 24:1 ¶ The Lord shewed me two baskets of figs, lying in front of the temple of the Lord, after Nebuchadnezzar{gr.Nabuchodonosor} king of Babylon had carried captive Jeconiah{gr.Jechonias} son of Jehoiakim{gr.Joakim} king of Judah{gr.Juda}, and the princes, and the artificers, and the prisoners, and the rich men out of Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

 24:1 ¶ Yahweh° shewed°° me, and, behold,° two° baskets° of figs° [were] set°° before° the temple° of Yahweh,° after° that° Nebuchadrezzar° king° of Babylon° had carried away captive°°° Jeconiah° the son° of Jehoiakim° king° of Judah,° and the princes° of Judah,° with° the carpenters° and smiths,° from Jerusalem,°° and had brought°° them to Babylon.°

 24:2 The one basket was [full] of very good figs, as the early figs; and the other basket was [full] of very bad figs, which could not be eaten, for their badness.

 24:2 One° basket° [had] very° good° figs,° [even] like the figs° [that are] first ripe:° and the other° basket° [had] very° naughty° figs,° which° could not° be eaten,°° they were so bad.°°

 24:3 And the Lord said to me, What seest thou, Jeremiah{gr.Jeremias}? and I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for their badness.

 24:3 Then said°° Yahweh° unto° me, What° seest°° thou,° Jeremiah?° And I said,°° Figs;° the good° figs,° very° good;° and the evil,° very° evil,° that° cannot° be eaten,°° they are so evil.°°

 24:4 ¶ And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

 24:4 ¶ Again the word° of Yahweh° came° unto° me, saying,°°

 24:5 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; As these good figs, so will I acknowledge the Jews that have been carried away captive, whom I have sent forth out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for good.

 24:5 Thus° saith°° Yahweh,° the Elohim° of Israel;° Like these° good° figs,° so° will I acknowledge°°° them that are carried away captive° of Judah,° whom° I have sent°° out of° this° place° into the land° of the Chaldeans° for [their] good.°

 24:6 And I will fix mine eyes upon them for good, and I will restore them into this land for good: and I will build them up, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

 24:6 For I will set°° mine eyes° upon° them for good,° and I will bring them again°° to° this° land:° and I will build°° them, and not° pull [them] down;°° and I will plant°° them, and not° pluck [them] up.°°

 24:7 And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be to me a people, and I will be to them a God: for they shall turn to me with all their heart.

 24:7 And I will give°° them an heart° to know°° me, that° I° [am] Yahweh:° and they shall be° my people,° and I° will be° their Elohim:° for° they shall return°° unto° me with their whole° heart.°

 24:8 ¶ And as the bad figs, which cannot be eaten, for their badness; thus saith the Lord, So will I deliver Zedekiah{gr.Sedekias} king of Judah{gr.Juda}, and his nobles, and the remnant of Jerusalem, them that are left in this land, and the dwellers in Mizraim{gr.Egypt}.

 24:8 ¶ And as the evil° figs,° which° cannot° be eaten,°° they are so evil;°° surely° thus° saith°° Yahweh,° So° will I give°°° Zedekiah° the king° of Judah,° and his princes,° and the residue° of Jerusalem,° that remain°° in this° land,° and them that dwell°° in the land° of Egypt:°

 24:9 And I will cause them to be dispersed into all the kingdoms of the earth, and they shall be for a reproach, and a proverb, and an [object of] hatred, and a curse, in every place whither I have driven them out.

 24:9 And I will deliver°° them to be removed°°° into all° the kingdoms° of the earth° for [their] hurt,° [to be] a reproach° and a proverb,° a taunt° and a curse,° in all° places° whither°° I shall drive°° them.

 24:10 And I will send against them famine, and pestilence, and the sword, until they are consumed from off the land which I gave them.

 24:10 And I will send°°° the sword,°° the famine,° and the pestilence,° among them, till° they be consumed°° from off°° the land° that° I gave°° unto them and to their fathers.°
