Daniel 11

1 The overthrow of Persia by the king of Grecia. 5 Leagues and conflicts between the kings of the south and the north. 30 The invasion and tyranny of the Romans.

 11:1 “In the first 259 year 8141 of Darius 1867 the Mede 4075, I arose 5975 to be an encouragement 2388 and a protection 4581 for him.

 11:2 “And now 6258 I will tell 5046 you the truth 571. Behold 2009, three 7969 more 5750 kings 4428 are going to arise 5975 in Persia 6539. Then a fourth 7243 will gain 6238 far 1419 more 1419 riches 6239 than 4480 all 3605 [of them]; as soon as he becomes strong 2393 through his riches 6239, he will arouse 5782 the whole 3605 [empire] against the realm 4438 of Greece 3120.

 11:3 “And a mighty 1368 king 4428 will arise 5975, and he will rule 4910 with great 7227a authority 4474 and do 6213a as he pleases 7522.

 11:4 “But as soon as he has arisen 5975, his kingdom 4438 will be broken 7665 up and parceled 2673 out toward the four 702 points 7307 of the compass 8064, though not to his [own] descendants 319, nor 3808 according to his authority 4915a which 834 he wielded 4910, for his sovereignty 4438 will be uprooted 5428 and [given] to others 312 besides 4480 905 them.

 11:5 ¶ “Then the king 4428 of the South 5045 will grow 2388 strong 2388, along with [one] of his princes 8269 who will gain 2388 ascendancy 2388 over 5921 him and obtain 4910 dominion 4910; his domain 4475 [will be] a great 7227a dominion 4475 [indeed].

 11:6 “After 7093 some years 8141 they will form 2266 an alliance 2266, and the daughter 1323 of the king 4428 of the South 5045 will come 935 to the king 4428 of the North 6828 to carry 6213a out a peaceful 4339 arrangement 4339. But she will not retain 6113 her position 2220 of power 3581b, nor 3808 will he remain 5975 with his power 2220, but she will be given 5414 up, along with those who brought 935 her in and the one who sired 3205 her as well as he who supported 2388 her in [those] times 6256.

 11:7 “But one of the descendants 5342 of her line 8328 will arise 5975 in his place 3653b, and he will come 935 against 413 [their] army 2428 and enter 935 the fortress 4581 of the king 4428 of the North 6828, and he will deal 6213a with them and display 2388 [great] strength 2388.

 11:8 “Also 1571 their gods 430 with their metal 5257a images 5257a [and] their precious 2532 vessels 3627 of silver 3701 and gold 2091 he will take 935 into captivity 7628b to Egypt 4714, and he on his part 1931 will refrain 5975 from [attacking] the king 4428 of the North 6828 for [some] years 8141.

 11:9 “Then the latter will enter 935 the realm 4438 of the king 4428 of the South 5045, but will return 7725 to his [own] land 127.

 11:10 ¶ “His sons 1121 will mobilize 1624 and assemble 622 a multitude 1995 of great 7227a forces 2428; and one of them will keep 935 on coming 935 and overflow 7857 and pass 5674a through 5674a, that he may again 7725 wage 1624 war 1624 up to his [very] fortress 4581.

 11:11 “The king 4428 of the South 5045 will be enraged 4843 and go 3318 forth 3318 and fight 3898a with the king 4428 of the North 6828. Then the latter will raise 5975 a great 7227a multitude 1995, but [that] multitude 1995 will be given 5414 into the hand 3027 of the [former].

 11:12 “When the multitude 1995 is carried 5375 away, his heart 3824 will be lifted 7311 up, and he will cause tens 7239 of thousands 7239 to fall 5307; yet he will not prevail 5810.

 11:13 “For the king 4428 of the North 6828 will again 7725 raise 5975 a greater 7227a multitude 1995 than 4480 the former 7223, and after 7093 an interval 7093 6256 of some 6256 years 8141 he will press 935 on with a great 1419 army 2428 and much 7227a equipment 7399.

 11:14 ¶ “Now in those 1992a times 6256 many 7227a will rise 5975 up against 5921 the king 4428 of the South 5045; the violent 6530 ones 1121 6530 among your people 5971a will also lift 5375 themselves up in order to fulfill 5975 the vision 2377, but they will fall 3782 down 3782.

