be a desolation; and they shall serve among the Gentiles seventy years. |
|
25:11
And this°
whole°
land°
shall be°
a desolation,°
[and] an astonishment;°
and these°
nations°
shall serve°°°
the king°
of Babylon°
seventy°
years.° |
25:12 ¶
And when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will take vengeance on that nation, and will make them a perpetual desolation. |
|
25:12 ¶
And it shall come to pass,°
when seventy°
years°
are accomplished,°°
[that] I will punish°°°
the king°
of Babylon,°
and that°
nation,°
saith°°
Yahweh,°
for°
their iniquity,°
and the land°
of the Chaldeans,°
and will make°°
it perpetual°
desolations.° |
25:13
And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have spoken against it, [even] all things that are written in this book. |
|
25:13
And I will bring°°
upon°
that°
land°°
all°
my words°
which°
I have pronounced°°
against°
it, [even]°
all°
that is written°°
in this°
book,°
which°
Jeremiah°
hath prophesied°°
against°
all°
the nations.° |
25:14
[Absent from Manuscript] |
|
25:14
For°
many°
nations°
and great°
kings°
shall serve°°
themselves°
of them also:°
and I will recompense°°
them according to their deeds,°
and according to the works°
of their own hands.° |
25:15 ¶
Thus said the Lord God of Israel; Take the cup of this unmixed wine from mine hand, and thou shalt cause all the nations to drink, to whom I send thee. |
|
25:15 ¶
For°
thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Elohim°
of Israel°
unto°
me; Take°°°
the wine°
cup°
of this°
fury°
at my hand,°°
and cause°
all°
the nations,°
to whom°°
I°
send°°
thee, to drink°°
it. |
25:16
And they shall drink, and vomit, and be mad, because of the sword which I send among them. |
|
25:16
And they shall drink,°°
and be moved,°°
and be mad,°°
because°°
of the sword°
that°
I will send°°
among°
them. |
25:17
So I took the cup out of the Lord's hand, and caused the nations to whom the Lord sent me to drink: |
|
25:17
Then took°°
I°
the cup°
at Yahweh's°
hand,°°
and made°
all°
the nations°
to drink,°°
unto°
whom°
Yahweh°
had sent°°
me: |
25:18
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah{gr.Juda}, and the kings of Judah{gr.Juda}, and his princes, to make them a desert place, a desolation, and a hissing; |
|
25:18
[To wit],°
Jerusalem,°
and the cities°
of Judah,°
and the kings°
thereof, and°
the princes°
thereof, to make°°
them a desolation,°
an astonishment,°
an hissing,°
and a curse;°
as [it is] this°
day;° |
25:19
and Pharaoh{gr.Pharao} king of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, and his servants, and his nobles, and all his people; |
|
25:19
°
Pharaoh°
king°
of Egypt,°
and his servants,°
and his princes,°
and all°
his people;° |
25:20
and all the mingled [people], and all the kings of the Philistines, and Askelon{gr.Ascalon}, and Gaza, and Ekron{gr.Accaron}, and the remnant of Ashdod{gr.Azotus}, |
|
25:20
And all°
the mingled°
people,°
and°
all°
the kings°
of the land°
of Uz,°
and all°
the kings°
of the land°
of the Philistines,°
and Ashkelon,°
and Azzah,°
and Ekron,°
and the remnant°
of Ashdod,° |
25:21
and Edom{gr.Idumea}, and the land of Moab, and the children of Ammon, |
|
25:21
°
Edom,°
and Moab,°
and the children°
of Ammon,° |
25:22
and the kings of Tyre, and the kings of Zidon{gr.Sidon}, and the kings in the [country] beyond the sea, |
|
25:22
And all°
the kings°
of Tyrus,°
and all°
the kings°
of Zidon,°
and the kings°
of the isles°
which°
[are] beyond°
the sea,° |
25:23
and Dedan{gr.Daedan}, and Teman{gr.Thaeman}, and Ros, and every one that is shaved round about the face, |
|
25:23
Dedan,°
and Tema,°
and Buz,°
and all°
[that are] in the utmost°°
corners,° |
25:24
and all the mingled [people] lodging in the wilderness, |
|
25:24
And all°
the kings°
of Arabia,°
and all°
the kings°
of the mingled people°°
that dwell°°
in the desert,° |
25:25
and all the kings of Elam{gr.Aelam}, and all the kings of the Persians, |
|
25:25
And all°
the kings°
of Zimri,°
and all°
the kings°
of Elam,°
and all°
the kings°
of the Medes,° |
25:26
and all the kings from the north, the far and the near, each one with his brother, and all the kingdom s which are on the face of the earth. |
|
25:26
And all°
the kings°
of the north,°
far°
and near,°
one°
with°
another,°
and all°
the kingdoms°
of the world,°
which°
[are] upon°
the face°
of the earth:°
and the king°
of Sheshach°
shall drink°°
after°
them. |
25:27
