And the children of Israel, [even] the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Sin, in the first month, and the people abode in Kadesh{gr.Cades}; and Miriam{gr.Mariam} died there, and was buried there. |

And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron. |

And the people reviled Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, Would we had died in the destruction of our brethren before the Lord! |

when our brethren°

Yahweh!° |

And wherefore have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, to kill us and our cattle? |

the congregation°
of Yahweh°
into°
this°
wilderness,°
that we°
and our cattle°
should die°°
there?° |

20:5
And wherefore [is] this? Ye have brought us up out of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, that we should come into this evil place; a place where there is no sowing, neither figs, nor vines, nor pomegranates, neither is there water to drink. |

And wherefore°
have ye made us to come up°°
out of Egypt,°°
to bring°°
us in°°
unto°
this°
evil°
place?°
it [is] no°
place°
of seed,°
or of figs,°
or of vines,°
or of pomegranates;°
neither°
[is] there any water°

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron went from before the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of witness, and they fell upon their faces; and the glory of the Lord appeared to them. |

of the tabernacle°
of the congregation,°
and they fell°°

their faces:°
and the glory°
of Yahweh°
appeared°°

And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, |

And Yahweh°
spake°°
unto°
Moses,°
saying,°° |

20:8
Take thy rod, and call the assembly, thou and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye to the rock before them, and it shall give forth its waters; and ye shall bring forth for them water out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their cattle. |

and gather°°
thou the assembly°
together,°°°
thou,°
and Aaron°
thy brother,°
and speak°°
ye unto°
the rock°
before their eyes;°
and it shall give forth°°
his water,°
and thou shalt bring forth°°

the rock:°
so thou shalt give°°°
the congregation°
and their beasts°

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} took his rod which was before the Lord, as the Lord commanded. |

Yahweh,°
as°
he commanded°°
him. |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock, and said to them, Hear me, ye disobedient ones; must we bring you water out of this rock? |

and Aaron°
gathered°°
the congregation°
together°°°
before°°
the rock,°
and he said°°
unto them, Hear°°
now,°
ye rebels;°°
must we fetch°°
you water°
out of°
this°
rock?° |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice; and much water came forth, and the congregation drank, and their cattle. |

And Moses°
lifted up°°°
his hand,°
and with his rod°
he smote°°°
the rock°
twice:°
and the water°
came out°°
abundantly,°
and the congregation°
drank,°°
and their beasts°
[also]. |

20:12 ¶
And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron, Because ye have not believed me to sanctify me before the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. |
|

And Yahweh°

unto°
Moses°
and Aaron,°
Because°
ye believed°°
me not,°
to sanctify°°
me in the eyes°
of the children°
of Israel,°
therefore°
ye shall not°
bring°°°
this°
congregation°
into°
the land°
which°
I have given°°
them. |

This is the water of Strife, because the children of Israel spoke insolently before the Lord, and he was sanctified in them. |

of Meribah;°
because°
the children°
of Israel°
strove°°
with°
Yahweh,°
and he was sanctified°°
in them. |

20:14 ¶
And Mosheh{gr.Moses} sent messengers from Kadesh{gr.Cades} to the king of Edom, saying, Thus says thy brother Israel; Thou knowest all the distress that has come upon us. |

the king°
of Edom,°
Thus°

thy brother°
Israel,°
Thou°
knowest°°°
all°
the travail°
that°
hath befallen°°

And [how] our fathers went down into Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, and we sojourned in Mizraim{gr.Egypt} many days, and the Mizraimites{gr.Egyptians} afflicted us and our fathers. |

How our fathers°

into Egypt,°
and we have dwelt°°
in Egypt°
a long°
time;°
and the Egyptians°
vexed°°
us, and our fathers:° |

And we cried to the Lord, and the Lord heard our voice, and sent an angel and brought us out of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}; and now we are in the city of Kadesh{gr.Cades}, at the extremity of thy coasts. |