 11:15 “Then the king 4428 of the North 6828 will come 935, cast 8210 up a siege 5550 ramp 5550 and capture 3920 a well-fortified 4013 city 5892b; and the forces 2220 of the South 5045 will not stand 5975 [their ground], not even their choicest 4005 troops 5971a, for there 369 will be no 369 strength 3581b to make 5975 a stand 5975.

 11:16 “But he who comes 935 against 413 him will do 6213a as he pleases 7522, and no 369 one 369 will [be able to] withstand 6440 5975 him; he will also stay 5975 [for a time] in the Beautiful 6643a Land 776, with destruction 3617 in his hand 3027.

 11:17 “He will set 7760 his face 6440 to come 935 with the power 8633 of his whole 3605 kingdom 4438, bringing with him a proposal 3477 of peace 3477 which he will put 6213a into effect 6213a; he will also give 5414 him the daughter 1323 of women 802 to ruin 7843 it. But she will not take 5975 a stand 5975 [for him] or be on his side.

 11:18 “Then he will turn 7725 his face 6440 to the coastlands 339 and capture 3920 many 7227a. But a commander 7101 will put 7673a a stop 7673a to his scorn 2781 against him; moreover 1115, he will repay 7725 him for his scorn 2781.

 11:19 “So he will turn 7725 his face 6440 toward the fortresses 4581 of his own land 776, but he will stumble 3782 and fall 5307 and be found 4672 no 3808 more.

 11:20 ¶ “Then in his place 3653b one will arise 5975 who will send 5674a an oppressor 5065 through 5674a the Jewel 1925 of [his] kingdom 4438; yet within a few 259 days 3117 he will be shattered 7665, though not in anger 639 nor 3808 in battle 4421.

 11:21 “In his place 3653b a despicable 959 person will arise 5975, on whom the honor 1935 of kingship 4438 has not been conferred 5414, but he will come 935 in a time 7962 of tranquility 7962 and seize 2388 the kingdom 4438 by intrigue 2519.

 11:22 “The overflowing 7858 forces 2220 will be flooded 7857 away 7857 before 4480 6440 him and shattered 7665, and also 1571 the prince 5057 of the covenant 1285.

 11:23 “After 4480 an alliance 2266 is made 2266 with him he will practice 6213a deception 4820, and he will go 5927 up and gain 6105a power 6105a with a small 4592 [force of] people 1471.

 11:24 “In a time 7962 of tranquility 7962 he will enter 935 the richest 4924a [parts] of the realm 4082, and he will accomplish 6213a what 834 his fathers 1 never 3808 did 6213a, nor 3808 his ancestors 1; he will distribute 967 plunder 961, booty 7998 and possessions 7399 among them, and he will devise 2803 his schemes 4284 against 5921 strongholds 4013, but [only] for a time 6256.

 11:25 “He will stir 5782 up his strength 3581b and courage 3824 against 5921 the king 4428 of the South 5045 with a large 1419 army 2428; so the king 4428 of the South 5045 will mobilize 1624 an extremely 5704 3966 large 1419 and mighty 6099 army 2428 for war 4421; but he will not stand 5975, for schemes 4284 will be devised 2803 against 5921 him.

 11:26 “Those who eat 398 his choice 6598 food 6598 will destroy 7665 him, and his army 2428 will overflow 7857, but many 7227a will fall 5307 down 5307 slain 2491a.

 11:27 “As for both 8147 kings 4428, their hearts 3824 will be [intent] on evil 7489a, and they will speak 1696 lies 3577 [to each other] at the same 259 table 7979; but it will not succeed 6743b, for the end 7093 is still 5750 [to come] at the appointed 4150 time 4150.

 11:28 “Then he will return 7725 to his land 776 with much 1419 plunder 7399; but his heart 3824 will be [set] against 5921 the holy 6944 covenant 1285, and he will take 6213a action 6213a and [then] return 7725 to his [own] land 776.

 11:29 ¶ “At the appointed 4150 time 4150 he will return 7725 and come 935 into the South 5045, but this last 314 time 314 it will not turn 1961 out the way it did before 7223.