And thou shalt say to them, Thus said the Lord Almighty; Drink ye, be ye drunken; and ye shall vomit, and shall fall, and shall in nowise rise, because of the sword which I send among you. |
|
25:27
Therefore thou shalt say°°
unto°
them, Thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth,°
the Elohim°
of Israel;°
Drink°°
ye, and be drunken,°°
and spue,°°
and fall,°°
and rise°°
no°
more, because°°
of the sword°
which°
I°
will send°°
among°
you. |
25:28
And it shall come to pass, when they refuse to take the cup out of thine hand, to drink it, that thou shalt say, Thus said the Lord; Ye shall surely drink. |
|
25:28
And it shall be,°
if°
they refuse°°
to take°°
the cup°
at thine hand°°
to drink,°°
then shalt thou say°°
unto°
them, Thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth;°
Ye shall certainly°°
drink.°° |
25:29
For I am beginning to afflict the city whereon my name is called, and ye shall by no means be held guiltless: for I am calling a sword upon all that dwell upon the earth. |
|
25:29
For,°
lo,°
I°
begin°°
to bring evil°°
on the city°
which°
is called°°
by°
my name,°
and should ye°
be utterly°°
unpunished?°°
Ye shall not°
be unpunished:°°
for°
I°
will call°°
for°
a sword°
upon°
all°
the inhabitants°°
of the earth,°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth.° |
25:30
And thou shalt prophesy against them these words, and shalt say, The Lord shall speak from on high, from his sanctuary he will utter his voice; he will pronounce a declaration on his place; and these shall answer like men gathering grapes: and destruction is coming on them that dwell on the earth, |
|
25:30
Therefore prophesy°°
thou°
against°
them°
all°
these°
words,°
and say°°
unto°
them, Yahweh°
shall roar°°
from on high,°°
and utter°°
his voice°
from his holy°
habitation;°°
he shall mightily°°
roar°°
upon°
his habitation;°
he shall give°°
a shout,°
as they that tread°°
[the grapes], against°
all°
the inhabitants°°
of the earth.° |
25:31
[even] upon [the extreme] part of the earth; for the Lord [has] a controversy with the nations, he is pleading with all flesh, and the ungodly are given to the sword, saith the Lord. |
|
25:31
A noise°
shall come°°
[even] to°
the ends°
of the earth;°
for°
Yahweh°
hath a controversy°
with the nations,°
he°
will plead°°
with all°
flesh;°
he will give°°
them [that are] wicked°
to the sword,°
saith°°
Yahweh.° |
25:32
Thus said the Lord; Behold, evils are proceeding from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind goes forth from the end of the earth. |
|
25:32
Thus°
saith°°
Yahweh°
Sabaoth,°
Behold,°
evil°
shall go forth°°
from nation°°
to°
nation,°
and a great°
whirlwind°
shall be raised up°°
from the coasts°°
of the earth.° |
25:33
And the slain of the Lord shall be in the day of the Lord from [one] end of the earth even to the [other] end of the earth: they shall not be buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth. |
|
25:33
And the slain°
of Yahweh°
shall be°
at that°
day°
from [one] end°°
of the earth°
even unto°
the [other] end°
of the earth:°
they shall not°
be lamented,°°
neither°
gathered,°°
nor°
buried;°°
they shall be°
dung°
upon°°
the ground.° |
25:34 ¶
Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and lament, ye rams of the flock: for your days have been completed for slaughter, and ye shall fall as the choice rams. |
|
25:34 ¶
Howl,°°
ye shepherds,°°
and cry;°°
and wallow°°
yourselves°
[in the ashes], ye principal°
of the flock:°
for°
the days°
of your slaughter°°
and of your dispersions°
are accomplished;°°
and ye shall fall°°
like a pleasant°
vessel.° |
25:35
And flight shall perish from the shepherds, and safety from the rams of the flock. |
|
25:35
And the shepherds°°
shall have no way°
to flee,°°°°
nor the principal°°
of the flock°
to escape.° |
25:36
A voice of the crying of the shepherds, and a moaning of the sheep and the rams: for the Lord has destroyed their pastures. |
|
25:36
A voice°
of the cry°
of the shepherds,°°
and an howling°
of the principal°
of the flock,°
[shall be heard]: for°
Yahweh°
hath spoiled°°°
their pasture.° |
25:37
And the peaceable abodes that remain shall be destroyed before the fierceness of my anger. |
|
25:37
And the peaceable°
habitations°
are cut down°°
because°°
of the fierce°
anger°
of Yahweh.° |
25:38
He has forsaken his lair, as a lion: for their land is become desolate before the great sword. |
|
25:38
He hath forsaken°°
his covert,°
as the lion:°
for°
their land°
is°
desolate°
because°°
of the fierceness°
of the oppressor,°°
and because°°
of his fierce°
anger.° |
