1 Corinthians 1

1 After his salutation and thanksgiving, 10 he exhorteth them to unity, and 12 reproveth their dissensions. 18 God destroyeth the wisdom of the wise, 21 by the foolishness of preaching, and 26 calleth not for the wise, mighty, and noble, but 27, 28 the foolish, weak, and men of no account.

 1:1 Paul 3972, called 2822 [as] an apostle 652 of Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 by the will 2307 of God 2316, and Sosthenes 4988 our brother 80,

 1:2 ¶ To the church 1577 of God 2316 which is at Corinth 2882, to those who have been sanctified 37 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424, saints 40 by calling 2822, with all 3956 who in every 3956 place 5117 call 1941 on the name 3686 of our Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547, their [Lord] and ours 1473:

 1:3 ¶ Grace 5485 to you and peace 1515 from God 2316 our Father 3962 and the Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547.

 1:4 ¶ I thank 2168 my God 2316 always 3842 concerning 4012 you for the grace 5485 of God 2316 which was given 1325 you in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424,

 1:5 that in everything 3956 you were enriched 4148 in Him, in all 3956 speech 3056 and all 3956 knowledge 1108,

 1:6 even 2531a as the testimony 3142 concerning Christ 5547 was confirmed 950 in you,

 1:7 so 5620 that you are not lacking 5302 in any 3367 gift 5486, awaiting 553 eagerly 553 the revelation 602 of our Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547,

 1:8 who 3739 will also 2532 confirm 950 you to the end 5056, blameless 410 in the day 2250 of our Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547.

 1:9 God 2316 is faithful 4103, through 1223 whom 3739 you were called 2564 into fellowship 2842 with His Son 5207, Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 our Lord 2962.

 1:10 ¶ Now 1161 I exhort 3870 you, brethren 80, by the name 3686 of our Lord 2962 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547, that you all 3956 agree 846 3004 and that there be no 3361 divisions 4978 among 1722 you, but that you be made 2675 complete 2675 in the same 846 mind 3563 and in the same 846 judgment 1106.

 1:11 For I have been informed 1213 concerning 4012 you, my brethren 80, by Chloe’s 5514 [people], that there are quarrels 2054 among 1722 you.

 1:12 Now 1161 I mean 3004 this 3778, that each 1538 one 1538 of you is saying 3004, “I am 1510 of Paul 3972,” and “I of Apollos 625,” and “I of Cephas 2786,” and “I of Christ 5547.”

 1:13 Has Christ 5547 been divided 3307? Paul 3972 was not crucified 4717 for you, was he? Or 2228 were you baptized 907 in the name 3686 of Paul 3972?

 1:14 I thank 2168 God 2316 that I baptized 907 none 3762 of you except 1508 Crispus 2921 and Gaius 1050,

 1:15 so 2443 that no 3361 one 5100 would say 3004 you were baptized 907 in my name 3686.

 1:16 Now 1161 I did baptize 907 also 2532 the household 3624 of Stephanas 4734; beyond 3062 that, I do not know 3609a whether 1487 I baptized 907 any 5100 other 243.

 1:17 For Christ 5547 did not send 649 me to baptize 907, but to preach 2097 the gospel 2097, not in cleverness 4678 of speech 3056, so 2443 that the cross 4716 of Christ 5547 would not be made 2758 void 2758.

 1:18 ¶ For the word 3056 of the cross 4716 is foolishness 3472 to those 3588 who are perishing 622, but to us who are being saved 4982 it is the power 1411 of God 2316.

 1:19 For it is written 1125, “I WILL DESTROY 622 THE WISDOM 4678 OF THE WISE 4680, AND THE CLEVERNESS 4907 OF THE CLEVER 4908 I WILL SET 114 ASIDE 114.”

 1:20 Where 4226 is the wise 4680 man 4680? Where 4226 is the scribe 1122? Where 4226 is the debater 4804 of this 3778 age 165? Has not God 2316 made 3471 foolish 3471 the wisdom 4678 of the world 2889?

 1:21 For since 1894 in the wisdom 4678 of God 2316 the world 2889 through 1223 its wisdom 4678 did not [come to] know 1097 God 2316, God 2316 was well-pleased 2106 through 1223 the foolishness 3472 of the message 2782 preached 2782 to save 4982 those 3588 who believe 4100.

 1:22 For indeed 2532 Jews 2453 ask 154 for signs 4592 and Greeks 1672 search 2212 for wisdom 4678;

 1:23 but we preach 2784 Christ 5547 crucified 4717, to Jews 2453 a stumbling 4625 block 4625 and to Gentiles 1484 foolishness 3472,

 1:24 but to those 3588 who are the called 2822, both 5037 Jews 2453 and Greeks 1672, Christ 5547 the power 1411 of God 2316 and the wisdom 4678 of God 2316.

 1:25 Because 3754 the foolishness 3474 of God 2316 is wiser 4680 than men 444, and the weakness 772 of God 2316 is stronger 2478 than men 444.

 1:26 ¶ For consider 991 your calling 2821, brethren 80, that there were not many 4183 wise 4680 according 2596 to the flesh 4561, not many 4183 mighty 1415, not many 4183 noble 2104b;

 1:27 but God 2316 has chosen 1586 the foolish 3474 things 3474 of the world 2889 to shame 2617b the wise 4680, and God 2316 has chosen 1586 the weak 772 things 772 of the world 2889 to shame 2617b the things which 2478 are strong 2478,

 1:28 and the base 36 things 36 of the world 2889 and the despised 1848 God 2316 has chosen 1586, the things that are not, so 2443 that He may nullify 2673 the things that are,

 1:29 so 3704 that no 3361 3956 man 4561 may boast 2744 before 1799 God 2316.

 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424, who 3739 became 1096 to us wisdom 4678 from God 2316, and righteousness 1343 and sanctification 38, and redemption 629,

 1:31 so 2443 that, just 2531a as it is written 1125, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS 2744, BOAST 2744 IN THE LORD 2962.”
