2 Samuel 4

1 The Israelites being troubled at the death of Abner, 2 Baanah and Rechab slay Ish-bosheth, and bring his head to Hebron. 9 David causeth them to be slain, and Ish-bosheth's head to be buried.

 4:1 Now when Ish-bosheth, Saul’s 7586 son 1121, heard 8085 that Abner 74 had died 4191 in Hebron 2275a, he lost 7503 courage 3027 7503, and all 3605 Israel 3478 was disturbed 926.

 4:2 Saul’s 7586 son 1121 [had] two 8147 men 376 who were commanders 8269 of bands 1416: the name 8034 of the one 259 was Baanah 1196 and the name 8034 of the other 8145 Rechab 7394, sons 1121 of Rimmon 7417b the Beerothite 886, of the sons 1121 of Benjamin 1144 (for Beeroth 881 is also 1571 considered 2803 [part] of Benjamin 1144,

 4:3 and the Beerothites 886 fled 1272 to Gittaim 1664 and have been 1961 aliens 1481a there 8033 until 5704 this 2088 day 3117).

 4:7 Now when they came 935 into the house 1004, as he was lying 7901 on his bed 4296 in his bedroom 2315 4904, they struck 5221 him and killed 4191 him and beheaded 5493 7218 him. And they took 3947 his head 7218 and traveled 1980 by way 1870 of the Arabah 6160 all 3605 night 3915.

 4:8 Then they brought 935 the head 7218 of Ish-bosheth 378 to David 1732 at Hebron 2275a and said 559 to the king 4428, “Behold 2009, the head 7218 of Ish-bosheth 378 the son 1121 of Saul 7586, your enemy 340, who 834 sought 1245 your life 5315; thus the LORD 3068 has given 5414 my lord 113 the king 4428 vengeance 5360 this 2088 day 3117 on Saul 7586 and his descendants 2233.”

 4:9 ¶ David 1732 answered 6030a Rechab 7394 and Baanah 1196 his brother 251, sons 1121 of Rimmon 7417b the Beerothite 886, and said 559 to them, “As the LORD 3068 lives 2416a, who 834 has redeemed 6299 my life 5315 from all 3605 distress 6869a,

 4:10 when 3588 one told 5046 me, saying 559, ‘Behold 2009, Saul 7586 is dead 4191,’ and thought 5869 he was bringing 1319 good news 1319, I seized 270 him and killed 2026 him in Ziklag 6860, which 834 was the reward 1309 I gave 5414 him for [his] news 1309.

 4:11 “How 637 much 637 3588 more 637 3588, when 3588 wicked 7563 men 376 have killed 2026 a righteous 6662 man 376 in his own house 1004 on his bed 4904, shall I not now 6258 require 1245 his blood 1818 from your hand 3027 and destroy 1197a you from the earth 776?”

 4:12 Then David 1732 commanded 6680 the young 5288 men 5288, and they killed 2026 them and cut 7112 off 7112 their hands 3027 and feet 7272 and hung 8518 them up beside 5921 the pool 1295 in Hebron 2275a. But they took 3947 the head 7218 of Ish-bosheth 378 and buried 6912 it in the grave 6913 of Abner 74 in Hebron 2275a.