 11:30 “For ships 6716a of Kittim 3794 will come 935 against him; therefore he will be disheartened 3512a and will return 7725 and become 2194 enraged 2194 at the holy 6944 covenant 1285 and take 6213a action 6213a; so he will come 7725 back 7725 and show 995 regard 995 for those who forsake 5800a the holy 6944 covenant 1285.

 11:31 “Forces 2220 from him will arise 5975, desecrate 2490c the sanctuary 4720 fortress 4581, and do 5493 away 5493 with the regular 8548 sacrifice 8548. And they will set 5414 up the abomination 8251 of desolation 8074.

 11:32 “By smooth 2514 [words] he will turn 2610 to godlessness 2610 those who act 7561 wickedly 7561 toward the covenant 1285, but the people 5971a who know 3045 their God 430 will display 2388 strength 2388 and take 6213a action 6213a.

 11:33 “Those who have 7919a insight 7919a among the people 5971a will give 995 understanding 995 to the many 7227a; yet they will fall 3782 by sword 2719 and by flame 3852, by captivity 7628b and by plunder 961 for [many] days 3117.

 11:34 “Now when they fall 3782 they will be granted 5826 a little 4592 help 5828, and many 7227a will join 3867a with them in hypocrisy 2519.

 11:35 “Some 4480 of those who have 7919a insight 7919a will fall 3782, in order to refine 6884, purge 1305 and make 3835a them pure 3835a until 5704 the end 7093 time 6256; because 3588 [it is] still 5750 [to come] at the appointed 4150 time 4150.

 11:36 ¶ “Then the king 4428 will do 6213a as he pleases 7522, and he will exalt 7311 and magnify 1431 himself above 5921 every 3605 god 410 and will speak 1696 monstrous 6381 things 6381 against 5921 the God 410 of gods 410; and he will prosper 6743b until 5704 the indignation 2195 is finished 3615, for that which is decreed 2782 will be done 6213a.

 11:37 “He will show 995 no 3808 regard 995 for the gods 430 of his fathers 1 or for the desire 2532 of women 802, nor 3808 will he show 995 regard 995 for any 3605 [other] god 433; for he will magnify 1431 himself above 5921 [them] all 3605.

 11:38 “But instead 5921 3653b he will honor 3513 a god 433 of fortresses 4581, a god 433 whom 834 his fathers 1 did not know 3045; he will honor 3513 [him] with gold 2091, silver 3701, costly 3368 stones 68 and treasures 2536b.

 11:39 “He will take 6213a action 6213a against the strongest 4581 of fortresses 4581 with [the help of] a foreign 5236 god 433; he will give 7235a great 7235a honor 3519b to those who 834 acknowledge 5234 [him] and will cause them to rule 4910 over the many 7227a, and will parcel 2505a out land 127 for a price 4242.

 11:40 ¶ “At the end 7093 time 6256 the king 4428 of the South 5045 will collide 5055 with him, and the king 4428 of the North 6828 will storm 8175a against 5921 him with chariots 7393, with horsemen 6571b and with many 7227a ships 591; and he will enter 935 countries 776, overflow 7857 [them] and pass 5674a through 5674a.

 11:41 “He will also enter 935 the Beautiful 6643a Land 776, and many 7227a [countries] will fall 3782; but these 428 will be rescued 4422 out of his hand 3027: Edom 112b, Moab 4124 and the foremost 7225 of the sons 1121 of Ammon 5983.

 11:42 “Then he will stretch 7971 out his hand 3027 against [other] countries 776, and the land 776 of Egypt 4714 will not escape 6413.

 11:43 “But he will gain 4910 control 4910 over the hidden 4362 treasures 4362 of gold 2091 and silver 3701 and over all 3605 the precious 2536b things 2536b of Egypt 4714; and Libyans 3864 and Ethiopians 3569 [will follow] at his heels 4703.

 11:44 “But rumors 8052 from the East 4217 and from the North 6828 will disturb 926 him, and he will go 3318 forth 3318 with great 1419 wrath 2534 to destroy 8045 and annihilate 2763a many 7227a.

 11:45 “He will pitch 5193 the tents 168 of his royal 643 pavilion 643 between 996 the seas 3220 and the beautiful 6643a Holy 6944 Mountain 2022; yet he will come 935 to his end 7093, and no 369 one 369 will help 5826 him.