And when we cried°°
unto°
Yahweh,°
he heard°°
our voice,°
and sent°°
an angel,°
and hath brought us forth°°
out of Egypt:°°
and, behold,°
we°
[are] in Kadesh,°
a city°
in the uttermost°
of thy border:° |

We will pass through thy land: we will not go through the fields, nor through the vineyards, nor will we drink water out of thy cistern: we will go by the king's highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left, until we have passed thy borders. |

Let us pass,°°
I pray thee,°
through thy country:°
we will not°
pass°°
through°
the fields,°
or through the vineyards,°
neither°
will we drink°°
[of] the water°
of the wells:°
we will go°°°
by the king's°
[high] way,°
we will not°
turn°°
to the right hand°
nor to the left,°
until°°
we have passed°°
thy borders.° |

And Edom said to him, Thou shalt not pass through me, and if otherwise, I will go forth to meet thee in war. |

him, Thou shalt not°
pass°°
by me, lest°
I come out°°
against°°
thee with the sword.° |

20:19
And the children of Israel say to him, We will pass by the mountain; and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, I will pay thee: but it is no matter of importance, we will go by the mountain. |

And the children°
of Israel°
said°°
unto°
him, We will go°°
by the high way:°
and if°
I°
and my cattle°
drink°°
of thy water,°
then I will pay°°°
for it: I will only,°
without°
[doing] any thing°
[else], go through°°
on my feet.° |

And he said, Thou shalt not pass through me; and Edom went forth to meet him with a great host, and a mighty hand. |

And he said,°°
Thou shalt not°
go through.°°
And Edom°
came out°°
against°°
him with much°
people,°
and with a strong°
hand.° |

20:21
So Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through his borders, and Israel turned away from him. |
|
20:21
Thus Edom°
refused°°
to give°°°
Israel°
passage°°
through his border:°
wherefore Israel°
turned away°°
from°°
him. |

20:22 ¶
And they departed from Kadesh{gr.Cades}; and the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came to Mount Or. |
|
20:22 ¶
And the children°
of Israel,°
[even] the whole°
congregation,°
journeyed°°
from Kadesh,°°
and came°°
unto mount°
Hor.° |

20:23
And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron in mount Or, on the borders of the land of Edom, saying, |

spake°°
unto°
Moses°
and Aaron°
in mount°
Hor,°
by°
the coast°
of the land°
of Edom,°
saying,°° |

Let Aaron be added to his people; for ye shall certainly not go into the land which I have given the children of Israel, because ye provoked me at the water of strife. |

Aaron°
shall be gathered°°
unto°
his people:°
for°
he shall not°
enter°°
into°
the land°
which°
I have given°°
unto the children°
of Israel,°
because°°
ye rebelled against°°°
my word°
at the water°
of Meribah.° |

Take Aaron, and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to the mount Or before all the congregation; |

unto mount°

and take Aaron's apparel from off him, and put it on Eleazar his son: and let Aaron die there and be added to [his people]. |

of his garments,°
and put°°
them upon°°
Eleazar°
his son:°
and Aaron°
shall be gathered°°
[unto his people], and shall die°°
there.° |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} did as the Lord commanded him, and took him up to mount Or, before all the congregation. |

And Moses°

as°
Yahweh°
commanded:°°
and they went up°°
into°
mount°
Hor°
in the sight°
of all°
the congregation.° |

20:28
And he took Aaron's garments off him, and put them on Eleazar his son, and Aaron died on the top of the mountain; and Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Eleazar came down from the mountain. |

And Moses°
stripped°°°
Aaron°°
of his garments,°
and put°°
them upon°°
Eleazar°
his son;°
and Aaron°
died°°
there°
in the top°
of the mount:°
and Moses°
and Eleazar°
came down°°
from°
the mount.° |

And all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead: and they wept for Aaron thirty days, [even] all the house of Israel. |

that°
Aaron°
was dead,°°
they mourned°°
for°
Aaron°
thirty°
days,°
[even] all°
the house°
of Israel.° |
