a covenant°

´Aššûrîm
אַשּׁוּרִים,°
and oil°
is carried°°
into
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם.° |

Efrayim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Ashshurim, and oil is carried into Mitzrayim. |

Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
hath also a controversy°
with°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and will punish°°°
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב°
according to his ways;°
according to his doings°
will he recompense°°
him. |

Yahweh hath also a controversy with Yehudah, and will punish Yaaqov according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. |

He took his brother°
by the heel°°°°
in the womb,°
and by his strength°
he had power°°
with°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:° |

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with Elohim: |

Yea, he had power°°°
over°
the angel,°
and prevailed:°°
he wept,°°
and made supplication°°
unto him: he found°°
him [in]
Bêŧ ´Ël
בֵּית־אֵל,°
and there°
he spake°°
with°
us; |

Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him [in] Beth-El, and there he spake with us; |

Even

אֱלֹהִים°
Xævä´ôŧ
צְבָאוֹת;°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
[is] his memorial.° |

Even Yahweh Elohim Tzevaoth; Yahweh [is] his memorial. |

Therefore turn°°
thou°
to thy
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:°
keep°°
mercy°
and judgment,°
and wait°°
on°
thy
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
continually.° |

Therefore turn thou to thy Elohim: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy Elohim continually. |

12:7 ¶
[He is] a merchant,°
the balances°
of deceit°
[are] in his hand:°
he loveth°°
to oppress.°° |

And
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם°

Yet°
I am become rich,°°
I have found me out°°
substance:°
[in] all°
my labours°
they shall find°°
none°
iniquity°
in me that°
[were] sin.° |

And Efrayim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: [in] all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that [were] sin. |

Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם°
will yet°
make thee to dwell°°
in tabernacles,°
as in the days°
of the solemn feast.° |

And I [that am] Yahweh thy Elohim from the land of Mitzrayim will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast. |

I have also spoken°°

the prophets,°
and I°
have multiplied°°
visions,°
and used similitudes,°°
by the ministry°
of the prophets.° |

they are°
vanity:°

yea,°
their altars°
[are] as heaps°
in°
the furrows°
of the fields.° |

[Is there] iniquity [in] Gilad? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars [are] as heaps in the furrows of the fields. |

´Áräm
אֲרָם,°
and
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל°
served°°
for a wife,°
and for a wife°
he kept°°
[sheep]. |

And Yaaqov fled into the country of Aram, and Yisrael served for a wife, and for a wife he kept [sheep]. |

And by a prophet°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

יִשׂרָאֵל°
out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°°
and by a prophet°
was he preserved.°° |

And by a prophet Yahweh brought Yisrael out of Mitzrayim, and by a prophet was he preserved. |

most bitterly:°
therefore shall he leave°°
his blood°
upon°
him, and his reproach°
shall his
´Áđönîm
אֲדֹנִים°
return°°
unto him. |
